Dragon Cottage is cosy and well appointed, in a great location to shops and eateries.
We wanted something central for visiting family and we weren't disappointed
The property was lovely, felt like a family home with their ornaments etc around. Great location in Deal near the super coastal walk.
Pippa gave great advice on where to go with our teenager. Thank you.
Old cottage full of character with nice sunny courtyard. Towels and sheets were great quality. Deal was a good location with some great places to eat and lovely walks.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cosy, characterful cottage. It was very comfortable, clean and ideally located right in the centre of Deal, just a few minutes walk from both shops and beach. We loved the little extras - lovely welcome basket, dressing gowns and slippers. A lovely place for a relaxing break.
Dragon Cottage is delightful….. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful location close to the beach. Cosy & welled stocked with great attention to detail. Struggling to find any fault, just fantastic! Good value for money….we are booking again, and telling our family & friends!
Another wonderful few days at Dragon Cottage, cosy and comfortable and delightful as ever. I will keep returning to this gem.

Perfect holiday cottage for seaside break
A real home from home, everything you could need in a perfect location. Quiet and calm vibe in this cottage, with the comfiest double bed to help you sleep far too long! Love the cottage and love Deal with all it's good food and drinking places. Will be back soon.
The cottage is cosy, tasteful and well equipped. Also the owners provided a lovely hamper of jams/tea/coffee.It is really easy to find from the train station and only a minute from the sea.Would definitely recommend
This lovely cottage suited us perfectly, right in the heart of Deal with a car park 2 minutes walk away, free overnight with an electric point for our plug-in car, but you did have to pay during the day. It was clean and comfortable with a sunny yard that would have been great to sit out in if the sun had shone! Our aged Labrador felt very welcome. We did lots of walking, to Sandwich and Broadstairs, had a day in Canterbury and a very stormy day walking by the sea through Margate. Thank you so much to the hosts, we’ve returned to SE London, refreshed and renewed

Lovely cottage
We found Dragon Cottage a loveley place for a relaxing holiday. The cottage ist just delightful and well equipped. And with free wifi, the children were happy as well ...
Deal is a great spot, not far away from the ferry in Dover, and has very nice little shops and a good choice of places for familiy dinners.
And as we were so lucky with the weather, we've been to the beach every day!

Charming cottage in a lovely town
We had a great stay at Dragon Cottage and Simon and Pippa were very helpful. The cottage itself has everything you would need for a short break and Deal has lots of things to do. Our 3 year son loved going to the beach every day and when we did manage to escape the beach we explored Deal castle, went cycling in Betteshanger Country Park and went to the Deal xmas lights show. It’s a lovely cottage and I would definitely recommend it.
I stayed at Dragon Cottage a few years ago, and I was delighted to find everything as beautiful as I remembered it on my second visit.
Communications and check-in were a breeze, the house is so welcoming and cosy, with everything thoughtfully provided for a comfortable getaway.
A few steps to the charming Deal market on Saturday morning, a stone's throw to the beach for long seafront walks, wonderful little shops, pubs and restaurants nearby (excellent fish & chips just down the road!). The place oozes history and charm.
I slept so well in the comfy bed, and loved my evenings in the elegant sitting room, reading in front of the fire. A well-equipped kitchen let me cook my own meals when I didn't eat out.
I can't wait for my next stay!

Stunning, amazing and beautifuly presented. Home from Home
The word amazing doesn’t quite cover Dragon Cottage. The cottage itself is stunning and immaculate and the attention to detail that the owners add is something else. We stayed over New Year so the cottage had the Christmas decorations up, it’s clear a lot of thought had gone into those.
The cottage has everything you need, the kitchen is fully equipped as are the toiletries in the bathroom. And an amazing array of books to choose from too. Two things I like to be spot on whilst I’m away is a restful nights sleep and a decent shower, the cottage ticked both those boxes. The double bed was comfy and the shower has plenty of umpf.
We had a power cut whilst there (someone cut through a cable in the road) we spoke to Simon who couldn’t have been more helpful and apologetic - these things happen. For us it made for the perfect evening. We lit the fire and opened a bottle of wine.
The cottage is perfectly located at in Deal, with great walks along the seafront in both directions and a high street just a short walk away.
I cannot rave enough about Dragon Cottage, we will definitely be returning. I have fallen in love with Deal and the cottage.
Thank you Pippa and Simon for making this cottage a fantastic place to stay.

