Nantucket Island provides an historic and relaxing seaside escape year-round and so does our very special winterized ‘Sconset home.
The house sits on a VERY large piece of Sconset property, that's steps from the beach and ocean.
Recent renovations includes: heat/AC, hardwood floors throughout, recently renovated modern eat-in kitchen with new stainless steel appliances, spacious living room with island antiques & cable TV, WIFI, laundry room, 1 large bedroom on main floor w/ full bath, 2-large upstairs bedrooms w/ full bath. If you're lucky enough to score an upstairs bedroom, you can catch the nightly glimmers of the majestic Sankaty Head Lighthouse.
Additionally, the property includes back deck (that wraps around the backside of the house and faces into a private yard), toolshed, flagpole & flag, quintessential Nantucket landscaping, and private driveway with parking.
Available for year-round rentals, since the cottage is winterized!
Guest Access:
We are available to meet guests upon arrival, providing cottage access and keys. Or if easier, I am always happy to leave you a key upon arrival
Interaction with Guests:
Always available to our guests via cell & email during their stay, if needed, OR to answer questions about the island. I am typically also a short walk away, in case of emergency
The Neighborhood:
Located just 1-block from the ocean, and across the street from the famous sconset bluff walk, this charming home celebrates all the beauty of Siaconset, better known as ‘Sconset. Just a 5-minute walk to ‘Sconset village, beach, and Sankaty Head Lighthouse & golf course, you can enjoy all the joys of the island’s only true village.
‘SCONSET VILLAGE, BLUFF WALK & BEACH: Located at the eastern end of the island, Siasconset was settled in the early 17th century as a fishing village. Full of history and unique, charming beauty, ‘Sconset is a vibrant and welcoming community! The unique character of ’Sconset Village is due to the extensive conservation and preservation of the area and structures of historic & architectural significance in and around the village. Be sure and check out ‘Sconset Market and Claudette’s, for a tasty sandwich as you head to the beach or stroll through the rose cottages that hug the picturesque coastline. Additionally, the famous & delicious Summer House Beachside Bistro, Nantucket’s only restaurant overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on the eastern end, is located in ‘Sconset and cannot be missed, if you are looking for an evening of fine dining & island elegance!
SANKATY HEAD LIGHTHOUSE: This epic, historic lighthouse stands as a sentinel for all who come to visit and enjoy the peaceful setting atop Sankaty Head bluff, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Sankaty Golf Club.
Getting Around:
Nantucket has car and moped rental services, bike rentals, taxis, Uber, and public transportation. Coming to the island without a car can be much easier with all of these options; however, if you do rent or bring a car, the cottage has its own private driveway that can accommodate several vehicles or other modes of transportation.
Nantucket is very pedestrian friendly, and it can be faster to get around on foot or bike due to the congestion in the summer. The island has an extensive network of bike paths, which make traveling by bike quite efficient. Walking and biking are also a great way to experience the many historic sites and natural beauty on Nantucket. Luckily our home is located directly across the street!
