Lake Front Property On Quiet Cove At The Entrance To Peak Creek Claytor Lake Va.
Wake up to beautiful views of the lake and enjoy your morning coffee on the spacious covered porch. Just a 3minute drive from I-81, this property is on the north side of the lake and very easy to get to. A big plus is shopping and restaurants only a few minutes away.
This property was our primary residence for 17 years. We now live in a home on an adjoining property, so we are close by. The property is at the end of a private drive that is well maintained and is very secluded but sits directly on the lake. We currently have two bedrooms ready to rent with a sleeping loft over the living room. It can sleep 6 people. There are three full bath rooms and a 1/2 bath in the laundry room.
The kitchen is well stocked for cooking and there is an outside grill for cook-outs. The living room dining room and kitchen are an open floor plan along with the upstairs loft. All living spaces have a wonderful view of the lake. There is a wrap around porch that over looks the lake, drive, and the woods around the house. There is also a gazebo with a swing. The top of the boat house and the floating dock come with the rental. There is a cement drive with a basketball backstop and a horse shoe pit.
A handmade one of a kind spiral staircase leads to a sleeping loft which has a full size futon and full bathroom. There is a full size pull-out sofa in the downstairs living area. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed with a private bathroom. There is also, a playpen for your convenience.

Classic lake house. Family place for tons of fun. Virginia countryside awesome. Local Draper Mercantile a treasure spot and proximity to Va Tech perfect!!!
Beautiful views from the deck while having morning coffee! Steven gave me great directions to find the place - GPS will not get you all the way. Everything you need is there, and Steven is just up the road if you need anything, but we just relaxed and enjoyed touring the Blue Ridge Mountains. A little too chilly to dip in the lake, but fishing boats trolled the creek every morning, so bring your pole if you want to fish off the dock!
Lake view from the house is outstanding. Hosts are lovely and communicative. Home had all household things needed to cook or grill at home. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. Super easy to rent kayaks and paddleboards nearby. Only negative is that my husband and kids would have loved the hot tub in the pictures to be working. Caveat: my husband and kids love hot tubs. Overall, it was a great place to spend some family time before dropping off a freshman at VT and very happy with our stay.
This property has a beautiful view and the downstairs bedrooms have very comfortable beds. The owners live close by and brought us some very yummy cinnamon rolls one day! You couldn’t ask for better communication from them and so nice! We rented a pontoon for 3 days from Rockhouse Marina and they deliver and pick up the boat to this house!! Great fishing off the dock and our family had an amazing time! Thanks for sharing your house with us’
Our 4th or 5th stay…. It’s like coming home. Rustic and comfortable at the same time with the very best view and swimming spot on the lake. Thanks Steve and Laurie!!
The home is very clean and neat. The views are amazing and the porch is the perfect spot for morning coffee. You can even see the lake from the couch. Fishing from the dock was so much fun and we caught a lot of fish. My husband is already wanting to go back with are grown boys for a guys trip and I am wanting a girls trip there. This place is perfect for couples, families, girls and guy trips. We took kayaks and fished around the lake. It’s also a great place to swim. We will be going back to stay. We took one day and went to Christiansburg to shop. Plenty of things to do. Highly recommend staying here.
Great weather this week. Fun on rafts throughout the day at the dock. House was good. Well stocked. Love sitting on back deck at night. Great location!!!
My whole family loved this house and the lake! Even the teenagers! They didn't want to leave. This house is so unique and it had everything we needed. The only time we left was for my son's baseball games, which is why we were there. The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful! We enjoyed learning more about the house and its history. The beds were very comfortable, everything was very clean. The last night, I slept on the pull-out sofa in the living room so I could wake up to the sunrise and the most beautiful view of the lake and the mountains. Trust me, you will want to try this!! We all definitely want to go back!
Our family stayed during VT graduation weekend. The house was very comfortable. Everything we needed for making meals and eating together. Family enjoyed fishing, playing basketball, and there was plenty of space for us to gather and visit. It was a lovely location on the lake!
Nice, quiet house on a cove just off the main lake with a fantastic view from the deck and living room. Wonderful dark skies at night for stargazing and photography. Wildlife (deer, lizards, migratory geese) was easy to find as well. Easy kayak rentals that deliver to, and pick up from, the dock. Steve and Laurie were easy to deal with and are right up the road for any questions. About 45 minutes to Va. Tech and to Floyd (little town with local artists’ galleries and great local food).
This was our third stay in this wonderful home and we are already looking forward to next summer. Our family uses our lake week to reconnect after a busy season and it is the perfect place for it…. I almost hope Claytor Lake stays a secret!!!! Steve and Laurie’s house is fabulous… although we are almost never in it unless it is raining and even then we are most likely out on the huge porch. This is not a fancy, lap of luxury type of vacation (go to another lake if that’s your thing)… more like a “play in the lake all day and then sleep wherever” type of thing. We love it.
Our Family had an awesome time at this Lake house. The property was just as described and portrayed in the pictures. Steve the host lives nearby and was friendly, helpful and easy to work with. The House is homey with a very cool lodge feel and was just the perfect size for our group of 5. The property is on a quite cove with amazing lake views, a very nice dock with a boat lift and easy access to the water for swimming and fishing! Everything worked just as described and we had no problems what so all. We will be back!
This was our second stay and we really can’t say enough about this property and the hosts. Steve is incredibly accommodating as is the house. Our first visit we were pregnant with our daughter who is a year and half. The house is loaded with supplies for little ones and the deck can be closed off to provide a great place for them to play.
Our crew enjoyed jumping off the dock, we brought our boat and the lift was awesome for keeping it safe. It’s a really great location on the lake in a quiet cove. (We launched our boat at the Claytor Lake state park).
The house has such great amenities. The pots and pans, dishes, and knife block are all fantastic if you like to cook. Gas range. Oversized washer and dryer. We grilled outside. Lots of place to spread out.
We will definitely be back. Feels like home.
Very nice place. We fished off the dock the first day fairly successfully. Heavy rains were forecast and lake authorities drew the lake down about 3 feet the first night we were there. That put a damper on fishing, but we still got some kayaking in between rain showers. Provided us what we wanted most, quiet relaxation.
This VRBO property is exactly what you see in the pictures. Walking into the house is just like visiting grandma's house in the seventies. From the wood paneling, plush toilet covers, linoleum floors, personal family portraits, to the dusty tchotchkes sitting everywhere you'll think you've entered the cool time tunnel to 1972. Great location on Claytor Lake and for meeting our friends half way between our homes.
This was a lovely property for spending time with family. A beautiful view of the sunrise over the lake was perfect for a cup of coffee and a relaxing morning. The lakefront dock was nice for enjoying the water, and the spa was warm and ready for us when we arrived. We loved it in the fall, and it would be a great family get away in the summer when the lake water is warmer.
