About this property

Apartment with Shared Pool & Breathtaking Mountain and Sea Views.

Enjoying a quiet, elevated position, on the foothills of the breathtaking L'Esterel mountains. Here the landscape is at it's most dramatic , between St Rapahael and Cannes, jagged red rocks merge into the deep blue of the sea. There are truly Magnificent views overlooking the bay of Miramar and Cannes, our apartment is a fantastic base to explore the beauty of the Cote D'azur, the perfumed gardens of Provence and the wonderful beaches and restaurants of the small fishing village of Theoule Sur Mer.
Cannes is just a 10 minute drive away, Monte Carlo 1 hour, French Alps (90 mins away), or maybe visit St Tropez, take the boat from Theoule beach to Cannes or Monte Carlo, St Tropez, or the nearby magnificent Islands, The Ille De Lerrins and leave the car behind.
In the evenings have a BBQ and chill out in the private patio/garden with a bottle of wine (or two) and watch the ever changing colours of the sea, the mountains and the sky as the evening sun fades. If you like walking and hiking or mountain biking, then right behind the apartment are a network of mountain trails, through the Esterel Mountains. Nearby is the second deepest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon, the spectacular Gorge Du Verdon.
Our surrounding area offers outdoor enthusiasts the best in walking, hiking, horse riding, mountain biking, golf, or just sunbathing on the patio and the occasional cool down in the pool. We have plenty do in the apartment with a plethora of DVD's and CD's, games, acoustic guitar.....Have fun
At this point I'll hand you over to Norman Pseud.
'Nor must we forget to mention the softly swaying palms; the parasol pines, fiercely clinging to the rocks; the hustle and bustle of the seaside towns, the quiet of the mountain and coastal villages; or the smooth cascade of mountain streams over rocks on their travels to the coast. All of this bathed in a myriad of golden rays. The generous sun streaming out of blue cloudless skies. Visitors dangle their feet in the deep blue sea and possibly visit the dolphins and whales, whilst contemplating, in the distance.... the snow capped mountains of the glorious French Alps, the long languorous bays of...........Sorry ....Ive just become too pretentious...... Goodbye

Very enjoyable stay
Lovely apartment in a quiet location with amazing views. Andy and Sharon are great hosts giving directions and advice on restaurants etc. The apartment is well equipped with plenty of towels and beach chairs etc in the garage. The pool is great, my son was delighted that he could use it until 10pm. The walks in the Estérel hills are stunning.

Unnacceptable
Without doubt the worst rented accommodation I have stayed in and certainly unfit for a holiday, unless you are a single person with relaxed views on odours and hygiene. Normally I would think twice about leaving a negative review. In this instance, we were forced to seek alternative accommodation after just one night. Firstly, the space is tight. The small double bed only just fits in the bedroom. The living room/kitchen are considerably smaller than they look in the photos. Watching television becomes an intimate experience. Things get worse when using the bathroom and seperate toilet, both of which suffer from the combined (strong) odour of chemicals and bodily waste. The property is poorly cleaned and maintained. The bunk bed has bedding well past it's best and when removed, the sight of spiders scuttling away tells you that you are probably in the wrong place. Ditto the sofa. Please note that it is down to the occupants to clean the place and only your bedding is changed on arrival. Lastly, the common areas are dark and dingy. We called and texted the owner on our first day. Their response was to ignore our communication. Our holiday, in the end, was great. But only once we had booked accommodation elsewhere.

Summer Holiday
Stayed here for two weeks in the peak summer season. Descriptions on this site are accurate and Andy answered all my queries rapidly. As per previous reviews the apartment is really well stocked with DVD's and lot's of beach kit to use. An excellent welcome pack to give you ideas of how to fill your time. Views are stunning and the local beach "La Figurette" is great for a young family and not as crowded as nearby Theoule. There is so much to do in this area but we did make use of the railway family tickets (short drive to station) to go to Italy and Monaco - less hassle and no searching for parking spaces! Would recommend and hope to be able to come back one day

