About this property

Magnificent 18th century Provençal Mas in the Heart of the Luberon

Magnificent 18th century Provencal Mas; large shady courtyard under 300yr old Plane tree, swimming pool, summer dining room and beautiful gardens with lavender field.

This splendid old property is nestled in the Luberon between some of the most beautiful villages of France, Bonnieux and Roussillon, and very close to Goult, Lacoste, Gordes, Menerbes and Isle Sur La Sorgue. The Mas boasts 350 m² of living space; full of character and beautiful decor, surrounded by 5 acres of private land.

The entire property has been superbly renovated and re decorated with style and high quality materials while keeping most of the original features. It has one adjoining wall with an old Mas next door but both properties have entirely independent entrances and no views over each other.

There are 6 charming bedrooms all with ensuite bath/shower rooms, king size beds, queen size and singles. All have pretty views over the gardens, pool and courtyard. Two bedrooms are in the cottage annexe suite, accessed via a separate entrance from the courtyard and perfect for a small family or older guests. (Please note that in order to enter the upstairs bedroom of this suite one must go through the ground floor bedroom.)

The modern fully equipped kitchen has a central island with zinc top, american fridge with ice maker, La Conche stove with 5 gaz and 2 electric ovens. Granite work tops and plenty of cupboards, dishwasher, micorwave, coffee maker and plenty of glassware, cutlery and glassware etc. There is a separate laundry room with washer, dryer and ironing facilities.

A beautiful cool elegant lounge with impressive beam structure and leaded windows awaits you just off the kitchen area and beyond the spacious dining area. Comfortable modern sofas and armchairs are ready to relax in by the old stone fireplace. The floors have the original tiles and the stone walls keep the heat out in the hot summer. A splendid wooden farm table and chairs in the dining area are perfect for evening meals when you are not eating outside under the amazing plane tree on the huge outdoor table, which seats 12+.

A pretty cosy tv room is available for those who wish to keep up with the latest news and there is an office corner for computers if you really have to work.

The adorable summer dining room is well equipped with a gas BBQ with table and chairs for 8-10 people. Lovely outdoor furniture is available to settle down into whilst sipping our local rosé wine and the fabulous pool 14 x 4m is calling you all for a refreshing swim. There are plenty of sunloungers and parasols.

This splendid property is perfect for those who wish to visit the Luberon and at the same time have a relaxing holiday with either family or friends. There are many restaurants and cafés in the charming villages and numerous wineries to visit, markets for fresh produce and so many activities for adults and childen.

Marseille and its port, Cassis and other beaches are within an 1.30 hrs drive and you have the magical Camargue area to visit with it's beautiful wildlife, horses, flamingoes and wild bulls. Nime and Arles are not far either with their history and Aix en Provence, Avignon are definately worth a days visit.

Perfect Provence
Can’t say enough good things about this home. We were a three generation family and it was perfect for our needs. Everyone had their own space and both the house and the grounds were beautiful. They even arranged a local chef to prepare dinner our first night since our flight was too late for us to shop and cook. A perfect way to begin our stay with a gorgeous meal under the giant plane tree. A week was not enough - hope to visit again someday!

Fabuleux

Absolutely lovely stay
Our group had the most amazing time and couldn't have asked for a more perfect home. Besides an issue with the wifi, our stay was magical.

A real treasure
The house location was fantastic and absolutely beautiful! The number of bedrooms with private baths made this house perfect for small groups. The home was well equipped and the staff was so helpful during our stay. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful home in the Luberon!

Fantastic venue for a family and friends gathering
My husband and I rented this property to celebrate our 40th anniversary with friends and family. It worked out perfectly. The house is well-appointed with a huge living/dining area, outdoor dining area, five very comfortable bedrooms, each with its own bath. The kitchen is well-equipped. Beverly, the property manager, arranged for a chef to come prepare dinner on the day of our anniversary and she also put is in touch with a bike rental company that delivered four bikes directly to the house. The location (which is actually closer to Rousillon than Bonnieux) is well- located - - close to the many their hill towns of the Luberon and also near dedicated bike paths and a terrific vegetable stand. The house itself is charming and comfortable. We had a great time.

