Ski Season Is Booking Up Fast! Reserve Your Dates!

Hello and welcome to our home!

You will be staying in the walkout level of our house. It has nine foot ceilings. Although this is also our home, there is NO shared space. The 1500 sq ft rental is completely private for you.

We have the very best views of Lake Dillon and the entire Ten Mile Range. We are located in the best spot of Summit County - Dillon. We are central to all of the ski resorts in Summit County yet can offer quiet luxury. Keystone is 8 miles from our home and Copper is 13 miles away. Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, and Vail are also in very close driving range. In addition, Lake Dillon can be seen from our property (but not walkable). Everything you need including super markets, restaurants, the outlet mall and highway access, are all in very close to proximity to the home. Our amenities and décor is fantastic and modern. We have granite counter tops throughout, copper fixtures, a giant copper bathtub and a fantastic indoor steam sauna/shower. All beds are very comfortable with high quality linens and plenty of pillows to choose from. You have your own front loading washer and dryer. There are 2 televisions with a DirecTV and a DVD player. We also have a cozy gas fireplace that you can warm up to when the nights get cool. We have plenty of patio furniture on your own deck so you can enjoy the view of the mountains from your private patio. We have a private hot tub right outside your door.
This is the perfect location if you'd like a bit of seclusion, beautiful views of the mountains and the lake but yet proximity to get to the places you'll want to enjoy. This is a great area for skiers and non-skiers alike. There is so much to see and do and you will have a great launching pad from our home in Dillon.

The winter options are endless and we continue to find new things every season. You won't be disappointed. We are happy to provide recommendations and tips. We ourselves are avid travelers and believe in providing high quality at a reasonable price. Everything is provided for here. You don't have to worry about bringing your own towels or supplies. If you need it, we have it and will provide it. We want to ensure that our guests return. We are thrilled to have so many returning guests who book with us again the minute they check out. Cheers!

**Please note that in winter months, an all wheel (4WD) vehicle is required for our private road and to adhere to the traction laws on our interstates.

Stunning moutian views and great hospitality

Amy, our host, was super helpful and courteous. She greeted us and went over some key features that the lodging had to offer. It was a beautiful place with a private hot tub and patio over looking the moutains. We had the best experience and would highly recommend this place.

Fantastic Ski Birthday

Spent the weekend absolutely spoiled at this stay! The hosts were wonderful and checked in via text periodically to make sure everything was going well. Honestly the listing pictures DO NOT do this place justice. We had 6 adults stay here comfortably, the hot tub was great at the end of a ski day, and the view was phenomenal. Only think folks should know when renting: kitchen is more of a deluxe kitchenette, and if you go in winter try to rent a 4x4 or a heavier car as the road to the top is snowy, but WELL maintained!

Beautiful mountain home

My family really enjoyed our stay here. The house is just a few minutes from all the action, but yet you are in a very quiet neighborhood with only a few houses. The views are amazing. Tough to beat sitting in the hot tub after a big day on the slopes. We would definitely stay here again.

Most beautiful view

Private location but close to the lake, hiking trails and restaurants. Very comfortable accomodations. Host Amy is very professional, friendly and responsive. Great hot-tub, and the most beautiful view i've ever seen in Colorado (I'm a CSU grad). Hope to return next year.

Summit County ski trip

The spacious interior was upstaged only by the amazing mountain views, including from the private hot tub! The bedding was especially high quality, and there were plenty of towels and extra toiletries if needed. The ski boot warmer was a nice extra. Thanks to Amy and Justin, who are gracious and pleasant hosts. Can't wait to go back!

Exceeded my expectations!

I literally have nothing critical to say. The house was immaculate, it was more spacious than the photos showed, the view was like a painting and Amy and Justin (and Petey when she came around) were the greatest hosts. They have thought of every little detail. The Ugg blanket was a family favorite, the coffee was top-notch, the furnishings had understated Colorado charm. Stay…you won’t regret it!

Absolutely perfect!

Amy and Justin could not have made our stay any more enjoyable and easy. We were a little nervous traveling with a crawling standing 9 month old that gets into everything but the house layout and decor was very safe for a baby, we didn’t have to worry about anything dangerous he could get into. We also rented their car which was lovely until it had an unexpected mechanical problem which is a possibility with any vehicle. They promptly had a solution and provided their second vehicle so we had no time that we were without a vehicle. Linens and beds were so comfortable, the shower/sauna was a lovely treat after some long days on the slopes, the cleanliness was top notch and the views of the mountain range are breathtaking. I can only hope we have the opportunity to visit again and would absolutely stay here again.

Unique and comfy

Great place with a one of a kind view for VRBO’s. Nice people who are present on site. Everything works and is nice from the hot tub and grill to all inside appliances. Clean place with all you need. Really nice shower and tub.

