We were in town to celebrate the life of a loved one and appreciated the quiet, cozy environment and serene view.
Special thanks to Vittorio and Kimberley for their swift attention to an internet issue upon our arrival.
Chateau Marmot was just as billed.... historic, charming, welcoming! We enjoyed a lovely week of fall colors and family gatherings in a true home, filled with beautiful antiques and artwork. Vittorio and Kimberly were gracious hosts who made it easy to arrive and care for their home. We had fun doing the daily feeding of the Koi in the pond and enjoyed walks in the nearby woods. The hot tub was a welcome vacation treat.
We would love to visit this home away from home again!
Chateau Marmot feels like a retreat to the Italian countryside (minus the travel and jet lag). The home is beautiful and well-appointed, particularly in the kitchen which has everything you would ever need to cook as well as a selection of olive oils from around the world. We were lucky to have great weather and enjoyed cookouts on the grill and spending time on the terrace, which is a perfect place to watch the sun rise in the morning. And, Vittorio (the owner) showed us the true meaning of hospitality when he welcomed us into his home on our first day. Highly recommend Chateau Marmot and any other properties where Vittorio and Kimberley are the hosts!
We spent a perfectly restful Christmas week break at this house where we lounged in the hot tub and made outdoor fires overlooking the Hudson. The house is well appointed with a truly classy European feel, an indoor fireplaces we you through the evening and thoughtful niches and decor. The collection of global olive oils also added more flavor to all the cooking we did.
The property has a lovely terrace to enjoy the sun, is located close to a great hiking trail. Conveniently situated for grocery shopping and the Piermont village. A fully stocked kitchen.
A very enjoyable stay.
Lovely chateau full of character set in beautiful surroundings
We had a wonderful family getaway and enjoyed Chateau Marmot immensely! We loved the great living space, Italian kitchen with windows opening to the verranda, lounging on the verranda overlooking the Hudson River, grilling/cooking and, of course, the jacuzzi! We also explored the surrounding area (from hiking to restaurants), although we more often just wanted to stay and enjoy all this relaxing unique historic chateau has to offer.
Vittorio couldn't have been more responsive and accommodating, even going out of his way to bring over additional items for our stay. We would gladly return in the future.
From the moment you arrive it feels like you are somewhere in Italy tucked away from reality. It boasts majestic dreamlike sceneries with picture perfect landscape. The living area is well appointed with large comfortable sofas; a large dining table that seats eight and a fabulous entertainment system. While relaxing in the living area, it feels like you are living in a whimsical tree house overlooking the Gov. Mario Cuomo bridge. (formally the Tappan Zee Bridge)
The kitchen is fully equipped, and we truly enjoyed opening the large swinging antique windows to take in the calm summer breeze and the breathtaking views. (We can only image what the views would look like in the fall). We especially enjoyed the outdoor vignettes; from the Gazebo and Veranda; the Koi Pond stocked with beautiful fish to the private courtyard; all lovely for having a glass of wine, a cup of coffee or just reading a good book.
If you want to venture out; the Village of Piermont is only a short drive away or downtown Nyack—both great for shopping and outdoor or indoor dining.
Additionally, the owners were wonderful and extremely responsive from the moment we found the property. When we arrived, we found detailed instructions about the property; even when to feed the fish! On our next visit, we will definitely take advantage of the having the private chef!
Thanks Vittorio and Kimberly!

We had an excellent stay at the Chateau Marmot near the towns of Orangetown, Piermont, and Nyack, NY. Very nice, private property. We made great meals and sat out on the big patio overlooking the river and the Mario Cuomo Bridge and we took advantage of the property's proximity to state parks for daily hikes. The owners could not have been more helpful.
Such a beautiful and peaceful escape from the city without losing conveniences like grocery and food delivery when we didn’t feel like venturing out. Was the most well equipped house we’ve ever rented. Very obvious the owners enjoy good food and wine and we appreciated the nice glasses, pretty dishes, awesome cookware and outdoor grills. Owners were super responsive on questions. Enjoyed feeding the fish each morning. Loved watching the chipmunks and birds. We will miss them all. Very charming and cozy home. The living room furniture was super comfy. Was hard to leave. Thanks for the great escape!
