We had three groups of people and the cabin was set up in a way that we all had our own space when we wanted it. Plenty of space for a family gathering as well. Host was very quick to respond before and during our stay.
Beautiful, private mountain cabin. Amazing nighttime stargazing on the back deck. Super fun game room the grands loved. Lots of space inside and out for 3 energetic boys!! Loved our stay. Other reviews refer to the driveway being gravel and too steep but there are two entrances and the one off the Twin Creeks subdivision is good for any vehicle.
Our Christmas hope for snow came true.. but if you stay, the driveways are super steep and not graded well. We needed a tow two times to get out of the property so be sure you come with 4WD. Otherwise. The ambiance, cleanliness and environment was spectacular. The gas ran out while we were there and the property management were quick and helpful. Overall- really great.
Cabin was beautiful, the views are amazing. We loved waking up and watching the deer and turkeys. Cabin was very clean on our arrival and also well stocked; the beds were a little firmer than we were used to but very comfortable. We did not have any issues that required contacting property management. Definitely recommend a 4-wheel drive if you plan to use the steeper side of the driveway but there is also plenty of room to turn around. Cabin is about 15 mins from Blue Ridge. On the day of check out we were out and closing the cabin up at 9:55am (check out is 10am) and the cleaning staff was awaiting our departure in the driveway which we found slightly strange.
Wonderful spot for a peaceful and fun family vacation!!
My husband and I, our 5 kids, and grandparents, really enjoyed our stay in the cabin!! We definitely want to stay again in the future, and would recommend it to anyone. The cabin is really sweet and spacious, giving all of us plenty of room to be together, or spread out.
My kids loved the fox loft with toys, kids books, dress up clothes, and a tent to play or sleep in! They also loved the game room, the extra tv to watch when the adults were watching football, the yard and creek! We all enjoyed playing the games they provided, the big deck with the hot tub, and the screened in porch couch! Even the front porch and balcony was a neat space to sit outside in the quiet. We loved watching the deer family come up the property every morning, and go back every evening. It's what we all looked out to see first thing after waking up. The cabin is in a great location by a little town where we went to eat by the river, grab something at the grocery store, or go into the shops. So quaint and peaceful.
Our first evening the grill didn't heat well enough to cook the food. We'd brought most all of our food, and most of the dinners were to be grilled. I contacted the property managers and they sent someone out that evening with a brand new grill. We really appreciated it!
The internet was slow, but, everything else was so great that it overshadowed the one slightly negative thing!
My family and I had a great stay at this property. The internet was too slow to support any streaming(although we didn't spend much time watching TV anyways) and there's no cell service in the cabin. The driveway is very difficult to get out of because the drive is so steep. Those were the only issues. Every morning there were deer grazing in the back yard and every night there was a clear sky to see stars in the hottub. Made use of the grill and gameroom. The cabin was conveniently located close to downtown blueridge, Mccaysville, parks and activities.
It was just the two of us and our 3 dogs. The cabin is set up in a way that it's easy to contain dogs to one section or another, and the 36" crate fit in the master bedroom without being in the way. We could have fit a second one, but two of the dogs were with us the entire time so we only needed the one crate.
There were a couple items that needed attention, and the gals were very receptive when I gave them a list. The handyman showed up as we were loading up the dogs to depart. Fantastic response (nothing was dire & was able to wait until we left, just some minor things to make the next person's visit even better than ours).
The creek is shallow and there's one good spot to get down into it, but do beware - you'll sink about 6" into the softest mud. A couple steps will find you on firmer ground, though, so scrunch up your face and power through that first "ew" part. We tied the dogs out with 30' ropes to keep them from running rampant (one is a runner) and hung out with them by the creek for a bit, which they Very much enjoyed.
The dogs saw several deer, and were quite excited about it.
One word of caution - the stairs are steep and the inside stairs are slick (we don't wear shoes in the house). If anyone is mobility challenged, do keep that in mind. There are railings for all stairs, which helps. Downstairs is Much cooler, and quieter, than the rest of the house, and the loft is quite a bit warmer and you'll hear Everything (except maybe the downstairs, haha) - something to consider when deciding who shall sleep where.
Having the washer and dryer available was such a delight! We did our laundry before leaving and only had to put it away when we got home. Candace, the gal who cleaned before we arrived, did a marvelous job and everything was in good order. I had a lot of fun poking around in all the nooks and crannies to see what was what.
Overall we had a lovely trip, and there were more creature comforts than we anticipated.
great backyard with creek. kids and pups loved it. hot tub and game room a real plus. not too far from blue ridge for dinner, shopping. horseback riding right around the corner and ziplining a short drive away.
Quaint cabin in a convenient but remote location to find tranquility.
Easy access at check in. However, I would recommend a 4x4 during inclement weather. When the leaves are wet it’s hard to gain traction getting up the hill. The river access was not as portrayed in the listing. However, it may be due to blockage or dry season. The master bedroom upper window doesn’t have a curtain so I’d suggest one there as light comes directly in the morning. Spectacular downstairs game room with open air access. All of the little touches the owner put in the cabin we’re much appreciated (i.e. the loft area with kids tent etc. were really enjoyed by the kids). Kitchen was well equipped with upgraded pots and pans and acceptable plate ware. Covered gas grill area was a nice feature and hot tub was very clean and worked well.
Beautiful place!! Biggest complaint is the beds. They are old box springs. Very uncomfortable.
I checked all of the beds and they all were box springs. Glad it was only a short weekend stay b/c of that. But overall the place was amazing!! Internet speeds were slow but then again you are in the mountains.
We rented the cabin with friends. The map location shared by vrbo took us straight to the cabin. Overall, our stay was enjoyable. The creek in the back provided endless fun for the kids.
There was one issue during our stay. We contacted the property managers and they did their part to make it right. We were happy with their efforts.
I would like to see more trash bags, towels, detergent, and dishwasher tablets on site. Our reservation was for 4 adults and 4 kids for 4 nights/5days. For the price paid to rent, if the above items are going to be restricted, the least the property management can do is leave enough for the reserved stay length.
I would consider staying again.
We had a wonderful week at Fox Hollow! The cabin was even better than represented in the pictures. The decor was perfect, the beds were comfortable and everything was clean. We enjoyed the fireplace, the patio and the deer that visited. The overall rating would have easily have been a "5" if the internet had worked properly. We followed instructions for resetting the router and modem to no avail. We called to speak with Buffy, but she was not available and we did not hear back from her. That could have been because the cell service was almost non-existent. There was a land line in the cabin, however. Overall, we had a wonderful time.
