Lovely cottage, very clean and cozy, short walk to beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Recommend including a pic looking directly from door toward house that is between lake and Colfax Cottage. Otherwise, pics are a bit deceiving as they leave the impression that there is an unobstructed view from the door, rather than a big house. Thank you for supplying firewood. In off season, consider stocking as a routine courtesy. Door lock was problematic but mgmt and maintenance were very responsive.

Could have been better

Mattress was sunken in and very uncomfortable. Only one entrance and exit. Cute house but Did Not Meet Expectations

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were satisfied overall but have a few complaints. The TVs were inoperable because there were no batteries in the remote so at 8:45pm we drove out to the gas station (come to find out it closes at 9pm). We tried calling the phone number and no one answered. The deck furniture is missing despite what it shows in the picture on the listing. 2 out of 3 rows in the grill did not light (probably clogged). The deck faces the front of another house, which doesn't feel private. The upstairs mattresses are very firm, my friends found them to be uncomfortable. The only view is of houses closely situated all around you. The place was quite clean though.

Great cottage next to lake

Would recommend! Perfect budget friendly cottage for a stay next to the beach. We loved the beach wagon provided. However no beach chairs or beach towels, so bring your own. Quick drive into new Buffalo to check out Michigan.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First off- we LOVE the Colfax Cottage. We've been staying every year for the last few years. I have ZERO complaints but do have feedback. The place needs a bit of an update. The rugs in the bathroom need a good washing, the blankets have stains, the guest blanket has a huge rip in it. The light bulbs dont all work. I honestly love it so much though that i couldn't bring myself to complain about it while we were there. It just needs a little more love. When we go for two weeks we try to keep it very clean but there isn't a vacuum. Yes there is in the closet but to be honest, it is worthless. It doesn't even pick up sand. I asked the cleaner mid week and she agreed.

Kitchen refrigerator wasn’t working properly so your food got wet. The master shower had mold on the tile. You are paying for location so that part was amazing. Needed cleaned up and a few things taken care of . Over all not a bad experience just not what I expected for $3k a week

A Fabulous Place to Stay

I totally loved the experience. The house was perfect. My husband and I slept on the mainfloor and my daughter and her family slept upstairs. We were close to the beach and our deck was very private. I plan on renting that same cottage every summer indefinitely. It was wonderful!

Three couple reunion

We stayed two nights in this darling cottage which was just the right size. It was very clean and decorated with a beachy theme. (There was a maintenance problem, which Beachwalk offered to take care of immediately. But it was fine with us to wait until after we checked out. It did not interfere with our stay in the least.) We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great time away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We arrived an hour early and were allowed access to the house. Two gentlemen were cleaning the deck and grill as we were moving in. they were so, so kind. because they were giving us our space, I think they maybe didn't check the lights inside. There were several lights with bulbs that didn't work. it was no big deal though. we made it just fine; we could have called the office if it was a bother. also the lock on the main door almost had us locked out once. other than those minor things, we had a fabulous time. The beds were wonderful. Thank you for an opportunity to rest and get away.
