Awesome View

The house is beautiful, clean and has an excellent view. We enjoyed 4th of July fireworks show without the need of leaving the house. I would definitely rent this house again.

Could be better

Older home. Best thing going for it is the view. Balcony railings dangerously loose. Coming apart at all joints. Stay back! Living room furniture VERY old. Especially the leather couch sinks WAY in. We never sat on it. Two old recliners. Old dirty pillows on all furniture. Beds were fine.. Kitchen: NO dishtowels at all. 1 roll of paper towels not enough, only 1 teaspoon in drawer. Feels as if the owner never visits. Party before us didn't empty their kitchen trash. We wiped up a small water spill in kitchen and the paper towel was black with dirt. We wondered if the floors really get cleaned? Upstairs toilet stopped flushing. Management sent someone to fix right away. Fire alarm in 1 bedroom started chirping at 2:00am. Needed battery. (These should be on a regular change out cycle for safety) We all said we wouldn’t stay there again. It’s in need of updates and outer cosmetic repairs. Looks older in person than on website. Hopefully some of these things get addressed. Sorry to have to leave a negative review

Can't believe that this place was such a dump and you rent it!

Where do i start? First off we have rented in Big Bear for at least 20 years. I am trying to say something positive but.....here goes.....the furniture in the living room is completely falling apart and disgusting! Couch is peeling and was all over the floor. The table and chairs was peeling and wobbly. The kitchen floor is soggy from a broken faucet. There was no top sheet on our bed and I dont believe the bottom sheet was even changed. There were not enough towels (no wash cloths, no hand towels)and one towel had been used and had pubic hair and mascara on it!!! This place has clearly not been cleaned in months and months! There were dirty half eaten cheetos under one bed, a dirty furnace filter behind the couch, dirty dishes in the cabinets. Glasses in the cupboard with lipstick! The downstairs bathroom vanity was filthy under it. The deck railings are so dangerous and ready to fall in. The front yard has trash under the entry deck which is also falling apart! I want to find something nice to say but this place is disgusting. STOP renting this place until someone cleans it up!!! Furniture is super cheap from Living Spaces. With our rent for the weekend you can purchase some furniture at least.

See below

We were really patience with the cabin but it is unacceptable. I reached out and never heard back. Every day something New showed up and they have added up to a level unacceptablness. First of all there are rodents in the walls, second my children went into the hot tub and came out with itching skin and rashes; and we had to go get them Benadryl. I don’t even know where to begin with the ‘smaller’ items: Ceiling above stove is dripping with dust and grease, intake hvac grate is caked, no soap or cleaning materials, flaking furniture and falling apart , my wife moved a chair and underneath was a couple years of food dust and grime, furniture that has not been cleaned, railings on deck are lose lose, dirty dishes in cabinets (literally with rice still on them), smoke detectors low on battery at 3 AM. We rent cabins in big bear numerous times a year and this place is terrible. Please provide a fair resolution immediately. We have noted and recorded each of the above items and look forward to working with you.

Not the same as pictures

This is my second time renting a cabin at big bear & when I saw the pictures of this cabin I thought it was perfect. But once I got there I started to notice that the cabin looked so much better on pictures. To start off, the master bedroom barely had any light & it was facing the road with the other neighbors, I couldn’t keep my curtains open with out the front neighbors seeing everything. Also the jacuzzi’s temperature did not work. Every time I tried putting it down a little, it went back to the temp it started with, along with no lighting at all in the jacuzzi room, the view wasn’t great at all, it was just this whole dark boring room with not much view of nature. And on my last day stay, (i rented this cabin for 4 days & 3 nights so it was definitely not a cheap stay) on the last day I called to stay at least an hour longer to have enough time to pack everything. And I was told I had 12 complaints. Which I am 100% sure it wasn’t from my cabin. We had a little get together for my birthday, dinner, music talking. Nothing big at all. Definitely did not enjoy the most of my stay & will not be renting this cabin again...

Peaceful Mountain escape

The house was private, had great views and was quiet. However, the pictures reflect the property in it's prime. The current property is much older, the furniture was tattered, the place was dusty and there were a few little quirks (leak faucets, loose railing) etc... that were not ideal. Overall we enjoyed our time in Big Bear and next time will look for a more up to date place.

Great family house

We rented this light filled property for our Christmas vacation. It was spacious and cozy. We loved the hot tub and the living room had plenty of space. In convenient proximity to the slopes. We definitely recommend this to other families.

Beautiful property, needed a little work

The property was beautiful and had a great location. The cleaning service before we arrived left a lot to be desired though, and the kitchen was not well stocked with pans/cooking utensils. Fairly typical for a winter rental like this though. The views were amazing and definitely made up for it.

Lovely cabin with an incredible view. 7 min drive to zoo and close to everything.

