A lovely place to stay.

We had a great time in this cottage, Mark & Alison were excellent hosts and staying on a working farm is always a bonus. The cottage is situated about 3 miles from Barnstable so close enough to visit & shop without the bustle of being in the town. The cottage is well equiped & clean and the beds were excellent.

Lovely cottage and location

We spent two lovely weeks at the cottage. Alison and Mark were great hosts and gave our three children a tour of their beautiful farm. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped. The location is perfect for exploring the nearby amazing beaches (good for body boarding) and countryside.

Devon in a heatwave!

Perfect location to access SW coastal path, Exmoor walks, National Trust properties. House - lovely and cool in 30 degree heat. Spacious and well equipped. Quiet location, beautiful views. Even though cottage is attached to farmhouse - separate entrance and courtyard so never see the owners or hear any noise from the farm. Hosts v. friendly and welcoming.

Well equipped , comfortable, country cottage

The cottage is a great size and very well equipped, with plenty of storage too. The 3 bedrooms are all a good size, especially the master with en suite shower room. There's a washing machine and two lovely outdoor seating areas; one courtyard style and the other at the top of the vast sloped lawn with stunning views over the North Devon countryside. The cottage is situated on a farm and the owners, Alison and Mark are extremely friendly and helpful; Mark even gave us a wonderful tour of the farm which was great. The cottage is brilliantly situated for exploring the local area and is only 10 minutes drive from Barnstaple. There are some fantastic restaurants within a 10 to 15 minutes drive and, a little further afield, plenty to see and do. We had a wonderful time and found the cottage very peaceful and tranquil with only the sounds of birdsong and the sheep. The only addition I would make would be to add a shower over the bath in the family bathroom. The four of us managed fine as 2 of us used the one in the en-suite and 2 of us the walk in shower room on the ground floor. It just would have been even better if we could have showered in the family bathroom too. However it would be great if you have young children to bath as the bath and bathroom are huge. All in all, we had an absolutely lovely week; the cottage was a lovely, cosy base and Alison and Mark are fantastic hosts.

Wonderful farm and hosts

A large and homely cottage with a wonderful welcome. If you love the countryside, this is the perfect place to wake-up every day. Set in the countryside, but not far from Barnstaple where you can get everything you need. I would definitely recommend this place for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.

Waytown Farm Cottage

We were not your average holiday makers, instead we were Grandparents getting our year 9 grandson back into school. The cottage was an excellent location for the school (about 6 minutes away) and was also ideally situated for getting into Barnstaple being located just off the A39. Normally being located so close to a main road would be a problem, but you hardly heard the traffic. Being situated at the back of the main farmhouse you lose the sun mid-afternoon, so it could be a bit cool in the evenings. The back lawn was excellent, and we will miss sitting out under the hedge with a gin & tonic! Alison & Mark were very good hosts and we will also miss our chats with Mark on farming and things in general.
