Highly recommended
This well equipped, spacious holiday home with a wonderful garden fully lived up to our expectations. There is easy access to Cambridge via the park and ride from St Ives and the countryside nearby is idyllic. The owner, who lives next door, was welcoming and helpful but never intrusive. Highly recommended.
A perfect location for our young family for a stay over Christmas, with plenty space and private garden views. Lyn is an excellent host, and the Cottage is a wonderfully presented property. Everything we needed was provided. We had a very comfortable stay and hope to return in future.
Lovely house in beautiful surroundings. Garden is just lovely and it’s so very private. In nice rural area with very easy access to larger towns and many National Trust buildings to enjoy. Would definitely stay there again if ever in the area. Very much appreciated the bottle of wine and the cookies left for us by the owners, Lyn and Eric who were so very nice and made us feel welcome.
Brilliant- house had everything that we needed and Lyn was super helpful. The garden is marvellous and the village has tennis courts and table tennis tables and a great park for kids ( plus a shop and two pubs). Easy to get into Cambridge and the guided bus was excellent!
A beautiful cottage with a homely feel. Has everything you need for a weekend or a month. We loved our stay here and the local pub has fantastic food and friendly staff. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for hosting us Lyn and Eric
Lovely home, lovely garden. Warm welcome. Nice stay. Thank you for having us.
Mooi huis, mooie tuin. Een warm welkom. Een goed verblijf. Bedankt dat wij hier mochten verblijven.
We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage! The accommodation was spacious and very clean. The living room was comfortable, and opens onto a large garden. We only met Lyn briefly when we arrived, but she was very welcoming, and we were always able to contact her via email if we needed to. Needingworth itself is quite small, but St Ives is only a few minutes away. Cambridge, Ely and Wicken Fen are all about 30 mins drive. A great place to stay if you enjoy peace and quiet and would like to explore the Cambridge area. We would definitely stay here again!
This bungalow is very spacious but in need of some TLC. The garden has many trees which in our opinion are in need of a visit from an arborist. They cut out a lot of light to the property. Unfortunately whilst we were there , we had quite a lot of rain overnight which overflowed the gutters and noisily dropped on the window sill. The owner did come round and did his best to fix it . The location is very good for exploring the area, lots to do within an hour or so drive , the cottage has everything you need and is very comfortable.
The Cottage and wonderful garden had everything we needed and more! We were comfortable even during the 40°C heatwave. It was a great base to explore the area and very handy for Cambridge. Many thanks to owner Lyn for advice and very thoughtfully and well appointed cottage.
The Cottage is well appointed, in a good position with a lovely garden. It is ideally situated for visiting St Ives, Cambridge, Ely and Wicken Fen. Great stay.
Our stay at Lyn and Eric’s place was the perfect accommodation for our family of five. The house is very spacious, we were all able to have a space to go to for some time alone. It was great to have two toilets and a huge full bathroom. The kitchen is supplied with everything you need to cook and store groceries. The garden is absolutely beautiful and great for a tea or coffee and to sit out in the sun. The area is beautiful with close proximity to shops and restaurants and nature preserves to explore. Obviously, Cambridge is not too far. Overall, when we are able to return to visit our family and friends we hope to reserve the Cottage again. Thank you Lyn and Eric.
Had the most amazing time staying in this beautiful house. Lyn was a fantastic host and nothing was too much trouble. I will definitely be staying again and recommending to my friends and family. Thank you Lyn for a truly memorable getaway.
A comfortable, spacious bungalow that had an equally spacious garden in which wildlife was a feature - birds and the occasional grey squirrel, all located in a quite village.
The cottage was a perfect place for my father and I stay during our two weeks in the area. It was clean, quiet, and the perfect size. Lyn was attentive and kind.
We needed a quiet and relaxing week away and that is exactly what The Cottage provided. Spacious, peaceful and very comfortable with a lovely surrounding garden. Several good places to eat nearby and interesting places to visit within easy reach. Very pleased with our choice.
This property is in a great location for exploring the Fen region including Ely and Cambridge. The village has a well stocked shop and access to fenland walks and a marina (with accompanying seals). There are some beautiful nearby villages and access to some wonderfully interesting walks. It's well worth hiring a boat to explore the waterways. The property has a lovely, large and private garden and the house is very comfortable and well appointed, providing everything you need (particularly within the kitchen) for making you feel at home.
The cottage is a large, spacious , clean and comfortable bungalow. The owners are lovely people and a pleasure to deal with.We found it an ideal place for touring this part of Cambridgeshire. The local pub is within walking distance and is an absolute gem. It serves fantastic food at sensible prices. We are already planning a return trip.
What a great place to stay, great location with access to anywhere. Plenty of restaurants within easy reach. Cottage itself is very comfortable and has plenty of space. The gardens are superb we saw a deer in the early morning and a fox in the late evening, great place just to sit and relax. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone.
The Cottage is a wonderful place to stay being extremely spacious, very clean, well equipped, warm and comfortable. Located on the edge of the village it has a wonderful garden with an abundance of birds and animals. It is well located for visits to Cambridge and Ely. There is very easy access to a number of local walks including the RSPB Hanson Reserve and the Ouse Way.

About the host
Hosted by Mrs Lyn Smith
My husband and I have lived in Cambridgeshire for many years and brought up our family here. We moved to our present home in 2006 after falling in love with it. The setting is just lovely and still puts a smile on our faces every time we enter the drive. We hope you will enjoy spending time here as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
We love the fact that it is within a village with a shop and pubs and has easy access to the local town and Cambridge while still being close to nature.
