Absolute Gem!
This villa is an absolute gem! The villa's decor shows this has been a home, not just a rental, with clever artwork and sculptures. Once we understood the subtle links to the villa's name, we created a game to spot them all. On the practical side. The villa itself had everything we needed as a family of 5 (with late teen kids). Everyone had a decent sized room and a place to shower. Water pressure was excellent. The living area was comfortable and spacious. Plenty of comfortable sunbeds, sun umbrellas and the pool was a perfect size and depth. You can have plenty of sun all day, but also find shaded areas at any stage if you prefer. Fantastic location. It's close to the main street with all the restaurants/banks/supermarkets etc (5 min walk), but I must stress that it is not noisy at the villa at all. It is about a 10-15 min walk down the main street to the Old Town area. Such an ideal location. Last note is that Felicity's communication and knowledge of the area is brilliant. Her reps whilst you are there are on another level. Muhammet in our case, was able to assist with the most random of questions about the area. His local knowledge and assistance will always be appreciated.

Beautiful Villa in stunning location
This is a high quality villa with lovely pool and gardens and wonderful moutain and sea views. Several beautiful seating areas and lots of shade provided. Nearest bars, markets and restaurants a few minutes walk and 10- 15 minute walk downhill to the old town, harbour and beach. Highly recommend.

Outstanding villa!
This is our second stay at Kirmizi Lale and I can thoroughly recommend this villa. The standard of furnishings are very high and the outside of the villa is stunning. The location is perfect, near enough to walk into town but a cheap taxi ride home when the legs are too tired! There are three supermarkets nearby which stock a wide variety of goods. There are also bars and restaurants close by if you don't want to venture too far to go out. Yusuf and his team are very helpful and accommodating. Felicity (the owner) is very friendly and between them they cannot do enough for you to ensure that you enjoy your stay. Already planning our third stay at this villa for next year!

Perfect villa and location
A truly perfect home from home villa experience. The villa is spotless inside and out due to Yusuf and his team. The villa is spacious with 5***** bathrooms, The roof terrace views are amazing. It was also really nice to actually meet the owner, Felicity, during our stay she is extremely proud of her villa and all the fine details reflect this. We will definately be reccommending to our family and friends.

Fabulous, efficient, professional and responsive.
Our flight from Istanbul was delayed by 90 minutes. We arrived at the Villa Kirmizi Lale after midnight. The manager, Yusuf, was on hand to help with luggage and give us an orientation. The villa is on a par with a 4-star hotel. Very clean, comfortable and safe, with all required elements to ensure a comfortable and safe stay. The owner, Felicity, is justifiably very proud of her villa and it shows in the presentation. The villa can comfortably sleep 10 guests and with a party of only three was incredibly spacious. For those who like a real physical challenge, the villa sits on top of a punishing hill. You can accept the challenge and be rewarded by a refreshing dip in the pool or you can decline and take a cheap taxi ride. We accepted and felt fitter at the end of our trip. Kalkan is well situated at the foot of the Taurus mountains. It is a virtual sun trap for the sun worshipers. Temperatures (late June/early July) varied between 31 and 43 degrees with bearable humidity. Highly recommend the Saklikent Gorge jeep safari. Buy some water balloons at the first stop and carry water in any vessel you can find. The reason will become quickly apparent and was incredible fun!! The food was basic but the overall experience was great! Horse riding in Patara was cool but do take care to wear long trousers as horses take you past fields with what looks like thistle. It is very rewarding to take a jeep or taxi ride into the mountains and visit the nearby villages like Bezirgan. Very, very tranquil and a good way to de-stress. Nightlife is very good for families. The restaurant owners are not too pushy and the service was fair to good. Recommend Gusto, Aubergine, Linekers' (for dog lovers), Seaport and Sunset (with a great view over the harbour and water). A special mention for those who like a huge satisfying, healthy breakfast, there is a great little bakery with seating area on the main street down a few shops from the Anka supermarket. Overall, we agreed that Kalkan is in our top-2 places to visit for guaranteed weather, food, service and amenities. Villa Kirmizi Lale rates as our number 1 villa accommodation, to date.

