The house was very clean and well taken care of. The only things it needs are televisions in the bedrooms and a porch light upstairs. Hostess was very responsive to texts.
Place was really cozy.. loved the seperate bathrooms for the rooms. Kind of liked just having the one tv in the livingroom as we were on vacation and needed family time. Loved being able to learn about the history of the house as there was a book with notes from previous renters and their experience there. Location was excellent not far from the beach and close to dollar store for forgotten supplies. Loved having the big store close as well.. owner was real responsive. Overall loved our time at this house..
Great stay and great location, as advertised. Quiet, spot, perfect amount of space for us and our fur kid too. We had a sxs for beach access to/from. We even knew a neighbor! It was the family get away before school our family very much needed. I appreciate being able to bring our dog with us as our sitter wasn’t available and plus she loves being with us. We enjoyed the beach, donuts, dinners out, evening rides on the beach and playing on the beach during the day (caught lots of seaweed fishing too) plus a really cool fundraiser golf cart/sxs beach parade during one of our days. First time seeing baby skunks in the ditch behind the house- so cool!! We made memories, enjoyed our stay and would rent again.
It's a little old, but very nice. We enjoyed our stay. The property is a short walk to the beach and traffic is light during the week. On the weekend, there are lots of people all along the beach but everyone seemed very friendly. We took along our Great Dane to experience the Gulf. Check-in was extremely simple as was check-out. During the middle of our stay, some very old friends of ours decided to pay us a visit for an evening and ended up staying the one night. They thought the property was very nice as well. Sometime next year we were thinking of coming back.
Jeep weekend is not for families. Knowing that now we will plan future trips around that. So disappointed to leave the beach today seeing all the trash. Glad we had a few days last week before all hell broke loss. As far as the beach house, it was clean, corner lot, I recommend getting a golf cart to get to the beach. I did think the pricing was a little high when you include added fees compared to in other properties in the same area. Over all a good experience
It was exactly what we needed for our small family of 4. Clean and simple. Host was incredibly easy to communicate with and answered all of my questions promptly. Location is close to a lot of restaurants and stores for anything we forgot (always happens). Right across from the same water slide we used to go to when we were kids back in the 80's when my family had our own beach house. I would stay here again!
Leslie was a treat to work with! Easy check in and out. The house is stocked with everything you need and more! Beach is close. The sheets smell like heaven! Open floor plan. Wonderful deck and downstairs area. Perfect for our small family 🙂We can’t wait to come back!!
Had an awesome time staying here for the weekend. Place was clean and good for a small family. Owner was very responsive to my questions. We rented a golf cart to get around and had a great time.
The house is perfect for a small family like ours (Two adults, two kids, and a pup). Yes, the walk to the beach may be a bit far, but you can easily drive your vehicle to the beach and park for $10. The house is very cozy and spacious for a small group. The deck is awesome, I could’ve stayed outside all night enjoying the breeze. We are already talking about our next stay at this location. Thank you
The property was clean and well kept. We had a great time at the beach and we enjoyed just hanging out and playing games at the house. It rained a bit while we were there and we even had a tornado warning but it didn’t stop us from having a great time.
Overall experiance was good except landowner informed us of power outage on day of arrival which was suppose to b till 7pm but lasted till around 2am. But after that was better. Loved the outdoor shower and went and caught crabs after dark that was fun.was definitely plenty of room for our family.
The property was clean and just as described online. The owner was very responsive and easy to reach. We enjoyed our stay very much!

About the host
Hosted by Leslie Balsamo
We are a husband and wife team. We enjoy going to the beach and go as often as we can. We also own another rental located in the same area. We offer personal service and interaction with our renters.
Why they chose this property
This home has been in my husband's family since 1982. Originally purchased my Mom and Pop Balsamo is was severely damaged during hurricane Ike. Pop decided to sell the property to his son Rodney because he felt he was to old to start over. Rodney along with his wife Leslie bought the property as was. Walls, plumbing, electrical were all torn out. The floor plan was reconfigured and all new material was put it. The only original part of the cabin are the rafters, studs, sub flooring and septic system. Even the pilings are new.
What makes this property unique
Although it is on the back row, it offers views of the Gulf and beach on one side as well as the Intracoastal Waterway where you can watch barges and tug boats go by.