Superb Riviera and Provence location.
It is the third time we have come to stay at Les Terrasses, and we cannot recommend it enough. The owners have supplied everything one would need and more to enjoy a holiday. If you havn’t been to the Cote D’Azur before, you are in for a treat here. We have been by boat to St Tropez and Monte Carlo,,, only one hours journey to each. You can catch the boat all the way there from the nearby fishing village of Theoule Sur Mer. (Which by the way has it’s own array of the most spectacular beaches and beachside restaurants/bars). It is worth spending a day on the nearby Islands opposite Cannes, Les Isles Des Lerins, take your snorkelling gear from the garage, eat at the wonderful restaurant on the beach below the prison, where the man in the iron mask was imprisoned. This restaurant, boasts black and white photos of so many great film stars from Sophia Lauren, Frank Sinatra, Jack Nicholson, George Clooney ............This where they can escape on a yacht to have a more private lunch, whilst at the Cannes Film Festival. Cannes is only 20 minutes away by car. We visited the wonderful mountain village of Mougins and also St Paul D’Vence. Paid 6 euro for a galss of wine at Colombe D’Or retaurant and sat underneath real Picassos which adorn the walls here. Also a visit to the second largest Canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon, the Gorges du Verdon, not far inland through the purple fields of Provence, north of Grasse. The Gorge has to be seen to be believed. Otherwise we just loved spending days on the wonderful beaches of Theoule and La Figueritte, or relaxing by the pool. Travelling along the stunning coast road to St Rapheal, you can climb down to secret beach coves.. Most evenings we liked to take a walk up into the mountains behind the apartment, along the many hiking trails. And at the end of the day.......Shooting star watching, just laying in the garden late at night, milky way above. One other thing that is good fun, when snorkeling, try putting a baggette in your speedos or swimming shorts, it is best you do this just as you enter the water to save offence............? Once you are swimming with your snorkel and mask, release some bread, you wont believe the amount of chick’s......sorry fish suddenly surrounding you. All in all we can’t wait to go back. Enjoyable holiday
Visited Les Terrasses for a week in June and had a fantastic time. The apartment is very well equipped. There is an excellent choice of books ,games,CDs and DVDs available should you wish to use them.It is an ideal location for visiting the cote d'azur. We took the ferry from St Raphael to St tropez during our stay which was an excellent day out.Another recommendation is to visit the islands of St Honarat and St Marguerite. You can catch the boat from Cannes to visit these islands. The weather was great during our stay so it was relaxing to spend some time around the pool and to chill out some evenings dining al fresco on the patio. It was also very beneficial to have wi-fi in the apartment.Recommend le patio restaurant which is located near by.This was a lovely holiday and I will definitely return to Les Terrasses.

Home from home apartment, amazing views
We both chose the french Riviera because I like a ‘beach holiday’ but my partner can’t sit still and likes a bit of cultured holiday. The Cote D'Azur suited both of us and this apartment was a great place to experience both. We could visit museums and art galleries in Nice and Mougin, and get back to the apartment later to soak up the afternoon sun around the superb pool, (this is a small private gated enclave where apparently the majority of owners live in Paris and only use it at the weekend, so we often had pool to ourselves, all day). We often took a scenic drive along the coastal road, into the local fishing village of Theoule, where there are numerous great beach bars and beaches. Also there is a great beach down the road at La figuerite where there are all kinds of watersports, this is a great place for snorkelling. Most nights, we would take a cycle ride on the quiet roads nearby, the owners have left a couple of cycles in the garage. it is greatt to cycle up the hill past Pierre Cardins wonderful “bubble” Palace. Then after a BBQ on the terrace, you can retire to watch one of the huge selection of DVDs. We found the welcome book particularly helpful with recomendations for days out, ( St. Tropez, Monte Carlo, Antibes, St Raphael, The Gorge Du Verdon (France’s answer to The Grand Canyon), which has to be visited. There is so much to explore here on the Riviera and we definitely plan to go back for more and can highly recomend this well equipped apartment to keep all the family entertained. A huge bonus was the fact all towels are provided. In this Ryanair /Easyjet world where everything is weighed and ‘weight' means ‘mega money', this was really helpful. we can’t recommend a stay here more highly.

