Disappointed
To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I will first start off with the check in process. Check in time was 4pm. We never recieved any info so I had to contact them at 415 to get door code. We were coming into town with my parents for my daughters basic graduation. My parents arrived first and contacted me to see if I was exercising my 2nd amendment as they were concerned with the area. I figured this was just a hyperbole but once I pulled into the neighborhood realizing it was not a nice quite neighborhood. There was trash and mattresses out front of houses. This didn't give too much concern but seeing everyone parking their cars directly in front of their front door gave us a reason to research the area more. This is a high crime area and 31 sex offenders within 1 mile. Now on to the property. We chose this house because of the fenced in yard for your pets. The fence starts about 2 feet off of the house and the rest of the fence is dilapidated and or missing pickets. I have a 140 pound dog and if left in backyard would have easily gotten out. The yard itself has not been mowed or maintained. Mainly weeds and some up to my knees. ( I am 6'3) The listing shows this as a military personnel house but with the ripped and tatered American flag hanging outside I would beg to differ. I would say the house was vacuumed and mopped in the main areas but through cleanings are not done. We wouldn't even use one of the walking shower because the entrance, floor, and bottom wall was molded and not cleaned. The useable shower was clean but shower curtain was moldy. Although the furniture in the listing is the furniture in this house, the pictures do not give a clear understanding of the condition the rest of the house is in. Broken cabinets, oil residue on cabinets, gaps in the door and door frame allowing light and bugs in from outside. Broken chain on back door. Had to force metal back door open because it is falling apart. Laundry is in the garage, where no one cleans as it was filled with trash and dead cockroaches all over the ground. We was booked to stay 4 nights. We could only convince my parents to staying for 2 nights and we left a day early as well. We have pictures of everything listed if needed. Highly disappointed in this trip and booking from a veteran would have expected much more.
