An exquisite cottage in a peaceful location, with its own secluded pool, near to Sarlat (25 minutes in the car), Domme (15 minutes) and Gourdon (20 minutes). The property has stunning views, which can be enjoyed from the large terraced area, which overlooks the pool and has a wooden table and chairs for dining alfresco. The cottage comprises two bedrooms - a double and a twin - and a bathroom on the first floor and an open plan lounge/dining room and fitted kitchen on the ground floor. It is surrounded by beautiful French working farmland and breathtaking rural houses and buildings. There is Wifi and a television. The lower garden is large enough to play badminton and football on.
Florimont Gaumier has its own winery - 'Vin de Domme' - where there is a tower giving panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. It is close to many popular attractions including the Dordogne river for canoeing and beautiful medieval castles in Beynac and Castelnaud. Also, Lascaux, famous for the Palaeolithic cave paintings is nearby, as well as the caves of Cougnac which also have prehistoric paintings.

Family stay in August

Good location for what we wanted to do. We had problems on two different days with two different electrical issues, both where seen to by the manager either same day or next day, who was very friendly and polite. Very rustic inside. The bedrooms got extremely warm even with fans running. Linen was very clean, although the house does have a musty smell.

Gîte sombre et manque d'entretien

Gîte sombre et odeur désagréable à l'étage. Salle de bain peu praticable par sa taille et très petite hauteur. Manque de propreté (toile d’araignée, fourmis et milles pattes sur plan de travail), souries. Le gîte à besoin d'un grand coup de nettoyage et restauration. Transats rouillés. Bien trop cher vu l'état du gîte. Fait principalement pour les anglais (livret d’accueil anglais et télévision ne captant que des chaines anglaises), sans compter la réservation qui doit être payé en livres !! Amis français fuyez.

Maison typique de Dordogne

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour. Nous avons été très bien accueillis. La maison est charmante, typique de Dordogne, dans un environnement tres calme (nous avons vécu toute la semaine, jour et nuit, les fenêtres ouvertes). Nous avons pu profiter quotidiennement de la piscine surtout apres nos sortis sportives et touristiques.

Logement décevant et rapport qualité/prix élevé

Nous avons été reçu sur le lieu par la gérante par téléphone. Le logement nous a été ouvert avant notre arrivée, donc pas de réception physique pour nous donner les informations concernant notre départ et sur l’endroit où déposer nos ordures ménagères. De plus la propreté du logement et de la piscine est à revoir : piscine pas clean à notre arrivée ; logement au sol très poussiéreux, nous avons trouvé de l’herbe et quelques épluchures d’oignons par terre à notre arrivée. Nous avons également eu ÉNORMÉMENT de fourmis à l’intérieur, et surtout dans la cuisine (sur le plan de travail en l’occurrence). Cependant le linge de maison était bien propre et sentait bon. Concernant le trampoline, c’est une déception de plus. Il n’a pas de filet, impossible pour notre fils de 3 ans d’en faire alors que nous avons en partie choisi le logement pour ça. L’endroit est cependant très calme et reposant. Globalement le rapport qualité/prix est quand même très élevé…

Super !! Tres agréable, calme, la piscine un peu froide mais nous soulager de la chaleur et propre. L'intérieur dans son jus mais on y passé pas beaucoup de temps. Prévoir éventuellement un micro-ondes et une lumière extérieure. A part ça rien a dire, vous êtes chez vous aucun vis à vis, nous avons adoré, je recommandes ce logement très très sympathique. Contact avec la propriétaire ainsi qu'avec la personne qui réceptionne tres agréable. 👍

Bon séjour en Dordogne

Petite maison de vacances sympathique qui correspond bien à la description de l'annonce. On y trouve tout l'équipement nécessaire (lave-vaisselle, machine à laver, wifi ... ) Elle se situe dans un petit hameau très calme , à la campagne. Nous avons bien profité de la piscine aussi. Et la région est magnifique, beaucoup de choses à visiter. Je recommande cette location.

Nous avons passé un joli séjour dans ce petit nid. Photos conformes à ce que nous avons trouvé sur place. Certes la salle de bain est un peu exiguë mais c’est là le seul bémol, à l’abri des regards et non loin des sites que nous souhaitions visiter nous y avons trouvé notre bonheur et nous y reviendrons avec plaisir !