Fantastic
We have stayed at the apartment 5 times now and have booked again for our 6th. Stunning location, apartment has always been immaculate as is the gorgeous swimming pool. The whole complex is well kept and always clean and tidy and very quiet. Fantastic to have wifi in the apartment and the use of a laptop, tv and DVD player. The choice of films and books are great so you can relax and watch a movie after a day on the beach or by the pool or after a lovely meal out. The towels at the apartment mean we never have to load up our suitcases with our own towels. Bed linen always fresh and clean. The new washing machine in the apartment means we can wash and dry most of our washing before we come home so we don't have piles of washing to come back too. The welcome book is full of helpful advice and tips to ensure your holiday is the best it can be. All in all this apartment offers the ideal home from home holiday to anyone wanting the kind of break that you can relax and unwind as a couple or with children, at a stunning quiet scenic location with great local beaches which are quiet and clean and friendly restaurants, read and soak up the sun, watch a movie or play the guitar and enjoy some music watching the sun set over the Riviera. Walks up in the Esterel mountains offer some stunning views and are great for trail running or mountain biking, which you don't have to hire as they have some there kept in the garage. It's close enough to Monaco, Cannes and not far from St Tropez, and if you like exploring, Gourges du Verdon is the second largest Grand Canyon in the world and makes a great day out. We are in our mid 30's and find everything we could ask for on this holiday. We couldn't recommend this apartment more highly and will keep going back.

ESTEREL Coast
We enjoyed a beautiful week at this apartment, 2 adults 2 children and a baby. All mod cons and plenty of extras. There was no air conditioning and on really hot days was difficult with a 6 month old, but generally was nice to acclimatise and enjoy great weather. Stunning communal pool with exceptional views. The week flew by and we ran out of time to use all the extra kit in the garage, bikes etc. great for walking. Watch out between dusk and midnight for wild boar that visit the garden, animal watch.

Dreadful
There were no review possibilities last year on this website so we were unable to leave our comments and the only reason we are bothering now is because of the awful experience we had in this apartment. The area is spectacular and there is indeed a sea view from the communal pool and the weather was perfect during our stay; the pool is a good size and quite pleasant. However, we found the apartment dirty and in dire need of upgrading and refurbishment. Walls cluttered with dust-collecting personal objects, the owners' belongings everywhere. Grubby hand written labels on every door or surface and object in the place. Particularly horrid bathroom with plastic sink, tired mismatched towels and bedding. Generally so far below the standards expected, and not cheap.

Lovely stay
We thought the apartment was terrific and we enjoyed our stay, we did use lots of the additional facilities such as the Wi-fi, snorkeling gear, lilos, DVDs and books about the local area which were an absolutely brilliant addition to our stay. It is an expensive area to stay in and not having to purchase additional, small but essential holiday items was really helpful. The kids really enjoyed reading the welcome/info book and used it to plan days out. The location of this apartment means it is a great base for exploring the French Riviera (With car). We went to places such as St Tropez, Cannes, Nice, Antibes and Monaco none of which took more than an hour (We traveled to Monaco by train which we highly recommend...fabulous views!)

About the host

Host profile image
It was a terrifyingly dark and stormy night, on the remote Scottish island of Thronso. Jasper the one legged, one eyed mute was about to.........Anyway let's not worry about that, as our story really begins in the glorious South of France.
Hi I'm Andy and my partner is the strange and beguiling Sharon.
She is very silly, but very nice and I am a Rock Star.

Why they chose this property

Because one can have a beach holiday AND a cultured holiday should you wish. Museums and Art Galleries, Opera, or Rock concerts are in nearby City Of Nice. Or, other suggestions..
Day 1 day, visit Monte Carlo,
Day 2, visit Saint Tropez,
Day 3, visit Cannes,
day 4, relax by the pool,
day 5, visit the local beaches,Theoule,/Baie de la Figueritte.
Day 6, walk through the 'National Park' behind the apartment, l'Esterel mountains.
Day 7, visit the hillside town of 'Saint Paul De Vence', have lunch there or maybe just a drink at restaurant 'La Colombe D'Or', (google it:), this is the place where 20th Century artists, Picasso, Braque, Calder and Miro swapped their works of art for board and lodging. So, you can view these famous paintings of Picasso, Chagall, Miro and many more ordaining the walls..... No entrance fee,.... just the price of a glass of wine and you can survey the amazing art.
ahhhh, you need at least 2 weeks, or to come back year after year, like we do:)
