Kirkwood Meadows: Hot Tub! Lifts 5min walk! The Meadows.
Beautiful furniture, carpeting and 40inch flat screen TV. You will love this 1 bedroom 2 bathroom condo. The Meadows is one of the only condominiums with a hot tub in the building (right down the hall). It’s literally across the street from all the action (hello lifts!) and you can ski in/ski out to the beautiful cross country skiing meadow in the back. There is a fabulous view of Sentinel Bowl (the top of chair 6)— one glance out the window and you’ve checked the conditions! The new furniture includes a king sized bed plus twin bunk beds for the bedroom. Also, a sleeper sofa in the living room. Other upgrades include a new microwave, new carpets and various end tables, etc.
Fabulous, cozy fireplace!
The Meadows is a very family friendly condominium. It has a huge living area with the classic lodge style and lots of little nooks for playing board games and reading next to big snowy views. Plus, did I mention Hot Tub!
Please note: the hot tub is usually turned off in the summer months.

This was really convenient for a short ski weekend. Condo is within a friendly and relaxed complex with shared lounge areas. Easy access to the shuttle.
The Meadows is a great location and this unit was just right for our family of three. Everything in good working order and as promised. We will definitely rent here again if its available
Everything was great! We a tad bummed the hot tub was closed. But it seemed like it could get crowded quick, so no biggy. Skiing was amazing as always!!
The meadows is a perfect location for both alpine and xc skiing within steps from condo. Unit is great, comfortably slept family of 4, great kitchen, and a super bonus to have 2 bathrooms . The unit is as described . Owners great communication. Recommend!
I enjoyed a quick trip for some last minute skiing before the Holiday crowds arrived. Ehren and Roxanne were gracious and responded to all my questions in a very timely manner. Thanks!
The property is well organized and worked well for us (family with 3 young kids). However it took us several hours to warm the place with the space heaters and the fireplace because the central heating system was not active just before the ski resort opened up, once the place was warm it stayed nicely warm. The garage space was also very convenient. The kitchen had sufficient utensils, there was some salt but no sugar, nor oil. We would happily go back
We really enjoyed our stay at "The Meadows" and would definitely stay again. It really is just a 4-5 minute walk from the lifts (even in ski boots!) and right at a shuttle stop if you don't even want to do that. The parking spot is nice as it is just down the stairs from the unit, and right at the exit closest to the lifts (great for dropping off the skis to store overnight). The hot tub is also great after a hard day skiing.and the kitchen is handy, especially given the fact that restaurant options in Kirkwood start to get scarce late in the season. Our daughter was fine with the bunk beds in the main bedroom, so this arrangement worked really well for our small family.
Wonderful condo just a few minute walk from Kirkwood lifts
Had a great ski vacation in late April staying at this condo. Not fancy - just a nice, close, comfortable space to relax in when not skiing. Good sized kitchen and family room area. We had to do some work and the internet connection was solid. There is a very large lobby in the building with couches and tables, so you can go down there to play board games or do work if you don't want to spend all your time in the condo. Ski locker near entrance to the building was very convenient. Shuttles came regularly, though we sometimes also walked to the lifts (just around a 5-8 min walk in ski boots). One item to know is that there are almost no stores near the Kirkwood resort and very few restaurants, so it's good to stock up on groceries in Reno or Tahoe before coming up. Host quickly responded to the one or two minor questions we had. Strongly recommend!
My party (including our 1 yr old pup) were attending a late-July wedding at the Kirkwood Resort and were happy to find this nearby condo that was per friendly.
Location within the resort was perfect, very walkable. The beds were very comfortable. The complex as a whole shows its age (e.g. cosmetic damage to walls, older fixtures, luggage racks falling apart, etc), but we didn't stay indoors much. We were visiting in the off season, so almost everything was closed. The condo itself is carpeted throughout (except the kitchen and wc/shower area) which struck me as odd from a housekeeping/cleaning standpoint but I'm sure helps keep the place warm in peak season.
Property owners were very responsive to messages. They even gave us a heads up on a maintenance issue the previous tenants discovered that unfortunately would not be seen to in time for our reservation. So the heads up was appreciated.
I would say our only negative experience was that there was A LOT of construction going on during our stay. Lockboxes were attached to a 2x4 laying on the ground near the entrance. Lots of debris around street side of the building. Construction materials were piled in the reserved parking stall right next to ours and had me nervous that something would fall over onto our rental. The underground garage was left open during the day. Construction, both at the property across from us and ours often started at 7am with loud machinery and hammering. This led to some rude awakenings and made us close the windows first thing in the morning. I understand that off season is the least disruptive time for this work to be completed, but it would have been nice to have had a warning. I'm sure visitors will enjoy the exterior facelift during peak season.
Bottom line it suited our needs for the few days we needed to be onsite.