Havre de paix

Un lieu idéal pour se reposer et de ressourcer en totale quiétude. La piscine privative est un plus vraiment très appréciable. Les arbres bordant le terrain constituent écrin de verdure qu'il faut absolument conserver. On profite de la douceur du hameau et de la nature tout en étant à l'abri des regards. La maison est cosy et fort agréable. Les magnifiques sites de Dordogne sont seulement à quelques dizaines de minutes en voiture. Une très belle découverte. Nous reviendrons !

Belle grange rénovée

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour, Myriam et Juliet sont très disponibles en cas de besoin. L'emplacement est parfait pour toutes les activités en Dordogne. La piscine est top. La maison a besoin d'un peu de rafraîchissement.

Très Moyen

Petite bicoque cosy très bien située dans la nature. A notre arrivée l'homme à tout faire des propriétaire était en plein nettoyage de la piscine. Piscine non chauffée et pour laquelle nous n'avons pas mis un orteil. Beaucoup trop froide malgré la chaleur extérieure. Une honte. Jardin pas entretenu, pot de fleur cassé, tuyau d'arrosage pas rangé, buche de bois balancées dans un coin ... Le gardien est venu broyer l'herbe et non la tondre. De l'herbe partout...Passons. Le rez-de-chaussée propre. Nous avons huilé la porte du réfrigérateur qui grinçait durement...avons trouvé les draps et serviettes des locataire précédents dans la machine à laver...Passons. Cette petite maison est en faite une sorte de mezzanine améliorée. Toutes les poignées de portes sont cassées. Il fallait claquer les portes pour les fermer. Passons. Côté bruit il faut accepter de tout entendre. Pas d'isolation. Notre fils a eu des puces à la première nuit. Avons laver draps, housse, protection du lit. Chambre des parents : literie pourrie sauf si vous aimer le trampoline. Mais ça finit par lasser. Rideaux cassés chambres et salle de bain. Par ce que oui c'est une salle de bain et non une sale d'eau. Mais la baignoire !!!! Si vous mesurez moins de 1m20 vous pourrez y entrer. Adulte si vous êtes souple voir contorsionniste vous pourrez l'utiliser. Attention à la poutre quand vous utiliserez les wc. Douloureux quand on se la prend dans le crâne! Idem dans la chambre enfant ! Bref ! Un rapport qualité prix très médiocre. Beaucoup trop cher par rapport aux prestations. Piscine privée certes, mais non chauffée malgré quelques tentatives (17 degrés). Cela gâche tout même si nous étions en vadrouille toute la journée, nous aurions appréciés de nous y baigner. Heureusement l'emplacement est parfait pour y passer de très belles vacances !

Vacances reposantes à Gaumier

Propriété très bien située pour des vacances en pleine nature. La piscine est aussi très agréable et a été bien appréciée. Le descriptif de la propriété est conforme à l'annonce. Le rez de chaussée (pièce à vivre-cuisine/salon) est frais mais un peu sombre, les pièces du haut plus chaudes mais la température est restée très supportable (il y a de toute façon des ventilateurs à disposition dans les chambres). L'ensemble est bien équipé. Seul bémol, le manque total de produits de base alimentant l'électroménager (pastilles pour le lave-linge, sels pour le lave-vaisselle, savon...) et quelques denrées de base absentes également (un peu d'huile, vinaigre, sel fin et gros sel) permettant d'attendre les courses du lendemain matin et d'assurer le dîner du jour de l'arrivée...

Belle maison reposante

Nous avons passé une très agréable semaine avec nos enfants dans cette maison idéalement située en pleine campagne mais proche des différents site touristiques : 20 min de Sarlat, 15min de Beynac, 1h de rocamadour et 1h20 de Padirac... La piscine est un vrai plus. Le cadre et reposant et agréable. A refaire les yeux fermés et à recommander

Séjour agréable mais une petite déception

Une piscine qui n était pas propre dès notre arrivée, même si cela a été fait rapidement, ce qui ternit l impression. Celle ci n était pas non plus chauffée. L accueil fut bref mais agréable cependant. Je trouve le prix légèrement trop élevé par rapport aux caractéristiques de la location : peu de rangements possibles (étagères très encombrées au Rez de chaussee et même dans les chambres), literie moyenne, pas de rideaux, une salle de bain peu pratique (se cogner était chose aisée…), pour finir sur l extérieur, un manque de netteté : pot de fleur cassé, pelouse non coupée proprement … Bref, des améliorations sont possibles pour rendre la location plus attrayante. Une petite pointe de déception donc mais la région nous a comblés !

