wow! wow! and thrice wow!

the photos of the property did not do itself justice as all of us wandered around the house/grounds with our mouths agog upon arrival.the space meant we all[2grandparents,3 grown up children, plus partners, plus one five month old baby] could disappear into or own areas if required,or meet in the huge lounge[what a spectacular room] and not feel we were crowding each other.the furnishing was tasteful and comfy and I dont think we wanted for anything.any reservations we had before arrival were quickly dispelled and not a cross word was uttered throughout the week.we all totally relaxed from the first minute and the experience proved to all of us we could have a family holiday together without getting on each others nerves.I have searched the websites to find a comparable property and to date I have failed.we are looking at a similar date in 2014 to return to maison montignac.

Fantastic Holiday at Maison Montignac

We had a wonderful time at Maison Montignac, it was perfect for our family group with ages from three to seventy nine. The house was clean and very well equipped and we appreciated the welcome pack on arrival, although the large supermarket was only two minutes away by car. There was plenty of room in the house and garden and it was easy to find somewhere for a bit of peace and quiet if you wanted to. The pool was very popular and a lovely temperature. It was fenced and alarmed, really marvellous for us as we had two small children in the party who could play in the garden without us adults worrying all the time. It was a nice touch that the pool towels were supplied and there were even lilos and beach balls there. The tennis court was also well used - a great addition for an energetic group! We took the easy option some evenings and used the services of two different catering companies - 'Sylvie and Pascal' and 'After Eight Catering' - what a treat - both produced delicious meals. We walked into Monsegur on Wednesday for the night market where there was a brilliant atmosphere and we all had a very enjoyable evening. The housekeeper Maureen responded immediately when we had a query about the pool - she resolved the problem straight away. We would certainly recommend this holiday to friends and will hopefully return in a year or two ourselves. M & T

Goede verzorgde woning, mooi kavel, fantastisch uitzicht, mooi zwembad

Magnificent

My party of 14 arrived at Maison Montignac on July 23rd 2016 and we were not disappointed. Every aspect of the property exceeded our expectations and if anything the online photos didn't really do the property justice. With the amount of internal and external room available it never felt crowded, the tennis court was a useful recreational resource in the mornings and the pool was lovely. The games room provided much evening entertainment! Being able to enjoy the beautiful weather by eating outdoors every evening was a real bonus. The property was clean, well maintained, beautifully furnished and we received first class service from Maureen and Andy. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone wishing to spend time in a beautiful part of France.

Five star accommodation perfect for large families

The property is perfect for large family groups and families with children. Well furnished and everything you need to cater for large groups. The pool is amazing with plenty of loungers and the tennis courts and games room provide fun for adults and children alike. We hired bikes and enjoyed some lovely cycles to nearby villages. The local supermarket and bakery in the village provide everything you need. We would highly recommend this property and wouldn't hesitate to go again.

A SUPERB RELAXING HOLIDAY FOR FAMILY GET TOGETHER

The "Summer Residence" La Maison Montignac was perfect for our family get together. There were 13 of us coming from Australia, France and UK.. Such a lot to do and see, Much use was made of the Tennis Court, Pool and other gaming facilities. The view from the lounge and garden was stunning as was the whole surrounding area. It was all so much better than we could possibly have imagined. Bordeaux was found to be marvelous. Go carting was much enjoyed by young and not so young. Us two oldies derived great pleasure being with and seeing our family enjoy themselves in a great setting. We much enjoyed relaxing and sampling local wines. The owners David and Tracey were most helpful with much info' provided. We would happily recommend this property and all that goes with it. Derek and Joan S.

