About this property

Silver Birch Suite - Professionally designed Guest Suite

The guest suite located on the lower level of our home has a comfortable, open-concept living space to welcome you and provide an enjoyable and relaxing "Home-Away-from-Home" stay.

We live on the main level of the house. Access to the suite is through the shared entrance of our home.

Our property is within walking distance to the "RARE" nature reserve and hiking trails overlooking the beautiful Grand River.

Sink back and relax in leather couches while watching HDTV. Netflix and high-speed internet provides you with all your media and computer needs. Or sit with comfort on leather chairs at the custom-made kitchen island.

The suite features it's own fully stocked kitchen with all amenities needed for making anything from a quick snack to a delicious homemade meal. The kitchen is complete with china, glassware, cooking utensils, microwave, fridge, stove and Keurig coffee maker. Laundry facilities available for guest use.

The two large bedrooms are designed with oversized windows to let the sunshine and fresh air in. Beds have comfortable hotel-quality mattresses, luxury linens, extra pillows and cozy blankets for a restful nights sleep. Both bedrooms are furnished with full-size dressers along with additional closet space.
Full size private bath with walk-in shower. Towels and toiletries are provided.
You will be provided with a door code unique to you that allows for easy and flexible access during your stay. Access to the suite is is through this shared entrance and common space on the main level of our home.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the shared backyard providing a very private treed, park-like setting with use of a Pellet Smoker and traditional built-in Brick BBQ. Multiple sitting areas on the expansive deck satisfies everyone's needs from the sun-worshipper to those preferring the shade.
A billiard table is located on the main level of the house which guests are welcome to use until 10:00pm each evening.

Our property is close to popular wedding venues such as Langdon Hall, Cambridge Mill, Whistle Bear, Tapestry Hall.

Our House Rules: not suitable for infants under 2, not suitable for children aged 2 - 12, primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, no pets.

Stay booked for bridal party to get ready prior to the wedding

Debbie & Harry were very gracious and welcoming in allowing the bridal party ,for my daughter, to use their location as a way to get ready for the wedding. To open their home and allow the girls to have a spacious spot to get dressed and have their photos taken in their lovely home and backyard was a beautiful start for the perfect day. Thanks again Debbie & Harry for allowing this special moment to happen.

So many extra touches!

We had a great stay at Silver Birch Suite! Everything was as advertised, a lovely space with comfortable beds and couches and a kitchen with everything we needed. But, it was the extra touches that made us feel so welcome! Snacks, coffee/tea, water, a guide to the area created by Harry and Debbie, and a sign welcoming us personally to the space were just a few of the extras. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent Place

Very Clean and beautiful place maintained very well. Harry and Debbie are very accommodative. Although their listing rule (which I didn't notice) says not suitable to kids below 5; We went with a 3 year old very active kid. Landlords were so nice with the little one and all of us; I must mention their backyard, its a paradise on earth with lush green grass and trees, its a spectacular treat to your eyes, so relaxing. Wish I had sometime to chill in their backyard; nonetheless I will visit them next time only for the backyard.

This Vrbo stay had what we needed after a long day of travel. The hosts had a cute sign made up just for us! The suite was comfortable and actually looked better in person than the photos. Property was clean and updated. The minimum rules were clearly outlined in a welcome booklet along with suggestions of things to do in the area.Will stay again or back in Canada.

Both of us are long term residents of the area, growing up here and raising our family. Recently retired from our lifetime professions in the construction and pharmaceutical industries, we are now pursuing our new business and passion of renovating and updating old, tired homes for new owners to enjoy. Our family have aptly nicknamed us 'Designer Deb and Handy Harry'. Our new path has also lead us to entering the wonderful world of airbnb allowing us to create and design a 'home away from home' for you to enjoy and relax in when travelling.

Our Private Home is located in an upper scale neighbourhood in convenient driving distance to almost everything in Waterloo region and in close proximity to public transit, walking and biking trails, and minutes from the Hwy 401.