My family and I stayed at the cabin the weekend of Aug 17-19th, we were a group of 6 adults and 4 children. We come to Big Bear every other year and decided to rent this cabin because the View looked amazing on the photos. It did not disappoint! We watched a few beautiful sunsets and a sunrise. Barbecuing and eating on the deck was so refreshing, 2 propane tanks were ready for us to barbecue as soon as we got there. The cabin itself was clean and comfortable. With all the reclining sofas and rocker and comfortable beds. The tri-level was pretty fun for the kids and they had fun running up and down the stairs. There is a full bathroom on each level with supplied toilet paper, hand soap. towels and a sample lotion. Kitchen is a little on the small side but comfortable enough to cook in. It has plenty of utensils and all you need to cook, eat and drink from. I made good use of the lovely tea kettle many times to heat up water for tea and coffee, although there is a coffee maker if you prefer. It is sparse on spices and condiments so bring your own. A small dish soap, roll of paper towels, 2-3 dishwasher pods and misc cleaning supplies are provided.as well as a few extra trash bags. There is a washer and dryer but no laundry supplies are provided unless you call to ask for them. You do need to bring extra towels for the jacuzzi if you are lucky enough to use it. It is located to the side room off the front door porch, when we arrived we immediately checked it as recommended only to find it empty of water. I called Destination Big Bear and they sent a spa tech over to clean and fill it up within the hour. But possibly because it was just filled it never got “hot” and was just a warm tub. We only used it for a little while on Friday because there is no lighting in the room once it gets dark. Next day after spending the day at the zoo and on the lake we tried to use it again only to not be able to unlock the combination lock. It was late afternoon so after many failed attempts to unlock the door and too late to call we just gave up on it and never really got to enjoy it. Another issue we came across was the WiFi and cable tv service. When we arrived on Friday they both worked well, come Saturday morning, No more service. Tech came by unable to fix. Finally my daughter read a message that Spectrum bill was past due. After a few calls to Destination Big Bear owner finally paid bill and service restored. Other than these few issues the cabin is great!

Beautiful property

It is a beautiful home but we got snowed in as it is up the mountain a bit on a private road that did not get cleared. My car got stuck a few times. Had to shovel snow off driveway and onto street just so our car could get out.

Moutain top lake vista, and cabin style are worth every penny. Jacuzzi and little extras are great.

Cabin booked for a little winter getaway. Arrived during a mild snow storm. Cabin was ready to go. Warm, clean and a bit of hand and dishwasher soap in kitchen. Clean towels hand soap and TP in all bathrooms. Bedrooms with extra blankets. Beautiful view is constantly distracting. Good thing because Pigeon road was deep in slushy snow and no dashing out for supplies was practical. If looking hard for little problems - main AV Blu-ray player inoperable. No hot pads in kitchen. Bring kindling for fireplace - no gas lighter. But if you were planning on movie binging get a cheaper cabin. Otherwise don't miss the show out the window.

Very beautiful cabin with a few flaws

The cabin was beautiful! but, had some minor flaws. The lighting inside was horrible, majority of the light bulbs need to be replaced, especially in the living room/kitchen area. The heater kept the cabin very warm although the downstairs area (kids room/adult room) was freezing, for some reason the heater did not reach those areas. So I highly recommend bringing your own blankets. Another issue we had was with the wifi, none of our cell phones or the kids tablets were able to connect to wifi even after following the instructions given to us, which was a huge shame for the little ones. Overall, the cabin was beautiful! their was Plenty of room, open space and each room had a balcony with an amazing view. The decor was very cozy, you felt as if you were truly home. I would definitely book this cabin again! And most likely will come back next winter.

Beautiful place and perfectly located

We stayed in this house with 8 adults and 4 young kids. It was a great house with perfect sleeping arrangements for all four families. It is walking distance to Bear Mountain which is perfect if you are skiing or boarding. We were also lucky enough to get snow which was awesome. The house was beautiful, clean and comfortable. There was a baby gate for the stairs which was a must for the young kids. The view was also spectacular and made the cabin experience great. We had a few issues with the house, nothing big, but an issue. We weren't told ahead of time to bring extra towels for the hot tub so we had to wash the towels a few times. We also had to call for laundry soap because of this. The kitchen had the basics, but if you are staying here, I would recommend bringing tin foil or something to put leftovers in. The whole house had basics, but it was on the sparse side. The other issue was that we had to empty the dishwasher before we left the house. Most of the places we have rented we could get the dishes going and leave them. Because we had to put everything away, we had to plan accordingly in the morning so we could get out of there by 11am. Overall, it was a great place and we would stay there again. We just know to bring a few more items.

Perfect cabin, excellent locations

This house was perfect for our group ski getaway. The hot tub stayed nice and warm, the views were unbeatable at this size/price. And the beds were very comfortable. The showers also stayed nice and hot. The best part was the location. It really couldn't be any closer to Bear Mountain. Parking at the house is easy, and it's a quick less than 2 minute drive to the Bear Mountain parking lot. We also had a great time eating at Black Diamond Tavern just a short 4 minute drive away. The one thing I will say to other interested in renting this house, is to BRING YOUR OWN TOWELS. The house is appointed with 2 towels per bathroom, and we found 2 extras. But if you plan on using the hot tub, and not doing laundry every day you are there, then you are going to be using wet/cold towels between showers and the hot tub. So I would suggest bringing extras. But that's a pretty minor detail in terms of choosing a house. We really enjoyed our time, and have even discussed renting the house again this season!

Everything was right.

Couldn't have hoped for more. Beautiful home, outstanding view of the lake and the north shore at night was especially pretty . Accommodations and furnishings are top notch. When I felt inclined to call about a loose faucet, Daniel arrived within minutes, introduced himself and had the issue resolved immediately. He is a very nice representative for Destination Big Bear. I am especially fond of the way all the paperwork was done over the email, and stopping at the office was never necessary. I will always inquire of this property on my next visit. Great for a group, near the slopes, close to town, and the hot tub was wonderful. First time w/Big Bear Destinations, and I will definitely start my next search at Big Bear Lake with them.