Another Wonderful Stay in Kalkan
Our third stay in Felicity's villa and fourth time in Kalkan. The villa is large and very well equipped. The updated bathrooms and terrace area made the stay even better. The pool was a great way to cool off on hot late September afternoons. Location is close to supermarkets and we discovered some new great restaurants closer to the villa without needing to walk into town. The Yali Beach Club was also a new enjoyable and low cost experience. All round highly recommended

Great villa, great destination
We have just returned from a week at this lovely villa for just the two of us, there was so much space but is certainly big enough for much larger groups. It is well furnished and equipped to a high standard, and very clean. We did not use the kitchen much as Kalkan has some amazing restaurants. There is lots of outside space, a great pool and plenty of sun loungers and shades. Also a great seating area for those who wish to sit in the shade. There is a third floor, we used this area for a quiet drink before bed, it has comfortable seating and a fridge and great to admire the views. The villa is a good ten minutes walk down to the old town, but must admit we got a taxi back, for very little cost. Felicity was very friendly and welcoming and Yusef easily reachable if any problems. We would certainly stay at Kirmizi Lale again plus Kalkan holds a special place in our hearts.

Amazing villa - looking forward to returning soon
We have just come back from 10 days at Kirmizi Lale. The Villa was exactly as described, with everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable holiday, and all furnished and equipped to a very high standard, and so clean. We really enjoyed spending time relaxing by the pool and hammocks in the garden, and the top level terrace / bar was a really nice touch, with great views over the bay to enjoy an evening sundowner. The WiFi met the demands of our two teenagers. Felicity made us feel very welcome, and Yusuf and his team were on hand for anything we might need. We didn't really use the well equipped kitchen as spent most evenings dining out in the excellent Kalkan restaurants (Mussakka, Olive Garden, Alternatif, Baharat to name a few - we did not have a bad meal). The Villa is only a 10 minute walk down to the old town, so no Taxis required - a bit harder on the way back up but not too strenuous. Plenty of beach clubs to enjoy nearby (we tried Palm, Indigo and Kalkan beach park), with free water taxis to get you there. As others have said, do try a day boat trip, we went on Yildiz 3 and spend a wonderful day swimming in coves and having a delicious meal with fruit and cakes served on the way back. Thanks Felicity, looking forward to returning soon.

Yet another awesome holiday in Kalkan
I send this on my way back to London. I had away on business and dispensed my duties and this is the first chance I have had to write. In short we had a terrific family stay and Felicity was great and helpful. The days went off without a hitch, immaculate rooms and well equiped kitchen, fantastic pool, great vicinity to supermarkets and restaurants. Felicity's ownership of making sure we had a great day was a real credit, turning up to check unnecessary but very much appreciated! My only constructive feedback would be: - A local company Kisla Travel who manage villa on behalf Felicity. Not so good on service and focused on tips. I would avoid their airport transfer service too due to dangerous driving. Small blip and did not impact the enjoyment of our holiday. - This was our 6th visit to Kalkan. In all previous villas from different owners we were offerred a daily delivery of fresh bread and croissants. A small detail for a great start of the day. - Welcome package. A late long flight with a child is not easy, we reached the villa around 2am rather starving, a complimentary package could have been better. Please take these in the context that you offerred us a great deal and we had a great time. Thank you very much for everything and look forward to staying at your villa again!

Fantastic villa in a great location
We were a party of 5 friends staying in the villa in early June 2017. The villa is accurately described in the listing and has everything you could need for a comfortable holiday. Everything was spotless and in working order. Of particular note were the very private pool/terrace and the fantastic roof terrace which was a great place for and pre (and post) dinner drinks overlooking the bay. Felicity was a pleasure to deal with and very quick to respond throughout the booking process and beyond. Whilst we were at the villa Yusef was friendly, helpful and easy to contact. The villa is within walking distance of lots of shops and restaurants, particular favourites were Kaya, Pera, Aubergine and Küçük Ev (Small House), but everywhere we tried was good with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We didn't attempt the walk back up the hill....which was no problem as a taxi from town is about £2! We went on an excursion to the Saklikent Gorge calling in at Degirmen Restaurant (and trout farm) in Islamlar on the way back for lunch - would highly recommend both! If going to the Gorge (about 40 mins by car) go early to avoid crowds....we were there alone there and it was magical! Overall a great villa in a great holiday destination!

