About this property

Holiday home with EV Charger. 3 bedrooms & a large garden - Sleeps 6

Meadow View is a well equipped and tastefully furnished 'home from home' set in the lovely village of Sedgeford. It has three bedrooms: a master with King sized bed, a twin room and a bunk bed room. The sitting room has a wood burner, perfect for cosy evenings and the dinning room is light and airy. The timber deck has picturesque views over the valley and overlooks the large lawn and pretty meadow (with it's own winding path for children to discover). There is ample parking on the driveway.
The cottage is well located to use as a base for exploring the Norfolk countryside or a perfect get away to relax and unwind.
For families : there is a booster seat, travel cot & permanent stair-gate. There are numerous board games and puzzles in the dinning room plus games and crabbing nets in the outbuilding. There is also a trampoline ready to be jumped on!
For dogs : our large garden is fully enclosed, we welcome furry friends but politely ask that they are kept downstairs and off the furniture.

***June 2020 - Completed cottage refurbishment including: driveway resurfacing, all carpets replaced, complete repaint and an additional shower fitted in the downstairs bathroom.

*** Spring 2021- Bespoke sofas refurbished. Essential roof repairs completed.

Easter Break 2024
We stayed for a week as a family of 4 plus my mum, children aged 7 and 10 and our 3 year old dog Monty. The property was a home from home, with everything needed to have a relaxing break. The trampoline was an added bonus for the kids. Location was perfect to explore the norfolk coast line. Would definitely stay again.

Fabulous cottage in a stunning location
This really was one of the nicest, relaxing holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. The house itself is so cosy and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Perfect for our doggies with a lovely place to walk them just round the corner. The village playpark is great too and our son loved going with grandad twice a day to use the outdoor gym equipment. The location is stunning. We all loved watching the deer and other wildlife from both the bedroom and kitchen windows. We stayed for Halloween and all the children that came to the house were so lovely. The lady over the road was so kind and friendly, she even offered to take us a family photo before we left. We really hope to visit again in the future. Thank you Mel for all your help.

A week in Sedgeford
The property was as described. The top point was the long garden which our dog enjoyed doing his retrieving, the decking area was a nice place to come back to and relax in the early evening. The village has a nice pub and good food. The property is excellently located for Hunstanton and the north Norfolk coast.

Just as advertised
Some very good friends of mine went in my place as I had injured myself immediately prior to going. They informed us the property was just as advertised, they did comment that the upstairs shower was a bit smaller than they are used to but the downstairs shower was perfect. They very much enjoyed their stay and the surrounding areas

Beautiful home with beautiful garden
We have just returned from our stay at this lovely cottage. We had a great time, despite the weather being mixed to say the least! The cottage is fully equipped with everything a family could need. We were thankful for the array of books, dvds and games on the rainy days, but also the bbq was lit twice when the sun did come out. A large garden kept the kids occupied as did the trampoline. Just 2 mins away is a childrens playground too. The accomodation itself was as listed, very comfy beds and a great shower in the bathroom. Special mention for the owner Mel who was always available for tips and advice on the best family restaurants and things to do and was a joy to deal with. Thank you Mel, we will be back!

Lovely property in good location
This is a lovely property and is exceptionally well equipped infact I don’t think we’ve ever stayed anywhere that has so many pots/pans etc The check in process is very easy and a nice touch was that tea/coffee and even dishwasher tablets where left. We couldn’t however find a bottle opener and messaged Mel the owner she said there should be 2 but we were unable to find either. Although Mel herself was away out of the the country she immediately ordered one from Amazon and it was delivered the next day - cannot ask for more than that. The property is located in a quiet village but close for visiting many areas/attractions like Sandringham, Hunstanton or even Norwich if you want to travel a little further. The village has a lovely pub (King William) of which the staff are very friendly and it is also dog friendly which was great for us. The property has a very nice large garden which was great for our lively Boxer dog. We really enjoyed our stay and will certainly consider returning to both the area and the property.

Wonderful well equipped holiday home
We’ve just spent a week at Meadow View Cottage and had the most glorious time. The property is equipped with everything you need for a home from home, and Mel has thought of some lovely additional touches. Beds are comfy, garden is wonderful (I enjoyed many a quiet cuppa on the decking before the kids woke up!) and the eating and living spaces are spacious and comfy. In terms of location, it’s brilliantly situated, really close to Hunstanton if you’re looking for a traditional seaside visit, plus it’s only a short drive to some lovely Norfolk hot spots such as Sandringham and Wells. And there’s a lovely pub in walking distance where we had a great meal one night. Can’t fault the place and will definitely be back!

Perfect September break
We were looking for somewhere to spend a two week break on short notice and were fortunate to find Meadow View was available. The house looked gorgeous on VRBO and turned out to be just as nice in reality. Although there were just 2 adults and an 11 year old (and a puppy) in our party, there is room for 6 to stay in comfort. Many of the attractions of this part of Norfolk are well known, but the neighbouring village of Ringstead was new to us, with a quirky “General Store”, great food, drink and atmosphere at the Gin Trap pub, and Ringstead Downs for a quiet stroll away from the roads. The owner, Mel, was really helpful and responsive and helped make our stay perfect. We would have no hesitation in coming back to Meadow View and would strongly recommend it to any family looking for a self-catering base in this lovely part of the world.

Relaxed summer break in a lovely location
From booking to check in the process was excellent. Mel contacted us well ahead of time with clear instructions for check in. When we arrived we found the accommodation as described, it was comfortable and well equipped. Our two children liked that they were able to have their own room and the bunk beds were well received as was the trampoline outside. It was lovely to have time outside on the decked area and we were entertained by the bats and an owl as dusk fell. The weather was mixed but the location. Is great with easy access a range of local attractions like, Kings Lynn, Norfolk Lavender with farm park as well as Hunstanton and beach. We had a very relaxed stay and would definitely recommend.

Meadow view in Sedgeford
This was a last minute booking and we were very pleased. The property was attractive and comfortable. Unfortunately, we did not use the lovely garden because of the weather. We were occasionally cold and did not understand how toget the heating to work . I left a message for the owner but she did not get back to me- I should have tried harder as she had enquired how we were getting on earlier in the week and had otherwise given us plenty of helpful instructions and recommendations. The sitting room and bedrooms are quite small but we were fine with that. The location of the house is good. There are plenty of beaches and interesting places to visit easily. The village pub serves good food.

I live in Oxford with my husband, two children and our nutty Border Terrier called Moose. We bought Meadow View in 2005 after completely falling in love with Norfolk (and all it has to offer) during a friends wedding the year previously. Since then it has transformed from being merely a holiday cottage to a much loved second home and has proved to be an idyllic retreat for both ourselves, our family and friends. We are now looking forward to sharing it with you . . .