We enjoyed staying at ptarmigan. It was easy to find and Amy greeted us when we got there. It had every thing we needed. We came for a nice birthday weekend. We would definitely go back.

Perfect location

This place is in the perfect spot to get away from the crowds but, close enough to everything. The view from the porch is breathtaking and we’re happy we chose this location. Amy and Justin were very kind and helpful to us during our stay. I only wish we had more time to stay.

Great place!

We very much enjoyed staying at this property, the view is nothing short of amazing. Amy was super great to work with, such wonderful people. Gorgeous Views and Fabulous Location

Mountain/Lake views both inside and outside the property were phenomenal. The changing Aspens were a special treat we didn't expect to experience so late in the season. Location was isolated and quiet, yet only minutes from grocery stores and excellent restaurants we enjoyed in Dillon and Frisco. The steam shower was amazing and the property was exceptionally clean. Everything was perfect for our first trip to Colorado and we wouldn't hesitate to rebook with Amy and Justin.

Great view

This was our first stay in Colorado and it couldn’t have gone better. Amy was helpful in recommending places to see and eat at. We were able to drive through some awesome views and the property itself had a great view. We were able to see the landscape pre- snow and after the first snow on the peaks. It was cool to have some mule deer visit us at the hot tub. I plan to recommend this place to my friends and family for trips and I hope to return as well.

Amazing place.

We wanted a place to get away and relax for 6 days to escape the day-to-day, and this couldn't have been more perfect. The property looks out over an AMAZING view of Dillon, and we have to say, from the on-property hot-tub, it's an amazing thing to behold. The interior is a 'classy lodge' kind of feel: lots of convenience in a cool, clean rustic package. Animal rugs, wood decor, a wonderful gas fireplace, smart TVs, and an AMAZING, large steam shower. Amy and Justin are fantastic owners on the property, and were attentive and helpful to us when necessary. If you're looking for a mountain getaway to be cozy, be a home base for vacay fun, or just to have some peace and quiet, you won't be disappointed. We plan on returning!!

Amazing View

The Ptarmigan Ranch cabin has the best views in Dillon! It was a great space for our family of 5. Great setup both inside and outside of the cabin to relax, hangout and enjoy the views. There was everything we needed in the kitchen and laundry room. The place was very clean and the beds are very comfortable. Justin & Amy are fantastic hosts and always willing to help out with recommendations and keep us on the lookout for bears! I will definitely stay again when we make it back to Dillon.

The BEST

We had a wonderful time! Hostess Amy welcomed us and showed us the ‘lay of the land’- very helpful! The kitchen was beyond well equipped! The beds and bathrooms were awesome!! And the views were simply incredible. We look forward to staying here again- hopefully!

Pros and cons list

Although I travel a lot, I rarely take the time to write reviews. But this time I wanted to make a point to take the time to do it because it was such a great experience all around. It was just my husband and Me traveling this time for our anniversary so we really didn’t need a place that has 3 king beds, but the great location, hot tub, and views sold me. I’ll start with cleanliness- I would have given this higher than 5 stars if I could. It was immaculate. Check in process- could not have been better. Amy greeted us and showed us around. I had even texted her as we were headed into Colorado to check road conditions and they called us to help us find the best route. Accuracy of listing- it was exactly as listed. Communication with property manager- Amy and Justin went above and beyond to answer any questions we had about check in, check out, the area, or the rental in general. Location- PERFECT!! Great location for any activities you want to do. We did many different activities and the farthest one was about 35 minutes away. But with that kind of scenery who minds a 1/2 hour drive? The house is also located within a few minutes of shopping and restaurants. But the great thing is even though you’re so close to everything the house is still secluded. This is the second time I’ve stayed in a VRBO that is in someone’s basement, and I can assure you there were absolutely ZERO concerns about privacy. Even using the hot tub in the evenings felt as though we were the only ones there. Other Pros- steam shower, soaking tub, comfortable beds, radiant heating that kept the floors warm (It was in the single digits most days we were there) THE VIEW, plenty of room, tile floors so we weren’t worried about tracking snow in, every appliance you can think of (all top of the line) and the most important pro- I don’t think we could have been in a safer location. I would not hesitate for one minute to book this property for a girls only trip. If I was forced to come up with a “Con” for this property it would be no full length mirror. Seriously that’s all I can think of. I’m so glad I chose this house over a condo. There are many reasons, but I’d say Amy and Justin being the most gracious hosts tops that list. They were just so kind and accommodating. Justin even let us have his parking spot closest to the house so my husband could plug his diesel truck in at night. Just book this property!!! You won’t be disappointed.