Wonderful holiday in stunning Kalkan
We've just returned from 2 weeks at Kirmizi Lale. The villa was really comfortable and has all the amenities you'd expect all to a very high standard. We loved the pool and seating area but also the roof terrace seating is an amazing place to relax and enjoy the views. There's loads to do and lots of great restaurants all very close the villa. Must recommend a boat trip which was a highlight. Swimming in crystal clear water and then feasting on a delicious lunch- truly magical! (We went with Maya Boats- but there are lots of companies offering very similar). Felicity and Yusuf couldn't do enough to help us out with recommendations and advice during our stay. Highly recommended!

wonderful stay at Villa Kirmizi Lale
We have just returned from our 3 week holiday at Vilal Kirmizi Lale and had a fantastic stay there. Its our third visit to Kalkan and we will definitely stay the villa again. The villa is large and airy, with newly refurbished bathrooms which are sheer luxury, and a fantastic kitchen with all the modcons. Everything was clean and well appointed. The outside area was spacious with a gorgeous pool. There was a lovelly large outside table as well as a beautifully appointed outside seating area, with barbeque, as well as a garden area with lovely hammocks to while away the afternoons with a good book. the owner Felicity was fantastic, super helpful and friendly and went out of her way to make our stay a memorable one. Internet was very good and we were able to access UK TV without any problems. The villa really is very close to town, a short walk, so taxis definitely not needed. It was really perfect and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking at accommodation in Kalkan. We will definitely be back to stay at the villa. Thanks Felicity!

Great villa, great destination
We were a party of 6 family members who stayed at this villa early June 2016. The villa had everything you would wish for – all mod cons including dishwater, microwave and washing machine, and wifi. There is a nice seating area outside at ground level, along with sun loungers, umbrellas, BBQ and outside dining table. On the top level terrace, accessed through the top level bedroom, there is a fridge, sofa, bar stools and bar with beautiful views overlooking the bay. The villa is very comfortable throughout and feels very homely. The owner is extremely helpful and accommodating, dealing with all our pre-holiday queries, providing advice and arranging transport for us from Dalaman Airport. The managing agent popped in regularly to clean the pool and check that everything was OK with our group. Any minor issues were dealt with immediately and we were all really impressed with the standard of care. Following the owners suggestion we decided not to get a car but walked into town every day, which is 10 minutes down the hill. We used taxis to get back uphill to the villa most of the time, especially when we had groceries. Taxi are extremely cheap and plentiful - £2.50 from the town including generous tip. Taxis are always right where you need them – outside the supermarkets, down at the harbour and close to the restaurants. We took the free boat from the harbour to Palm Beach Club most days – idyllic setting, terrific food, and very attentive service – and all for a very economical price. A great destination, a great villa and we all had a great time.

Wonderful family holiday in beautiful villa
My wife and I have been coming to Kalkan for the last 13 years. This year we decided to bring our family,2 sons and wives and our 5 granddaughters to celebrate a family occasion. For this we needed a nice villa conveniently situated for access to Kalkan centre. We couldn,t have made a better choice than Villa Kirmizi Lale. This beautiful well cared for villa is maintained to a high standard and is spotlessly clean. The kitchen is well appointed and lounge comfortable. The modern bathrooms are luxurious and bedrooms well furnished and fitted. We enjoyed the new pergola patio area with the ottoman seating with views over the town and also the refurbished balcony with rattan settees and bar stools overlooking Kalkan bay.The sunbeds had nice thick mattresses and enough parasols for shade. We enjoyed the lovely pool and gardens and the white trellis fencing afforded privacy.Should we return with family or friends we would not hesitate took book this villa again and will certainly pass on our recommendation. Thanks again Felicity and to Yusuf for his help.

Everything you could possibly want!
We stayed at Villa Kirmizi Lale for two weeks and had an absolutely fantastic time. The villa was spotlessly clean throughout and the private swimming pool and gardens were beautifully maintained. The villa's bathrooms had been recently renovated to a very high standard. Only a 10 minute walk from the town centre, the views across Kalkan bay were stunning, particularly from the top floor balcony. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need for a self-catering holiday. We all enjoyed the great selection of board games too - great fun to sit around the outside dining table and play in the shade! We feel very lucky to have found this villa and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, and indeed already have! The owner was so friendly and helpful, as were the brilliant onsite maintenance/cleaning team. We are already planning our next visit. Don't bother looking at any other villas as you won't get better than this one!

