Home away from home....
My sister and I stayed at this lovely apartment for 2 weeks in October. The apartment was perfectly set up for us. The bed and pullout couch had firm mattresses and were very comfortable to sleep on. We didn’t use the beds in the loft and I would recommend them for kids who would love to climb up and down the ladder. At our “mature” age, we would find it difficult to use, especially at night. The kitchen has a microwave, a cooktop and oven which were handy for cooking our meals and the fridge was full-size. The apartment is perfectly located, just a 3 minute walk to the Monoprix grocery/department store on rue Opéra. The Pyramid metro stop is a half block past the Monoprix. The Louvre is a 5 minute walk and we enjoyed walking through the Tuileries Gardens next to it. It is also about a 10 minute walk from the Palais Garnier Opéra on rue Opéra. This is where the Roissy Bus drops off tourists coming from the CDG airport and where you pick it up to go back to the airport. It’s the best mode of transport to and from the airport and costs approx. 16 euros.
It is very quiet at night with few cars going by. The apartment building is next to a primary school, so from 9 am during the week you can hear the children playing outside in the enclosed schoolyard. I was sleeping on the pullout couch and it didn’t bother me as I was awake by then, but if you are a late riser it may be good to know. We loved this apartment and it felt like we were coming "home" at the end of the day.
