Beautifully Renovated Famous House.Heated Pool.Enclosed Grounds.Beaches & Midi
This beautiful old wine makers house which overlooks vineyards, is a charming spacious property. Peaceful Location on the edge of a Village, close to the Canal du Midi and local amenities. It has been sympathetically renovated, losing none of its character. Furnished to a high standard in traditional french style, using some of the original pieces of furniture. It is situated in the attractive wine-producing village of St. Marcel, close to Narbonne and glorious Mediterranean beaches (25 minutes). The house is very well equipped, a home away from home.It has been featured in '25 Beautiful Homes Magazine' May 2014 where it was also considered good enough for the front cover picture. It has also featured on BBC TV and in the Times newspaper when a long lost love letter was discovered tucked into the cushions of an old chair that was being reupholstered. It had been there for nearly 200 years. The house is very large and easily copes with maximum occupancy and outside there is also plenty of space. The pool area is nicely segregated from the rest of the garden providing an oasis of calm surrounded by lavender and other vibrant plants. Later in the year you can even pick figs. The grounds of 1 hectare are totally secure and provide plenty of shade for children to run around or adults to chill out. During the high season, most meals will be taken outside on the large terrace where the big gas BBQ with cope with the task easily. Should you wish the kitchen has a great range cooker and the dining room seats 10 comfortably and overlooks the terrace. There are two large fridges, one labelled Food the other Drinks! Next to the dining room is the day room with satellite TV, DVD player and Ipod dock are all available and a second TV/DVD player is available in the separate sitting room allowing more choice of entertainment.

Beautiful old house - perhaps better for older children than wee ones(?) we had 3 teenagers and it was ideal. House and pool very clean and well equipped. We had helpful comms from the owner and Local contact, Jess, was fab - couldn’t have been more helpful or welcoming - and so patient and kind when I thought I’d left passports on departure. Fantastic location. Great local baker and fruit shop. Handy For lots of interesting day trips. Would highly recommend and would love to go back!!
We stayed 2 weeks at Le Parc at the beginning of July and where a group of friends composed of 6 adults and two 2 children.
The house, the pool and the garden are all just beautiful and very spacious, allowing everyone to have their own space and intimacy when needed.
The decorating is elegant French style with antique objects and furniture that gives a very personal touch and atmosphere that makes you feel immediately at home.
We are all foodies, so the kitchen was “THE” plus for us as it is perfectly equipped with absolutely everything you need, up to the slightest detail.
Tim, Miles and Jess where just great, very attentive and reactive.
The location is also perfect, 20 minutes from the beach and a lot of great restaurants and places to discover nearby. We even found an organic farmer for our fruits and vegetables, and you have a large Intermarché market 5 minutes from the house.
Al in all, we had a wonderful vacation.
We were sad to leave and could of easily spent another week and are already thinking of going back next summer!
We stayed there two weeks and we enjoyed every day. The pool ist great and the house, specially the kitchen, has everything you need . It is an excellent base to explore all the fantastic places. We loved it and would like to come back.
Lovely home . Great location close to lots of amenities. Pool great although for the first few days was very cold . Miles the caretaker of the property was very obliging and came ASAP and fixed it for us . There is an issue with the pool cover at the minute and it doesn’t work so the heat evaporated overnight leaving the pool at 25 degrees which is icy cold . Once he sorted it out it was lovely . The house itself has is very comfortable. The beds and bed linen gorgeous. It did however get very warm at night . Even with a fan or two blasting . Air conditioning would be a great addition. Most nights it was 28/29 degrees and whilst downstairs stayed relatively cool upstairs was at times unbearable . However we did enjoy our week at Le parc . X
Lovely house & garden. Beautifully decorated throughout. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. Easy check in. Great communication with host.

The best way to explore the South of France
We stayed 8 nights at Le Parc with our 6 family members and enjoyed the house very much and all its facilities which has all what you could need. We were received with a nice cold bottle of wine in the fridge, some cookies, flowers and others. The house is decorated in its French style with old furniture everything very clean an according to the French house style. I would really recommend Le Parc as a excellent base to explore the many fantastic and historical places around the South of France.