Golden Wedding celebration family holiday

The location of this Gite was excellent and had all that the family wanted to relax and enjoy our holiday. We were able to walk into the village though some of the roadways were not so good as there were no paths until nearly into the village. The swimming pool was an immediate hit with everyone especially the children and the weather was wonderful. There was plenty of room around the pool area for everyone to have their space and we liked the security of the gate making it safe when children were playing in the garden, knowing that they couldn't get to the pool without an adult. The tennis court was well used and the games room was great, because of all this it meant that there was plenty to do without leaving the Gite. I understand that fly screens are being fitted to the windows which will be a big advantage as we did find that the flies were a nuisance at times especially when you wanted some fresh air in the bedrooms. We visited Duras on a Monday morning to see the market and buy produce and to visit the lovely Chateau and taste the local wine. We also went into Monsegur on Wednesday evening to experience the night market, and what an experience that was, it was something that we had never experienced before. Our understanding was that there were around 700 seats available at the tables set out in the centre and an abundance of food stalls to choose from, snails were also purchased and tried but not sure if they were enjoyed. We had a final meal at Le Grand Cep in the village the day before we left and we were looked after extremely well, the food was excellent and beautifully presented and so a lovely finish to our holiday. We had to contact Maureen the Housekeeper during our stay and we were looked after extremely well with a swift response to our enquiry. Also on arrival we were able to leave some of our luggage a bit earlier than the arrival time which helped us out very much and for that we thank Tracy and David for arranging this for us. And finally we thank them for making the booking procedure so helpful and easy from start to finish, it was a pleasure doing business with them and actually speaking personally to the same people throughout the arrangements.

A fantastic family holiday Gite

We had a wonderful stay in La Maison Montignac with our extended family of 8 adults and 7 grandchildren (2 to 12 years old). The property was immaculate, thanks to Maureen and her team, incredibly well equipped and had every facility you could wish for to keep the children (and adults!) amused. The location was perfect with an excellent supermarket within walking distance. The highlight of the week was the Wednesday night market in Monsegur; also Duras, St Emilion and Chateau de Monbazillac were well worth a visit. Tracy and David could not have been more helpful, making the whole rental process so easy. We would unreservedly recommend this property.

Spacious, well appointed & good for families

The house had plenty of space to accommodate our 6 adults and 5 children of varying ages, and has good facilities. We all particularly enjoyed the excellent swimming pool and sporting/games facilities. The surrounding area is pretty and quietly charming without being spectacularly so. The night markets in Monsegur and Duras were good fun and the chateau in Duras is well worth visiting. The owners provide good service. I can certainly recommend this property.

A charming farmhouse for a family holiday!

A charming farmhouse suitable for a family holiday! We were 4 families celebrating our parents 60th wedding anniversary, with an age range of 1 to 79 years and there really was something for everybody! The house was well equipped, clean and very comfortable, with lots of space for us all. The tennis court and games room provided endless hours of entertainment & fun and the pool/pool area was safe, clean, heated and very relaxing! The house was located only a short drive from several local villages and there was a local supermarket and market nearby for our everyday needs. We also visited Bordeaux, Bergerac and St Emilion which were only a short drive away. We particularly enjoyed a memorable wine tasting evening at a local chateau, along with a picnic provided by the lovely Sylvie. David and Tracey were most professional and very helpful from start to finish and we shall certainly use them again. In all we had a wonderful time at Maison Montignac and we would thoroughly recommend it for a family holiday.

A wonderful holiday

We arrived at the gite from Bordeaux airport, an easy journey of just over an hour. The written directions were great - we didn't need to use a map. The house is lovely - lots of space with some ground floor rooms for the elderly in our party. Everything was clean and the kitchen very well equipped. We were greeted with a welcome pack with some essential goodies and nice bottle of wine - a thoughtful touch. The gite has lots of outside space to sit and eat - we were lucky with the weather and sat out till late every night. Lovely views out over the fields. The heated pool is truly fabulous with lots of sunbeds and enough towels provided for both the pool and the bathrooms. There is a tennis court, table tennis, and pool table. The property is situated bang in the middle of miles and miles of vineyards so wine tasting was very easy to arrange! We went to Bertins and bought a couple of bottles to take home. The nearest supermarket is only a few mins away by car and although quite small, we got everything we needed there without having to go to any of the enormous ones. We went to the market at Duras and the chateaux - lovely town and quite close. We also went paddling on the Dordogne which was fun but not really suitable for little ones as the canoes are quite heavy and it's quite a long paddle! We had great customer service throughout the booking process and David and Tracy have obviously put a lot of effort into making the house as comfortable as possible. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone else wishing to travel to this part of France as a large party..

Swimming pool

A lovely house but our holiday was spoilt by poor pool maintenance. In the first half of our week's holiday we were told not to use the pool for 2 days and it remained unpleasant until the Thursday. We felt the compensation given for this was insufficient.
