Architect Designed Private Coastal Property. Stunning Ocean Views. 200m To Beach
This is a beautifully finished, tastefully furnished house set in it's own private 6 acres. Cedar decking flows into landscaped gardens and on into the natural seascape. The sea meets the land in a natural gorge. The house was designed to suit a family with children and works perfectly for a large family or 2 smaller families holidaying together. The spacious kitchen and separate living room allow adults and children space to enjoy separate activities. In good weather the large deck comes into its own as another living/eating area. In bad weather central heating, 2 wood burning stoves, excellent insulation and large picture windows still allow maximum enjoyment of nature at its liveliest. It is perfect for a relaxing break or as a well located base from which to enjoy all the amenities of West Cork. Bird watching, water sports of all descriptions, long walks, historical locations, traditional music sessions, quad biking, tennis, fishing, great and golf are all easily accessible.

From beginning of stay until our departure we enjoyed the house and view and weather - swimming at adjacent beach was top class - our special thanks to Mary for coming to our rescue when we locked ourselves out of the houses -
We had a wonderful week at the house. Mary, the housekeeper, was so kind and responsive, as were Aine and Rupert. The location was great - very private and convenient to lots of great activities in West Cork. We saw lots of wildlife from the house, including numerous species of birds and both common dolphins and a minke whale. We would happily stay at the house again!
Our stay was beyond any expectations. Property well kept up. Beach only 5 minutes walk, and so so quiet. Mary our host was the absolute best. So kind, so caring so available for anything we needed.
The property manager Mary O’Shea is a really lovely lady - attentive and helpful at all times. We encountered nothing but old world Irish charm and courtesy, both from Mary and everyone else in the vicinity - even down to the complete strangers in the local pub, who freely gave us a spare gas valve for the bottle gas canister, trusting us to return it afterwards. Lovely people and lovely place.
Remote, but beautiful location, overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Great sized back gardens & decking & outdoor shower very useful. Well stocked kitchen, large kitchen table, good coffee machine. Quality towels & bed linen. Large living room looking out onto the sea, great heat from the stove. Safe & calm beach just down from the house, perfect for swimming. Great base for touring the Cork coastline.
Glorious! What a treat to have time in this beautiful house - its wide airy spaces, well equipped kitchen and stunning views made this a gorgeous adventure. We walked and swam and read and ate and rested. We went for breakfast at Liss Ard House and visited the sky garden. We went on a night kayak in close by Lough Hyne and watched the bioluminescence sparkle through our fingers. Magical.

Fabulous!
Loved where this house was - the view was all our own. We went here as a couple for our silver wedding but the house would comfortably sleep a large family. The tiny private 'beach' was great for finding sea glass! Really peaceful place. Windows were great for taking in the view and we spent hours just staring at it. To sit up in bed and watch the waves was lovely. Roads are very narrow, but lot's of lovely coves within a couple of miles as the crow flies. Beautiful.

Fabulous house in a gorgeous spot
Everything was lovely. The house is very nice indeed. Comfortable, spacious, stunning views. Complete tranquility. Big skies and sea views. Fabulous to see so many stars, when the clouds cleared at night, as no light ‘pollution’. Lots of things to do and places to visit, and good restaurants, cafes and bars in the Skibb area. We were very sad we had only booked a week. Aine the owner was always helpful and prompt on booking and queries and, as others have remarked, Mary is delightful and very welcoming. We hope to be back.
It's hard to put into words, was difficult to get to and we had a long drive, but when we put the key in the door and I saw the seamy heart leapt, I want to thank the family that rented this to allow us the experience of your home. It was the first holiday in a long time will never be forgotten. Mary the house keeper had it spotless and was on hand for anything, it was a pleasure to meet her and we all hope to return. Just breath taking ❤️❤️❤️
This is a fantastic home - winter or summer I'd imagine. We swan every day at the cove at the bottom of the garden. Magical. Looking forward to returning.
We had a wonderful time. The view, the nearby beach, the gully, proximity to town and 30 minutes or so to Schull and Clonakilty, would definitely recommend and hopefully secure a week or two in summer 2022!
This house and surrounding grounds are stunning. Not only is there direct access to the sea in the back garden there is a beautiful small cove at the end of the lane. We swam there every day. The house is beautifully designed. We had good weather so lived on the deck. We cooked at home generally and the kitchen has everything you could need. The roads leading to it are narrow and winding but plenty of little lay bys to let cars pass. Mary gave us such a warm welcome and goodbye and Aine always responded to queries speedily. Loved every minute of it.
Fantastic location, beautiful house, an unspoiled natural setting.
This is an amazing holiday home, it is bright, spacious and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We were a party of two small families, and it worked perfectly. It felt like a home away from home.
The location is what really sets this house apart though. It is private and wonderfully quiet. The terrace and garden provide uninterrupted sea views, comfortable outdoor living, and super star gazing. There's even a shady tree platform providing welcome relief from the Cork summer sun.
The gully is a natural water play-ground for swimming, snorkeling kayaking, rock climbing and even a bit of fishing. Surrounding headlands are undeveloped and a thriving natural habitat - bird watchers will love it.
Mary was accommodating, informative and helped make for a special holiday - just a week or two, or three, too short.
An amazing house in a spectacular setting. We had a great family holiday with kids ages 11, 8 and 6. The house is well presented and made available with the best of everything including BBQ, coffee machine, and outside shower to name a few. We enjoyed the cove on the property and swam at Tralispean beach every day. Mary the housekeeper was lovely and ensured we were welcome and had everything we needed for our stay. Thank you Aine, it was a pleasure to stay there.
Beautiful House in a stunning location with plenty to do within a short drive. House manager Mary was very friendly and helpful. Only downside was two of the three double rooms, one just had walking space around the double bed and the other was an attic space open to the kitchen which you couldnt stand up and walk around in.
