Misleading information
I recently stayed at a villa in Lanzarote and had an incredibly disappointing experience that I feel compelled to share. We had carefully selected this villa and verified with the owner beforehand that taxis would be easily accessible since neither my guest nor I were comfortable driving abroad. The owner assured us that getting taxis from the villa would not be an issue.
Upon our arrival by taxi from the airport, we were met by a man who was not the owner. To our astonishment, he expressed shock that we had arrived by taxi and insisted that it was impossible to get taxis from the villa. We explained that the owner had assured us otherwise, but the man dismissed this, instead attempting to arrange car hire for us. Despite our clear explanation that driving was not an option, he continued to press the issue, making us feel extremely pressured and uncomfortable.
That evening, the man kindly brought over some bread, recognizing our predicament of having no way to procure food. However, it became evident that our stay was not going to be feasible under these conditions. After he left, we contacted the owner, who provided a phone number for a taxi service. Unfortunately, the villa's lack of cell service meant we had to walk up the road
