My husband and I absolutely loved our stay here for my birthday! I wanted to get away from it all and just feel sort of “off the grid” in nature (while still being comfy), and this was the perfect spot for that. The creek and lake behind the cabin are gorgeous, and there are multiple trailheads within a short drive. It feels very private but is only about 10 mins from the city of Talladega for groceries, gas, etc. The cabin itself is so cute and cozy - feels very homey and curated with love. Jerry was such a nice host and easy to communicate with. We’re already talking about coming back when it’s warmer and maybe doing some fishing and more hiking next time.
Truth in Advertising should be paramount in a listing. If amenities are unable to guests, for whatever the reasons, or if the property has not been cleaned per Vrbo standards, then the listing should be removed until it is ready for renting. Contacted host for such issues and requested a partial, fair refund. Owner responded by refunding less than what I conservatively requested despite his acknowledging that my complaints were "honest, fair." Disappointing. The cabin needs much attention, except for the bedding and towels. Those linens were nicely cleaned. Cudos to whoever was doing the laundry! Ask for real-time photos of the amenities before you book. Owner has vowed to give attention to our valid complaints; however, "Trust, but verify," as the saying goes.
Hate to give too good of a review, more people will reserve it and make it harder to find availability. All kidding aside it was absolutely a wonderful stay. All you need is food and clothes. Everything else is provided. Reading material, gas grill and the view. Jerry the host is great. returns messages immediately. Best cabin deal for the money I've ever stayed at. I will be going back.
We simply enjoyed the total peace and quiet at this cabin; our car never moved. The kitchen is very well furnished, the beds are comfortable & I spent a lot of time on the porch reading and relaxing. Jerry keeps the place very clean and well maintained. This is a true get away literally at the end of a road.
I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my stay at this lovely and magical feeling cabin. From the design details to the location to the owner's hospitality to the overall comfort and beauty of the cabin and the location, it was all simply wonderful. Hope to stay here again one day. Highly recommend!
My son and I spent 4 days at this cabin. I would not hesitate to stay here again! It was clean quiet secluded, shaded, at the end of the road. There will be no one bothering you staying here.If you’re needing to reset and have peace and quiet this is the place. Jerry was a great host!
Absolutely perfect place to disconnect from the demands of life and reconnect with the Lord and our marriage.
Absolutely loved how the kitchen and living area had so many windows that you felt like you were outside. Enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the creek and sitting on the bench by the fire pit to reflect and pray. The kitchen was very well stocked. The collection of books were lovely. We also enjoyed the tub room with a view of the creek. The craftsmanship of the cabin and furnishings are remarkable. We enjoyed noticing new details of craftsmanship throughout our stay. If you are looking for absolute privacy and to relax and unwind this is the perfect place. Isolated yet 10 minutes to town and restaurants. We will definitely be coming back.
This cabin was a wonderful getaway from the fast paced life we live. It was tucked away at the end of a rural road, secluded by woods. We enjoyed the privacy of the place. We had everything we needed, AC, a full kitchen, and a comfortable bed, very close to several hiking trails. The owner, Jerry, was very friendly and offered his assistance with anything we needed. He lives close by which I found comforting. I would highly recommend this place and may come back during different seasons just to enjoy the nature of Alabama.
This cabin was perfect for myself, husband and two adult kids. It was at the end of a long country road so it was quiet and peaceful. The creek and sounds of cicadas and frogs was all you could hear at night.
Beds and furniture were so comfortable. More than one person took a nap on the couch! AT&T cell service worked. There is a TV and DVD player with a selection of movies. There was plenty of books/magazines and a few games we could’ve used if we got bored.
Kitchen had everything we needed to cook every meal and the small grill outside was just the right size.
Everything was so clean and organized. There was plenty of towels, rags, paper towels, dish soap, trash bags and blankets.
Mr Jerry was the perfect host. We wanted to watch 4th of July fireworks and he made sure we knew where to go to see them.
We would definitely stay here again!
My husband and I had a great honeymoon, we fished and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. No mosquitoes or bugs which was awesome. We hope to go back one day
The property was beautiful and secluded. The cabin was fully stocked with anything we needed to have a great stay. The host was amazing and very attentive to our needs. Jerry went over and above in making us welcome.
My girlfriend and I stayed there for our anniversary weekend and it was perfect. Beautiful scenery and cute, well put together little cabin. We took in the hiking nearby at Cheaha and lvoed every minute we stayed. We'll definitely be coming back
Our stay for 4 adults was very comfortable. Location was great! Host could not have been more helpful and friendly. 2 of us hunted turkeys in the national forest and 2 others spent time crappie fishing. The fish and turkeys were not cooperative. But the host, house, property, etc. could not have been better. We even backed 2 fishing boats down the drive and had room to park in front of the house. We had a wonderful couple of days!
