Beautiful stone house in the country

Comfortable rooms and a perfect house for 2 families. New decking got the morning sun so breakfast on the deck and the front garden, patio and BBQ got the evening sun - perfection! A lovely (unless you don't like hills) cycle in the country to get the bread and croissants every day. Lac du Rouffiac was idyllic but there are plenty of lovely lakes within a short drive and on route to some very pretty and interesting towns.

Spacious Accomodation - lots to do nearby

We really enjoyed our stay at Le Verger and found a lot to do in the surrounding area. Kitchen well equipped, coped well with preparing meals for 8. Veranda space was a boon as the Perigord weather wasn't at it's best for our visit. Huge fireworks nearby for the 15th August party. Lots to do at the Ruffiac lake, kept our 4 children (9-15) well occupied with swimming, tree climbing and even water skiing. Great mountain bike trails to discover too - expect some stiff climbs to go with the descents - most of the marked footpaths are suitable for MTB too. Less than 90 mins to Rocamadour. Jardins de l'imagination was worth a visit (guided in French with some notes in English). Grottes de Tourtoirac were spectacular and on the doorstep (20 mins). Canoeing on the Auzevere was good too - in spite of the lack of water. Prize for best local supermarket goes to Carrefour Connect in Julliac (12 km). We were only visiting for one week and did try to do a couple of things each day, but we know Perigord Vert has much more to offer.

Beautiful old French house with loads of original features in quiet hamlet with countryside views.

Loved our stay at Le Verger. Beautiful old house and gardens with rural countryside views. Fully equipped. Fab bar/restaurant 1 mile away. Owner will order croissants and baguettes if you order night before. Great Lake in nearby rouffiac with swimming beach and loads of activities. Supermarkets close by. So peaceful at house with lovely covered deck area out back for leisurely meals or just quiet contemplation. 10/10

Perfect base for relaxation and easy access to stunning locations

We had an incredible week made all the better by such a lovely base. the property is full of character and has an owner who ensures everything is just right for you. We spent a week visiting the highlights of the Dordogne region with nothing more than a 75 minute drive away. Pretty much perfect

Beautiful old French farmhouse set amid p

Beautiful old French farmhouse set amid peaceful, rolling hills. Village with bar just 20 minutes walk away and, within 5-10km, numerous villages that time forgot . The house is furnished with all you might need and decorated tastefully in the old French style, very comfortable. Views at the back of the house are glorious and make a wonderful setting for an al fresco breakfast. This house sleeps many and is perfect for a family reunion. We enjoyed canoeing on the river, visiting the Lascaux caves, seeing where Josephine Baker founded her rainbow children's home, exploring fabulous ancient towns and simply hanging out together, eating outside and BBQ-ing together.

Charming and peaceful retreat

We really enjoyed our stay at Le Verger, set in the beautiful French country side, it was so peaceful and charming! The house had so much character, was very clean and well equipped and we enjoyed eating our meals looking out over the wonderful landscape. There were many things to do with-in easy reach, including exploring the near-by towns, restaurants, historic Forge and the Rouffiac Lake. I can't wait to come back, thank you for a wonderful stay!
