You'll feel right at home the moment you arrive at the ‘Hudson House.'
Built in 1928 and rented since then, this original Adirondack tourist home pairs modern day comforts with age-old charm to create a getaway that is as delightful as it is convenient.
This gracious home has 4,100 square feet of living space that maintains its historic charm while incorporating modern updates and brand new furnishings.
Open the door to find a beautiful main floor with a gourmet kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and multiple conversation areas. Refuel the crew with a home-cooked feast. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and ample space to assist with any dish. Set out appetizers on the large island before the main course is served in the dining room. Relax after dinner in the gathering room - where comfortable couches surround the locally mined Garnet rock gas fireplace and a flat-screen TV. Or, retreat out front to the expansive porch to put your feet up with a glass of wine or cup of coffee and watch the river.
Our younger (or young at heart) guests can also move the fun downstairs to the fully furnished basement to watch a movie on the flat-screen TV or engage in a friendly game of ping pong in the adjacent room.
The basement also contains one very special renovation done with skiers, hikers, rafters and adventurers in mind. The “Rack Room” is a large, climate controlled, area with ski/snowboard racks, clothes drying racks, cubbies, hooks for camping gear, washer/dryer and ample seating for gearing up. Accessible directly from the back porch, guests can store all of their gear downstairs without cluttering up bedrooms or bathrooms on the main levels.
When your day in the mountains is complete, go up the original staircase to our 5 second floor bedrooms. Each bedroom is as unique as the ski runs they are named after with 3 Queen beds, 1 King bed, and a white birch bunk bed. Two more bathrooms provide guests with a luxurious choice between the “Moose” walk-in shower or a relaxing soak in the antique tub. Finally, the third-floor attic loft has two twin beds (with space for an additional 2 twin air mattresses). Add window seats and a sitting area with a TV and you have the perfect space for our younger guests to claim as “their own clubhouse.”
The appeal of the ‘Hudson House’ does not end indoors. Each season brings its own unique beauty to the ‘Hudson House” property. Be sure to explore our 2 acres of backyard woods where the only sounds are the trickling creeks and crunching leaves. Nice day outside? Change up your usual routine with a picnic in the Adirondack Summer House, a walk on our trail or just sit on a rock overlooking Raymond Brook with a camera in hand. The property also extends across the street to the Hudson River. Our private riverbank access has gorgeous views of the water and lots of places to dip in your toes.