Un hâvre de paix pour se ressourcer

Si vous aimez le calme et si être un peu isolé vous convient, cette maisonnette absolument sans vis à vis et quasi sans voisins est toute indiquée. Nous avons passé un séjour au top dans ce petit hameau ! Les photos sont fidèles à la réalité. La maison est située dans un petit hameau charmant reunissant quelques maisons, avec des champs où se promènent des vaches, et la nature tout autour. La piscine est un régal, la maison bien équipée. Buveurs de café, attention, il n'y a aucune cafetière à disposition...prévoyez votre café soluble ou apportez votre équipement. Il n'y a pas de micro ondes non plus et on s'en passe très bien ! Pour le reste, tout est là (plaques à gaz, four, grille-pain, lave linge, lave vaiselle, tv). Coté salle de bains un modeste petit sèche cheveux est à disposition. Le wifi est performant, heureusement car nos portables eux ne captaient aucun réseau. Vive messenger pour rester en contact avec la famille ou les amis ! Les indications pour trouver la maison sont très claires, l'accueil est un peu expéditif mais courtois et souriant. Je précise que ce n'est pas la proprietaire qui s'en charge. Je vous conseille de prévoir votre repas du soir et le premier petit déjeuner car il n'y a aucun commerces dans le hameau, il faut obligatoirement reprendre la voiture. Et après plusieurs heures de route, peut-être la chaleur, l'attrait de la piscine et l'installation dans la maison, on n'a pas forcément envie de sortir faire des courses. D'autant que l'entrée se fait en toute fin d'après midi. Vous trouverez tous les commerces ( lidl, intermarché etc...) à Gourdon à 25 mn en voiture et pour de l'appoint ou coté pratique (pharmacie, poste, carrefour market, boulangerie, tabac presse...) à Cénac à 15mn en voiture. Nous étions juste deux et cela me parait être idéal pour séjourner dans cette maison. Tout est prévu pour 4 ( 2nde chambre avec 2 lits simples) mais c'est une maison ancienne, avec beaucoup de charme et donc une insonorisation inexistante entre le rez-de-chaussée et les chambres à l'étage. Elle convient bien à un couple ou à une famille avec deux enfants. Nous avons adoré la quiétude du lieu, son coté simple, son immersion dans la nature,, les vaches parfois dans le champs en contrebas, le chant des oiseaux... A conseiller pour se ressourcer.

A wonderful countryside holiday home

We had a truly wonderful holiday. The house was just perfect for our family of four (two adults & two kids aged 11 & 9). The house was very clean and welcoming upon our arrival and it had all we needed - its own private pool was a real treat! We ate in the garden using the BBQ most nights. The village is super peaceful and yet only a few minutes drive away from a local bread shop for our morning croissants. Larger food stores only about 15 mins away in the car. Lots of activities very close by: we canoed in Cénac, hired bikes in Castlenaud-la-Chappelle, and a real favourite was going to a local public swimming lake on the edge of Gourdon, where the kids loved Aqua-Monkey and paddle boarding. Our favourite restaurant was La Terrasse about 10 mins drive up the hill from the house looking out over the local vineyard. There is also a fantastic viewing tower there looking down across the valley! At a time of so much uncertainty in the world, we couldn’t have chosen a better retreat for our holiday - would definitely recommend!

Belle maison typique, au calme et à proximité des centres d'intérêts

Nous avons passé une belle semaine en Dordogne. La maison de Juliet est très agréable et très bien située par rapport aux sites à visiter. Le hameau est au calme et c'est également un point fort dans cette région très touristique. Nous avons apprécié la piscine, nos enfants en ont bien profité. Nous recommandons vivement cette adresse !