We enjoyed this wonderful cottage for a week. Everything is close and yet it's quiet and comfortable. We loved it. It has many extra things that make it special - the beautiful little private garden off the kitchen, a perfectly supplied kitchen with all the necessary tools and dishes, pots, etc., probably 500 books of any genre to keep every reader happy, plenty of tv channels to choose from and pubs and restaurants everywhere. Pippa's photography is a nice touch and all the little pictures throughout are fun to see.
The listing was accurate - the only annoying item is the construction across the street which blocks the parking for the cottage. We parked near the Angling Club for free but it's a hike to get to the car. However, we didn't use the car once we arrived so it was not that inconvenient. We took the train to Dover and could have easily done so to other towns as well. Walking is doable to Walmer Castle and Sandwich.
The workers across the street stop working around 4 pm on week days and don't work at all on weekends, so it was quiet when it needed to be. The property was very clean, well maintained and orderly when we arrived - the gift basket was full of nice things. Grocery shopping is a breeze with a Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencers plus many other little markets to choose. The Saturday market just a few feet away down on High Street was fun - we bought a chicken and bacon pie which was delicious and highly recommended. The Milaad Tandoori restaurant just down Middle Street is a jewel. We didn't need additional help or customer service but we have no doubt it would have been available and efficient.
All said, we will highly recommend Dragon Cottage to anyone coming to this area - it's a very nice place for a two to four people.
Een uitstekende cottage wanneer je van auttenticiteit houdt. Allles is aanwezig.
Had a lovely short break here with our dog, cannot fault the property, very well equipped and comfortable with a lovely enclosed Court yard so felt safe for the dog. Lovely area with great walks nearby.
Highly recommend
Really clean, really comfortable and a lovely sun trap courtyard. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds. Complimentary toiletries and robes were a welcome bonus. Great location in the centre of the conservation area with easy access to the lovely independent shops on the High Street. Best chippy and pub are 2 minutes walk away. Excellent communications with host Pippa and early check in was so helpful. We coughed up for parking in the Union Road car park as it was so convenient and just added daily rate £8 to the cost of the holiday. We love Deal and we will be back. Thanks so much for a great break Pippa.
Lovely cottage with a nice feel. Ideally situated for walks along sea front and also main street shops and market. Great old fashioned pub just up the street. We loved our stay.
The cottage was lovely. It was close to the town and to sea front. There was plenty of space and everything we needed. Extras such as jam and teabags and dressing gowns and slippers added a splash of luxury. Nothing too much trouble for the hosts as they arranged an extra days stay. The log/coal fire was great. Plenty of plates and items in the kitchen. Towels for the beach. No problem finding places to park both in the long stay car park and free spaces in the sea front. We will definitely stay again. A lovely cottage.

Why they chose this property
You will find all you need here for a relaxing seaside break, As a dog owner myself, I am happy for you to bring your well behaved dog to the cotage. All the family love Dragon and we hope you find it as relaxing and restorative as we all do.
What makes this property unique
The dog walks and the lively artistic community with exhibitions and live music going on are a fantastic escape from the hurly burly of work life. On arrival, the car is parked and everything is then in easy walking reach - wonderful. The shops are a great mix of known high street brands like Marks and Spencers and quirky local shops like Dublin and Diver, the Horton shop, Smoke on the Water and Peppers health foods. There is a fantastic choice of places to eat and drink - all nearby and, of course, the sea is on our doorstep
