We were a family party of 8 adults - grandparents (early 70s), parents (early 50s), two grandsons each with a girlfriend (early 20s). The spacious villa accommodated us very comfortably with ample furniture both inside and on the pool and dining terrace outside.
Casa de Reyes is a superb villa presented to a very high quality, very clean, not the least bit dated, and extremely well equipped. The layout is very good, with all the living area on one floor (large open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area, plus utility room and separate WC, inside; and spacious dining area (shaded) and pool terrace outside. In addition to the two en-suite double bedrooms there is a further separate WC and separate large walk-in shower on the bedroom corridor. After arrival, we instantly felt comfortable, relaxed and "at home".
We were welcomed on arrival by the owner's charming local "agent" and were provided with a really comprehensive "starter pack" of essentials. A copious number of pool towels were also waiting for us.
The location of the villa is very convenient for going down to Sa Riera beachfront (several restaurants and tapas bars). It's 5 minutes by car, though parking down there can sometimes be tricky, and 5-10 minutes walk down a lot of steps. Coming back will take longer (!), but it keeps you fit, and is part of the charm of Sa Riera; all holiday villas being up the sides of the wooded valley leading down to the sea. It's a 5 minute drive up to Begur, the splendid little Spanish town at the head of the valley, with a buzzy central plaza, shops, and many more bars and restaurants. The whole area is characterful, caters for tourists, but is not the least bit "tacky", unlike some other areas of the Costa Brava. And there are several other beach villages and small towns within a maximum 20-30 minutes drive, all with a similar unspoilt, classy Spanish atmosphere.
There are several quality supermarkets within a few minutes drive of the villa.
We spent most of our time at the villa relaxing by the pool, and eating, drinking, and playing silly games - classic villa holiday life, in fact, in a villa admirably suited to this.
Thus, yes, we would recommend this villa to any and all of our friends and relatives; and it works perfectly well for families with younger kids - (although perhaps those with toddlers would need to be wary of the steps and the pool).
So thank you to Mr & Mrs King, for enabling us to have a great holiday in the House of the Kings!
