Perfect cozy cabin!

This cabin was perfect for our fall weekend getaway. Location is perfect - feels secluded but just a short drive to both Blowing Rock and Boone as well as many nearby trail options for hiking. The cabin itself is just as described. Kitchen and bathrooms are updated, and the living areas are cozy and nicely furnished. The beds were very comfortable with memory foam mattresses, and linens were clean and fresh. Kitchen was well stocked with basics and everything was spotless when we arrived. Great communication with hosts both before and during our stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay, Bill & Jennifer. We'll definitely be back!

The cabin’s location was perfect! Grocery stores and restaurants were within 10-15 minutes distance. The cabin was really nice and cozy, bedrooms were spacious enough and comfortable, bathrooms were spacious and clean. We enjoyed our evenings grilling on the back porch. The kitchen was well equipped but could use some nicer pans and spatulas. There was dust behind the headboards, and found cashews and drinks tops under the bed. The only inconvenience was having to take your own trash to the dumpster, it’s a hassle if you’re checking-out on a Sunday when dumpsters are closed. Overall, I can say that my family and I enjoyed our stay at this place and would come back.

Cute Cabin

This cabin is in a great location. Secluded but close to Boone. The interior is comfortable. The rear deck furniture is old and uncomfortable. The AC is programmed so it can't be set lower than 70 degrees. Would recommend this property.

Great for families

Overall, great property and location. Easy access to Boone, shopping and attractions. Property was very clean and kitchen was well stocked. Having a washer and dryer on site was also a nice perk when traveling with children. We used the gas grill and the fire pit when we stayed and enjoyed the time outdoors.

Secluded but close to town

Loved how private this home is. Away from the hustle but close enough to town to get supplies and do activities if desired. Roads are steep and windy which probably require 4WD and potentially chains during snow. Loved the fire pit and used it nightly. Lots of signs from the owners that were helpful and made communication clear. Emails from them seemed pretty standard/stock responses and didn't address any activity questions that I posed. Wifi service wasn't great for completing work/school tasks so had to use a hotspot. Frequently used household items were clean, but dust and cobwebs in less used ares (especially window coverings), which caused lots of sneezing for the kids. Couldn't get the indoor gas fireplace to light....although not necessary, we were doing it for the ambience. Check out was easy. If I could change one thing it would be to be able to put breakfast items in the dishwasher and running it prior to leaving instead of hand washing everything.

Our Christmas gift

This year we decided to make memories instead of buying gifts. This cabin was the best place to hit all the ski resorts. We were only few mins from Appalachian resort- where we ice skated. Beech and sugar were only a quick drive. We hit up the grocery store the first night and it was mins away. Kids learned to ski and we went tubbing. The cabin had everything we needed right down to a fireplace at then end of every day. The views from the back deck were breathe-taking. We would definitely rent this cabin again.

My family and I had a great time at this cabin. It was very cozy and relaxing. Kids had a blast sledding in the backyard and the fire pit was awesome. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. Thanks to the owners for being very responsive and answering any questions we had! The views were pretty awesome too, will definitely be back.

Life at the Top

The air was crisp, the cabin was awesome and snow started falling on Christmas Eve! Really doesn't get any better than that does it? The cabin is perched high atop the mountain with great views off the deck and the sun rises through the living room window. The drive to the cabin from main roads is very pretty, but make sure you're on your best drivers behavior as there are twists and turn to negotiate. Owners Bill and Jennifer were absolutely wonderful and accommodating. This is a great place to stay if you want to get away from the hectic pace of life and have a relaxing and peaceful vacation.

Perfect house and great location!

The home was beautiful and clean and was in a perfect location for our planned activities. It was conveniently located between Boone and Blowing Rock with many options for dining and sight seeing. Although it was just me and my husband, it would be great for a small family with kids. I highly recommend it#

A beautiful place

We truly enjoyed our stay at Bill and Jennifer's house. We loved the location, secluded, up a narrow paved road, but only a few minutes away from supermarkets and places of interest, both in Boone and Blowing Rock. Surrounded by trees, quiet neighbors near by and at night, complete silence. The house is well equipped and can comfortably sleep 6-8 people. It was exactly what we were looking for. Thank you Bill and Jennifer for sharing your mountain retreat with our family.

Long weekend getaway.

Very nice property. Great location to nearby Boone and Blowing Rock. Very clean and well-appointed. Plenty of mostly kids DVD's to watch as well as a couple of good grown-up movies as well. I had never experienced Sling TV but I have to say it is disappointing. You can read reviews of it to better understand why but my disappointment was being unable to watch an ABC national broadcast of my football team on Saturday. It was unavailable on TV, but I was able to view it streaming on my laptop. Major network live programs are basically non-existent on Sling. Aside from that hiccup it was a delightful stay and I would highly recommend the accommodations.

It took us 10 years to actually find a cabin here we liked. It had to be in a great neighborhood, close to everything yet in a secluded area that was beautiful! A tall order but we finally found this place and it was worth the wait.

Why they chose this property

We love this location. We looked for years to find the right home in a great area. It is nestled in a mountain community and has a private feel yet close to everything. You can be in downtown Blowing Rock in 15 minutes and Boone in 5-10 minutes. App Ski Mountain is 5 minutes -10 minutes away. Grocery stores are close by ( Publix and Harris Teeter in Boone).

What makes this property unique

Great location.Close to skiing, hiking, golf, shopping,Blue Ridge parkway, Linville Falls, Grandfather mountain, Tweetsie Railroad, gem mining, great restaurants and more. Cozy 3 Bedroom Log Cabin. All the comforts of home.

Take a hike on one of the many trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway, Greenway Trail (in Boone), Julian Price Park Moses H. Cone Park. Visit " The Blowing Rock". 5-10 minutes to Appalachian Ski Mountain, 30-40 minutes to Grandfather Mountain (great scenic drive, zoo & swinging bride), 30-40 minutes to Beech or Sugar Mountain (ski slope), Doc's Gem Mine: 5 minutes. Grocery Store (Harris Teeter & Earth Fare in Boone). We also enjoy walking around the Town of Blowing Rock (there are lots of neat shops,Kilwins for fudge or ice cream, wonderful restaurants, park & Broyhill Park). Town of Boone has great shops, restaurants, Mast General Store, Footslogger (outdoor sports store, has an outdoor climbing wall). We also like Valle Crucis Community Park (walking trails, playground, river) and there is another Mast General Store there too. Enjoy fishing at Trout Lake or try fly fishing at one of the many nearby creeks. Bring your swimsuit and experience Hebron Falls or Blowing Rock City Pool ( small fee per day, open during summer).

Snow Tubing at Hawksnest in Seven Devils is fun.

Tanner Outlet Shopping Center is Blowing Rock is 10 minutes away.

Only 10-15 minute drive to historic Blowing Rock. Wonderful Restaurants. Some of our favorites are Bistro Roca, Storie Street Grille, Foggy Rock Eatery, Six Pence, Best Cellar, Canyons,Twigs, Roots (stuffed trout is delicious). Five minutes to Boone where you can find all your modern day conveniences including Wal-Mart, CVS Harris Teeter Grocery, Come Back Shack, Hob Nob Farm Cafe, Vidalia, Casa Rustica, & more.