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
Disliked: Check-in
Overall fine--pros and cons
In short, this small condo has everything you need. Not fancy or updated, but a clean space with a comfy King bed, good pillows, 2 bathrooms, and a functional living/kitchen area. There's a fold-out couch for those who might need more bed space. Lovely amenities in bathroom (lotion, hand wash, etc). Games in closet a nice touch. There are luggage carrier racks in building lobby for bringing stuff upstairs. Nice lobby area with pretty view out the back.
The down side was arriving without having received advance warning about the current construction (installation of double pane windows, new siding). Construction noise started at 7 AM. Somewhat complex check in process was an extra hassle due to construction and location of lock boxes. There are multiple door/garage codes to keep track of. Bathroom off kitchen had broken door knob on inside. Husband was locked in & grateful I was there to open door for him! Kitchen/bath floors need replacing or updating as does wallpaper peeling in spots. Only one small spoon included with silverware set. There's a tea kettle visible on online pictures but there isn't one in condo. One of 4 table chairs is broken and tilts over. Be careful! MBR closet full of supplies/bags of bedding. Had to rearrange to make any room to hang a couple things. Air freshener/potpourri scent used in building hall is strong and could be bothersome to those with sensitivities.
The place was very clean, especially the bathrooms. Host was responsive and answered our many questions quickly. Check-in was not super clear but we figured it out. Read carefully--many codes and lock combinations. The condo was functional, clean, and very close to skiing. We would stay here again next season.
I really loved this place for a weekend of skiing with my two boys. The building and some parts of the condo are a bit dated, but just as long as you know to expect that, it’s all good. Furniture and beds were very comfortable. Kitchen had everything I needed. I really loved having a wood burning fireplace. Location is great, just a short walk to the lifts. I will stay here again.

Resort shows signs of age
Overall, the resort is showing signs of age.
- Hot tub closed for repairs
- Unable to regulate heat other than leaving windows open. The place was 73 F which is too hot to sleep in.
- Dimly lit hallways with ugly, broken tiles
- Completely deserted at check-in time. Not clear where the lock boxes are, barely able to make out completely faded number once we finally found them. You should update the description to make it clear where the lock boxes are.
- $200 extra for my dog. I'm fine with an extra deposit, but why do I have to pay $200 more? Yes, it was listed correctly as an extra charge, I just don't agree with it, especially at such a dumpy place.
- Not their fault, but Kirkwood closes the back-side if there's a stiff breeze. Which limited us to basically a single lift all day.
I'll likely skip Kirkwood altogether next season. Too few options leads to over pricing.

Great location, clean, responsive owners
Can’t beat the location and the accessibility to Kirkwood. It was a nice touch for the place to have coffee/tea/ear plugs and toiletries. Will want to come back again.

Good Kirkwood Ski Condo.
We arrived at check-in (4 PM) and the place had not been cleaned. The owner or manager had people come and clean it immediately and it was ready by 5 PM. Not really a big problem but why should we have to deal with it at all? The unit was more or less as advertised, not fancy but OK. We have stayed at Kirkwood many times over the years usually at the Meadows where this is and all the places there are about the same. Everything we tried worked. Garage parking was convenient and the Hot Tub was great.
A few other things. The heat pipes were very noisy at night, not easy to sleep. Probably this is not the responsibility of the owner of this unit. Lastly, read the fine print, there is a cleaning fee and some other fee that total to a substantial part of a night's stay. VRBO should make these fees clear when viewing properties, I am not saying they are hidden but they should be highlighted exactly like the per-night cost.

comfortable overall
The place was overall really comfortable and the owners were super responsive. We got there at 4:30 and the place hadn't been cleaned yet. It was annoying because it was very clear that check in and check out times were rigid due to the cleaning schedule. I texted the owners and they responded within minutes and were on top of it until they got the cleaners in the unit (which was about 20 min). The cleaners were very nice and worked as quickly as they could while being thorough. It would have been nice to come in and start the vacation right away rather than wait. The only other area that needed attention was the kitchen. Many of the pots and pans were quite dirty with baked on grime and needed to be scrubbed before we used them.

Delightful cozy condominium within walking distance to lifts and outstanding skiing!
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this very clean, warm, snug, roomy and pleasant condominium. The kitchen provided a full size refrigerator, stove, and a brand new microwave, which afforded us the luxury of preparing delicious warm meals after full days of skiing on the mountain. The beds were very comfortable with crisp clean and warm bedding. The brand new carpeting and furniture was really nice. The added bonus of being able to park under the building out of the snow was awesome. The added fact that there are two bathrooms ensured our comfort even more. We definitely will stay again and most likely make this our go-to place for all of our ski vacations in the future. We had a great time! Thank you again Ehren and Roxanne!

Great Snow!
We arrived just before a storm and left just after it ended. 4 days and 36" later! Condo is comfortable for 3, maybe 4. Would be nice to have TV or at least furnish connectors so someone can connect their computer to the TV. We were anxious to watch basketball finals and tough to do that on computer screen.
Overall good location. Minimal dining options in this ski area though so bring your own food.

About the host
Hosted by Ehren and Roxanne Olson
We have been coming to Kirkwood for many, many years. After renting units in just about every complex, we chose the Meadows to buy because of the location, the hot tub, the huge lodge style living area, and the nicely laid-out condos.