A magical week in Provence
Words cannot adequately describe what an amazing property this is! I wanted to spend my 40th birthday in a beautiful location with friends and family, and I cannot imagine a more perfect spot than Le Tresor Cache. The house is located in a prime spot for exploring the Luberon. We'd visit the local villages in the morning to pick up supplies for the day, and then spend most of the afternoon swimming in the pool. The kitchen is well stocked, and we enjoyed cooking there most nights. We also had Angelina cook a couple of nights. She was very lovely, and if possible, make sure she cooks a potato gratin for you. Her deserts are amazing too. Some of the highlights of our trip: Farmers market in Coustellet (only in summers) Maison Gouin in Coustellet- picked up wine, pates, salami, and steaks to grill Driving to Bonnieux in the mornings for pastries Riding bikes on the windy roads Walking to Pont Julien Hiring a private boat in Marseille and swimming in the Callanques Wine tasting in Chateauneuf du Pape Buying rose at Chateau la Canorgue (just down the street) Watching the sunset at Lacoste Market days (any of them!) Berverly was super helpful throughout the whole process. Especially when I had to call her from the airport when they lost our luggage! She gave the airlines directions to the house so they could deliver it a couple days later. She also checked in during the trip to make sure we had everything we needed. It was a wonderful vacation, and I highly recommend this property. We loved it so much that we're going back in March for a family celebration!

Gorgeous Dream Holiday in Provence
I rented this property as part of a dream trip I was hosting for seven other Australian women, so I needed the villa to match everything I had seen on the website ... and more! I am delighted to advise this is such a lovely property, it fully captured the vibe of what I was wishing to share with the women on our tour. And most importantly, the support we received from the manager, Beverly and her team was absolutely crucial to the success of the week. Nothing was too much trouble and all my dealings with Beverly were pleasant, efficient and productive. The villa is glamorous and gorgeous, just something fabulous out of a style or design magazine. Everything was beautifully styled and presented. The bedrooms and bathrooms were a very high standard. The kitchen is a cook's dream - and we hired Angelina, the adorable cook for two absolutely exquisite meals during our week - and it all just worked wonderfully well for us all. We all particularly loved the pool area. Lounging around having quiet afternoons snoozing, and then launching into gin and tonics at 5.00pm for a great party by the pool at dusk, was ... too much fun. Everything about Le Tresor Cache was fabulous. We all loved it, and I'm happy to say this can easily be anyone's perfect 'home from home' whilst holidaying in Provence

Provence perfection
This house is a winner. Centrally located in the Luberon Valley - close to many beautiful villages. The house is beautiful - spacious and well decorated bedrooms, a well equiped large kitchen, beautiful indoor and outdoor dining areas and a refreshing pool area - perfect for a dip and a nap after a day of exploring. The house is beautifully maintained and very well managed by the always helpful Beverly. Highly recommended

Great Multi-Family Vacation Home in the Heart of the Luberon
We had a wonderful stay at Le Tresor Cache, last week. We were three families with six adults and six children ages 10-19. This home provided everything we needed both in terms of amenities and location. The pictures do not do justice to the size of the Mas, in our opinion, or the outdoor living space that is important to summer travelers with kids. We most enjoyed the flow between the interior and the outdoor living spaces that were all interconnected. The outdoor space is where we spent most afternoons after day-trips to the markets and surrounding towns nearby and far as Marseille-all within ten minutes to an hour and a half drive from the house. The outdoor space encompassed the outdoor living room area that had very comfortable searting for all, a covered outdoor dining room/kitchen with fireplace, an additional space for dining in the courtyard under the gorgeous plane tree, and the pool area including an outdoor bathroom and changing house, a pergola and seating areas by the pool. The pool was great for the kids, big in comparison to some we have experienced in other houses, and given the close proximity to the outdoor living room, it was perfect space for both adults and kids to each enjoy the beautiful afternoons and evenings. The plane tree provided a gorgeous shady canopy in the courtyard on particularly hot days, and the phenomenal mistral winds we experienced on a few of the evenings during cocktail hour also cooled us all after a sunny hot day . There was plenty of sleeping space, several places for the kids of different interests and ages to hang out, and opportunity for those who needed to remain connected to the world beyond Bonnieux for partial working vacations, to do so. Who knew three families would have over 30 Apple devices on vacation? Le Tresor Cache is a modernized Mas that truly responded to the different needs of everyone in our big group ! The kitchen had every gadget and appliance we needed, to satisfy our enjoyment of cooking great meals each night together. With close proximity to the local farms, and local vineyards, we enjoyed fresh picked Cavaillon melons each morning and frequented the farm stands that were stocked with over 15 varieties of heirloom tomatoes and other local produce. We were very happy to support the local Cave Cooperative to taste and purchase the local wines to the Luberon region ! For summer travelers, we recommend this home given the incredible outdoor living space! Thanks Beverly! A la prochaine!