Well equipped, well run Well done
As advertised! A clean and spacious villa with excellent local management. A lovely private garden and pool area which sees the sun all day. The villa is very well equipped, it really is a home from home. The location is fantastic everything is within walking distance for the fit and able. The hills I feel would make it hard work for those who are not so able. Having said that a taxi ride from the villa to the main part of Kalkan in no more than 10 lira. Great views from the roof top terrace, we enjoyed a few bbq's up here! We would definitely come again.

The perfect holiday
I think the two main questions for a holiday are 1. where to go and 2. where to stay. For those who have been to Kalkan before, you won't need me to answer the first - as everyone who goes there loves it. It's a beautiful place, lovely old harbour area with cobbled streets, pretty shops and fantastic restaurants and bars, nearly all with terrace views. The locals are friendly and welcoming and there is lots to do to tempt you away from simply lazing by the pool if you want to explore. So the second decision - where to stay; Felicity's villa was perfectly located within easy walking distance of the harbour and the best of the restaurants and shops. It is spacious, light and sparklingly clean. The newly refurbed bathrooms with power showers were fantastic. Everything worked and the kitchen is unusually well-stocked with equipment so that cooking and eating 'at home' is a pleasure, especially with a fabulous greengrocer minutes away where the fruit and veg displays are like a still-life painting and you can buy 8 aubergines for 50p :) The property manager, Yusuf, and his team were most welcoming and looked after us very well. So, all in all, answers to the questions: 1. Kalkan - big tick! 2. Villa Kirmize Lali - even bigger tick! Have a wonderful time if you go!

Have to come back
Kalkan, once a small fishing village, still has a lovely friendly village-like feel. Plentiful of restaurants and cafes, all serving great food from casual to some quite fine dining. A very well appointed villa with spacious bedrooms, marvellous bathrooms and beautiful garden. We also liked the little things like the scent of the honeysuckle, the fact that we were met at the villa at arrival, love the non-slip bathroom tiles, the friendly bus drivers, ... Our best outings were the boat trip and a day in Patara exploring the ruins - we had them all to ourselves! We have to come back! Thanks Felicity for a perfect family holiday.

A really wonderful villa, we will return!
Villa Kirmizi Lale is a real gem in Kalkan for so many reasons. It is in a fantastic location on a quiet side street, yet within easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and the vibrant local market (Thursdays, a must see). The bus station is a 5 min walk away (for explorers) and the centre of town towards the harbour just a 10 min stroll downhill (though a 15 min hike back up the hill!). It is tastefully decorated throughout, with local Turkish art and objects, has brand new bathrooms and is well appointed with everything you could possibly need. Our teenagers enjoyed rummaging through the cds and dvds and played some of the games. They also made full use of the free wifi, checking emails, facebook etc, and watching TV on occasions. We all enjoyed spending time outside in the patio garden area, swimming in the large pool, relaxing on the sunloungers/ hammocks and enjoying the stunning views of the mountainside. Upstairs on the roof terrace, the view is even more spectacular as it extends right across the bay and the ottoman seating is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and nibbles before heading off into town in the evenings. The local team really looked after us during our stay and our transfers (arranged by the owner) were very convenient. My daughter wants to spend her 17th birthday at Kirmizi Lale with friends, so I have already booked again for next year and can't wait!

Absolutely Amazing
This was our first trip to Turkey and we fell in love with Kalkan. Felicity's villa is not only beautiful but is also in the ideal spot. It really is a 15 minute walk to the beach? It is within 5/10 mins walking distance to supermarkets, restaurants anything you could possibly need. The villa is spotless. All the bedrooms are a great size and the beds were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are amazing on the second floor and the kitchen is brand new. The views from the balconies are breathtaking. Felicity made our holiday run extremely smoothly she sorted out our taxi to and from the airport, she even booked us a table at one of her favourite restaurants. Yusef is very helpful and always pops round to check everything's ok. We will certainly be returning.