Un petit coin de paradis

Endroit charmant, isolé dans un petit hameau au calme. On vit au rythme de la nature, des vielles pierres et d’une petite église. La maison est à l’image du hameau, pleine de charme, cosi avec une piscine privative. Un concentré de bien être. Idéal pour un bon séjour en Dordogne. Que du bonheur ..... à refaire...

Peaceful, perfect, picturesque holiday cottage

Great location in small commune on the banks of river Ceou. Short drive or 40 minute walk to bakery, bar, restaurant and vineyard - we bought a case of lovely rose. Close to the breath-taking medieval villages of Domme, Sarlat, Castelnaud and Gourdon, with good restaurants and markets. Cenac close by for canoeing and the Ceou valley is great for bike riding. The house is located on a minor road and is very peaceful. It is well equipped and I was relieved to find a huge SMEG fridge/ freezer and kids relieved to find great wifi, English TV and a good selection of DVDs. Helpful house managers close by. Our teenagers loved lounging in the south facing pool and then having a BBQ early evening - in fact on some days this was all we did as weather so hot! We were lucky enough to be there for the summer festival in the village square which finished at midnight with amazing fireworks. I could have stayed another week .

Nous avons séjourné pendant une semaine dans ce jolie petit coin de paradis. Une maison très cosy .Le jardin avec la piscine est un grand plus,les enfants s’y sont éclatés La maison est bien située.Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le calme de la campagne Je recommande ce logement à tous. Si vous aimez les endroits en pleines campagnes sans petits commerçants autour vous allez apprécier cette maison qui est propre, calme, et apaisante et qui est isolée. Dans la description cela n'était pas indiquée qu'il n'y avait rien autour donc nous nous attendions pas à cela, et gros bémol aussi arrivé à la maison aucune prospectus pour nous indiquer ce qu'il y avait à faire aux alentours. C'était donc à nous de faire nos propres recherches ce qui n'est pas évident lorsque l'on ne connaît pas du tout l'endroit.

Séjour très agréable !

Maison parfaite pour un couple avec deux enfants, décoration soignée, au calme, dans la verdure. Un grand plaisir d'avoir une piscine pour soi, nos filles en ont bien profité! La maison est proche de Domme, la Roque Gageac, et autres villages touristiques. Nous reviendrons volontiers dans cette location.

A piece of heaven on earth.

My husband and I booked this property and took our two grandsons (aged 11 and 9 years). We all had a really lovely time. The cottage is very well equipped and was spotlessly clean. Being on the edge of a village it was extremely quiet and very peaceful. Amenities are a short drive away with Gourdon about 15 minute drive where there are excellent restaurants and supermarkets for supplies. Weather was beautiful so days were spent relaxing in the garden or in the pool, which was a definite hit with the boys. There are lovely walks around the village with cycle tracks for the more energetic. Booking was made extremely easy with the owner whom I found helpful and informative. All in all, this was a wonderful cottage and we had a wonderful holiday.. Would definitely recommend it to anybody. Sandie (Portsmouth UK)

Why they chose this property

As soon as we crossed the bridge over the river which meanders around the village we knew this was a special place. It is achingly beautiful, from the old French working farms which keep the charm of days gone by alive to the stunning views across the valley. We come here every year with our two children and immediately feel relaxed by the laid back pace of life, the welcoming villagers and quiet location.
The pretty stone cottage is a renovated cow barn. It is open plan downstairs with tasteful furniture. It is small but a real gem, with breath taking views across the valley.
The village is on a popular cycle route and because of its beauty it is a regular stopping point for passersby to stop and have their picnics on the tables and benches near to the river.
A picture framer and a bookbinder, with an adjoining cafe, have set up business in the village, adding interest. There is also a working church next door but one to our cottage.
There's a vineyard a 40 minute walk away, with a viewing tower and a great bar to have some cocktails. There are also the most amazing walks on the cottage's doorstep and with the River Dordogne just 20 minutes drive away, it is great fun to take out a canoe.
For us it is the tranquility of the cottage that we love so much. As soon as we arrive we take a deep sigh, relax and look forward to waking in the morning to the wonderful sound of birdsong.

What makes this property unique

The property has a very private pool with a light for night swimming.
Sitting on the terrace you can look across the stunning valley, taking in the sound of the cows in the nearby field, tractors passing by and the odd gecko rustling in the undergrowth.