A wonderful relaxing week
We had a wonderful relaxing week at your beautiful house. The pool and gardens were amazing and the house provided enough space for everyone to get away from each other if needed.
Thank you for the wine and welcome basket that was a lovely touch! Also being supplied with pool towels - we've never had that before.
We visited many places including the atmospheric Carcassonne, the lake at Homps, the beautiful city of Narbonne and the local beaches.
Fantastic - can't wait to come back

Easily the best property we have stayed in.
The house is furnished in traditional French style, but not so much that it makes you feel uncomfortable. The stairgate at the top of the curved staircase was such a thoughtful addition, as were many other things to make the house child friendly. Kitchen very well stocked and as a bonus, a drinks fridge as well as the American fridge/freezer! The children’s favourite was the collection of blow-up and beach toys. The pool and garden are superb. A wonderful house for any family. Nice village, shops within walking distance and a very helpful maintenance man

Wonderful Stay at Le Parc
We've recently returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday at Le Parc. The house was beautiful, clean, excellently equipped with lovely original features. The swimming pool was fabulous and so easy to use. Our party included toddler twins and although the pool does not have a safety fence, the excellent pool cover eased our fears. We enjoyed many evenings dining outside on the terrace watching the bats dart through the trees at dusk and the odd game of boules. We picked daily the best figs we've ever eaten from the huge tree in the grounds - such a treat.
The owners were great at supplying us with all the information we needed for our stay and were very quick at answering our questions.
The house is located within easy reach of lots wonderful places to visit although it was hard to drag ourselves away from the pool on hot and sunny days! Carcassonne, Narbonne and Lagrasse are a must see. We didn't do much dining out due to the age of the children but we were more than happy cooking for ourselves at the house.
We would unquestionably recommend Le Parc to a friend or relative.

A little piece of Paradise
We have spent our holidays at Le Parc for the past three years and we will defiantly be returning. It is a quick journey from the airport to Le Parc. On arrival, you drive through some magnificent gates into a well established garden with lots of trees. The house is tastefully decorated and has an ora of elegance. The bedrooms are all very spacious with crisp clean linen. The kitchen is well laid and is certainly the heart of the house, cooking and drinking the local wine with all the family. The Dining Room is adjacent to the kitchen which we didn't use because it is all about outdoor living. We used the outdoor facilities to have all our meals utilising the BBQ once or twice. The pool is a good size and has plenty of sunbeds, there is also shaded areas for those who don't like too much sun. This year the owners have built a Boules Pitch and turned out to be great fun. All the amenities are close which meant we could either walk, cycle or drive. We forward to booking again in 2016!

A little disappointing
We enjoyed our holiday but were disappointed that the house did not live up to the 'Beautiful Homes' tag that the website talks about. On the plus side the bedrooms were comfortable and clean with two of the three shower facilities having been completely refurbished. Downstairs the kitchen is very well equipped with two good sized fridges one for drink and one for food. Outside the pool was a good size. Our disappointment stemmed from the fact that downstairs and outside was in need of some tender loving care. The gardens have become overgrown and cutting back around the pool would probably stop a lot of debris falling into the water. The photos were taken some time ago and things have grown considerably since. The barbecue was dirty when we arrived and patio table and loungers needed cleaning on our arrival and are really in need of renewal. Inside the curtains were hanging of their rails and some of the dining chairs were broken. The owners were helpful when we shared concerns by phone but if the advert is stating 'Beautiful Homes' then the renter is entitled to expect something really special and that was not the standard. All in all a comfortable house albeit a little tired. The owners were friendly when we spoke on the phone and were understandably disappointed with our feedback. The house certainly has potential with a small amount being spent to get it right.

Hosted by Mr Tim Davis and Mrs Georgina Mucklow-Davis
Tim & Georgina Davis have restored this old wine makers house. Georgina has many years experience with interior decoration and the house has been featured in "25 Beautiful Homes" magazine, appearing on the cover of the May, 2014 issue.
Why they chose this property
Having started in Provence and finding it too touristy we moved to the next department of Languedoc which has all the charm but is still very French. The area is dominated by the Canal du Midi and the vast vineyards. It is less crowded than its neighbour and eating out is a pleasure both in terms of quality and price. Menus are also incredibly varied. It is a fantastic are to tour with less traffic but many interesting places from the world famous Carcassonne to a fabulous local artists village of Someil nestling on the banks of the Midi. Beaches are just 20 minutes drive away.
What makes this property unique
Whilst the property is on the edge of the village and just 5 minutes walk to the local bakery it is totally private as the aspect is over vineyards towards the river Aude. The grounds of around 1 hectare are totally secure with many large trees offering shade and a lovely heated pool positioned in a secluded area close to the house and surrounded by lavender and an ancient olive tree. Supermarkets are within a few minutes drive and you can walk or cycle from the property to many local beauty spots and even take a dip in the mountain fed river Cesse.