Another fab holiday in Turkey
We found Felicity's villa 6 years ago,and were a bit apprehensive as we had never privately rented before. The day we arrived in Kalkan and got to the villa we were amazed. The pictures on the website hadn't really done it justice it was spectacular. Yusuf and his team that look after you and the villa are lovely, you couldn't meet nicer people. This year there has been a new kitchen fitted and flooring downstairs which looks lovely.Felicity has also renewed the sun beds and all the cushions on the furniture up on the roof terrace, which is a favourite with my daughters, when they come back from a night out they love to sit out there and enjoy the view. Felicity always makes sure you are Eok and have got everything you want and makes you feel very welcome. There are so many bars and restaurants to choose from that you could go to a different one every night of your holiday and not have to visit one twice. We have always booked our next years holiday before we even come home and now our girls go out to Kalkan for New Year because they love the people and country so much.I would highly recommend this villa to friends and family as long as Felicity still had space for us to go.The location of the villa is brilliant, because it is about a 15 minute walk from the harbour,so you are far enough away not to hear any noise but close enough to walk down for the bars and restaurants. If you're energetic enough you can walk home at the end of the evening or you can go to the taxi rank and get a cab home for about 9 Turkish lira. The slope up to the villa is quite steep but you do get used to it.

Just right
We stayed for 2 weeks in the Kirmizi Lale and loved it. The property is set amongst other villas on the hillside not far from the main road out of Kalkan near the green school. Although it is 10 minutes into town, it is most definitely downhill all the way. Coming back though, it is certainly good for stamina building, with the last 50 metres being the steepest. We tended to walk down into town and then get a taxi back up from town, especially if we had supplies to carry. There a plenty of taxis and the cost back up the hill was about 10 TL (plus or minus drivers discretion!). The villa itself is lovely, with the position on the hill comes the view, you never get tired of looking out to sea, or up the mountain side (tip: binoculars are really useful). It's just close enough to town but not too close to get the noise. The only noise we had was from the neighbours splashing in their pool (mind you, they would have said the same about us!) The ample-sized pool was heavily used in the heat, Yusuf would clean it every morning and be gone before we even got up. We spent a lot of time lounging in the afternoon on the terrace before our walk down the hill to the finest food in Kalkan. The area surrounding the villa is well turned out with different flora and this is regularly watered and kept in good condition by Yusuf. The rooms are very well done out, the beds very comfy, and the air conditioning is a life saver at night if travelling when we did! We all slept well. We hardly used the cooking facilities, eating out most nights, but the villa is well-equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We did tune into the UK TV, mostly for a bit of BBC news and 5 live coverage of the ashes. This worked really well. Felicity organised the transfers from Dalaman for us up front and these worked like clockwork. We would thoroughly recommend Kirmizi Lale. It was great for us with 4 grown up youngsters. Great place, great position, but get those leg muscles built up first!! The best holiday we've had for years.

I live in England and Kalkan and have 2 children and I run my own marketing consultancy for scientific, technical and medical books and journals. I holidayed in Kalkan and fell in love with it and then purchased the villa in 2006. I have made many friends in Kalkan and have really fallen in love with Turkey. I have visited Istanbul and Cappadoccia which was amazing but there is still so much of Turkey to explore.
I am also learning Turkish - not an easy language and I don't get much practise as so many people in Kalkan speak such good English!

Why they chose this property

Kalkan was the first place in Turkey that I visited and stayed in the Meldi hotel - a great place and somewhere where I still visit a lot.
Kalkan is so pretty and set around a beautiful bay with over 100 delicious restaurants - it just seemed like paradise. Having since visited some of the other resorts in Turkey, I have not found anywhere that I like more than Kalkan (which is just as well really!).
It is neither too big nor too small and caters for everybody, young and old, families or couples and there is so much to see and do in the area, you never get bored. Also, I never tire of the amazing view when I wake in the morning and look over the azure bay with the beautiful mountains as a backdrop.

What makes this property unique

The villa is one of the closest to town yet still in a quiet and peaceful location which is important to me to know that my children can come home safely and without the need for taxis or long dark walks up steep hills and unmade up roads in the evening.
The property is like home from home and I have endeavoured to think of everything to make your stay an experience to remember. As it is also my personal home, there are all the personal touches to make it a really family home.
I love the garden which has 2 huge pomegranate trees, orange and lemon and avocado which has just produced its first 'crop' of avocados since purchasing the villa! I have to say - it wasn't the tastiest - but I ate it anyway!

The internet is a very useful facility enabling me to work in Kalkan as well.
