Lakeside Retreat Lake Lanier-Come enjoy all that North Georgia has to offer!

Welcome to Dawsonville and one of North Georgia’s most intriguing locations, Lake Lanier. Here you will enjoy beautiful North Georgia mountains, vineyards, outlet and boutique shopping, hiking trails, as well as a short drive to downtown Atlanta. This quaint studio cottage has all you need for a perfect getaway.
You will enjoy fully furnished nights with a plush king size bed, fully stocked chef’s kitchen, and a custom designed master bath with a stand-up shower and a beautiful air-bath tub. Comfortably heated floors are included for colder nights and a gas firepit table on the deck.. On warmer evenings you will enjoy sitting on the outdoor porch, overlooking the tranquil garden of evergreens or on the newly added side deck with views of Lake Lanier.(Please know that we are on the lake, but we do not have a dock.)
This will be a perfect alternative to a hotel stay for you while visiting Lake Lanier, North Georgia mountains, wineries, or Dahlonega. We live right around the corner on the lake with a two story dock complete with lounge chairs on top. We also have two kayaks and a paddle board that are available with access to the lake from our dock. You are more than welcome to hang out on our dock and fish/swim.

This property cannot be more highly recommended.

Our stay was impeccable. Donna went above and beyond in every facet of our stay. The accommodations were beautifully decorated and just perfect. Donna went above and beyond with every detail from snacks, coffee, creamer, drinks, desserts, etc. In addition, she also was extremely helpful with advice about the area. If this accommodation is available, reserve it! You won’t be disappointed!

Gorgeous & Relaxing Getaway

We felt so welcomed when we stayed here! The fridge was well stocked. It was very tastefully decorated and we felt at peace in this home. The furnishings are nice and the bed was comfortable! It’s a nice quiet neighborhood too! The perfect little retreat! Would 100% recommend and stay here again!

Welcoming Cottage

The VRBO owner is welcoming and checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Lots of stocked snacks, drinks, and a great variety of Keurig coffee flavors. The cottage is just the right size for two. Nice bathroom, kitchen and comfortable bed. The location at the lake is scenic and Gainesville and Dahlonega are not far away.

Simply Amazing

First, I have to mention our host, Donna, she’s amazing. You know the second you see the place that she enjoys what does, and trust me she is fantastic at it! From the minute we entered we were amazed. The cottage was magnificent. So well decorated. You can clearly tell cleaning is a priority, because it immaculate.if you’re ever in the area don’t hesitate to stay here. We will be using it for our weekend getaways. Picture Perfect

My husband and I decided to take a short trip to relax and enjoy time together in Georgia. We decided on this property and were not disappointed. Donna, our hostess, was amazing. She checked to make sure we had everything we needed each day and was so nice. The listing stated that the property would have items stocked in the kitchen but in reality everything you may want including drinks, snacks, coffee, breakfast foods, frozen foods, and more is already in the kitchen when you arrive. We were shocked and so grateful! The cabin was super clean and decorated very cute. It is located in a great area close to many things to do including wineries, waterfalls, hiking, and shopping. We will be back again soon! We loved everything about it!

Ms Donna did not disappoint again. Second time to stay here for our little Christmas get-a-way…and will not be our last! Excellent Getaway

This cabin is awesome! The owner has made this cabin a welcoming haven from the fall decorations, inspiring plaques on the wall, instrumental music playing as we entered down to goody bags for each of us—a handwritten board welcoming us as well as providing our favorite drinks. Definitely a 5 star stay.

Terrific birthday getaway

I booked this for my fiancé and I to get away for his birthday and as a last rest before he started a new job. Donna was extremely responsive throughout the process. She asked about our preferences for coffee too! We arrived to a beautifully fall decorated retreat including a happy birthday banner and treats. We enjoyed our stay. There was nothing we needed that wasn't provided. The area is extremely peaceful and I even got some work done sitting on the deck enjoying small but nice view of the lake. We even had time for a romantic dinner at nearby winery.

Awesome cabin!

Loved this little cabin! The host is unbelievable, the best host I have ever experienced. She is extremely communicative, the kitchen and bathroom were fully stocked with EVERYTHING! She went above and beyond and left a bottle of wine, chocolate, and a happy birthday sign for my birthday. Gave us great recommendations for some local wineries and things to do. There is a gas grill outside that has everything you need, just bring your own meat and veggies! So easy! Very safe neighborhood, great neighbors, close to many attractions, like Helen, wineries, and Dahlonega. Highly highly recommend! I will definitely stay here again Next time I am in the area. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

Fabulous Summer Vacation

My husband and I spent the week at Lakeside Retreat and were very impressed! I can honestly say that everything exceeded our expectations. The room was very nice and clean including everything needed from toiletries, snacks, comfortable outdoor sitting options to relax, fire pit, etc. I honestly could not think of anything else that someone would need. The location was great and easily found with plenty of space that enabled us to park our truck and boat trailer on site. We spent a lot of our time on Lake Lanier and the location was close to a boat ramp. I also enjoyed running/walking in the neighborhood. The host Donna was AMAZING! She was very helpful and made us feel welcome. Her husband Ashley was very helpful also. Everyone in the neighborhood were so nice and friendly and made us feel right at home. We also enjoyed meeting the hosts dog Piper! We have been to lake Lanier a few years ago and stayed somewhere else. This experience at Lakeside Retreat was perfect and we will definitely be back to stay. I would not stay anywhere else after staying at Lakeside Retreat!! Thank you Donna for making our summer vacation so wonderful !

Excellent Master Studio Cottage

"I can't express enough how incredible this place is! It's truly a hidden gem, beautiful, cozy, and impeccably clean. Donna, our host, was absolutely fantastic. She's incredibly attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials, and the bathroom has an abundance of fresh, fluffy towels. Additionally, there's a diverse range of fantastic dining options and enjoyable activities nearby. Without a doubt, I'll be recommending this place to friends and family. I'm already looking forward to returning in the future.

Wonderful Getaway! Amazing Host!

We loved this rental on Lake Lanier. We were celebrating our 28th Anniversary and we were not disappointed. As soon as we stepped into the one room studio, we were met with a beautifully decorated room and a banner over the bed celebrating our special day. Donna, our amazing hostess, had prepared snacks and drinks to bless our time there. She also was always quick to respond to our questions and needs. She even came to meet us at the cottage which was an additional blessing. We loved the outdoor areas on the decks and the jetted tub. We will definitely be back again!

Great vibes!!!

This property is amazing. It was beautifully decorated. It had everything that we needed. Donna, who is the host, put up decorations and left me a nice gift for my birthday. She was also very quick to respond to any questions that we had. She made us feel like we were not alone. Her deck is awesome for fishing. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and the neighbors are super friendly. I will definitely be rebooking this property.

It has always been a dream of mine to own a cabin that I could rent on VRBO because I love to host, decorate, and meet new people. So after retiring from a job I adored for 31 years (teaching school) I bought Rob’s Retreat. Rob had a very successful business, so when he decided he was going to move and sell his place I immediately told him that I wanted to buy it. That’s how Lakeside Retreat started in November 2022.
