Beautiful Two Bedroomed Trullo, Private Swimming Pool, Countryside Views & Wifi

Trullo Martinese is a beautifully restored trullo previously lived in permanently by the owners as their family home and now offered for holiday rental. The spacious and homely accommodation features many original stone features throughout and comprises of a living area and open plan kitchen/dining area, large 25sqm main bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room, twin bedroom (can be made up as a double on request), main bathroom and utility room with washing machine. To the rear of the property is a verandah with luxurious cushioned built-in sofa and dining table and chairs, providing the perfect place for shaded al-fresco lounging and dining. To the side of the verandah is the private swimming pool of 10 x 5 metres, surrounded by mature plants and flowers. (The swimming pool is open May to October and is for the exclusive use of guests at the trullo). Steps lead up to the roof terrace which is perfect for watching the sunset, as well as taking in the 360 degree panoramic countryside views which stretch across to Locorotondo, Cisternino and Martina Franca. The trullo sits in its own grounds of 10,000sqm and is situated on a quiet private no-through country lane amongst olive groves and vineyards. The location provides wonderful open countryside views, and is just 7km from the beautiful Baroque town of Martina Franca and stunning hilltop town of Locorotondo. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Alberobello is just 10km away, and just a little further are the popular towns of Cisternino and Ostuni. Beautiful beaches on both the Adriatic and Ionian coasts can be reached in a 30 minute drive, whilst the must see towns of Matera and Lecce are both just a 75 minute drive away. The airports at Bari and Brinidisi are both roughly a 60 minute drive. The English owners live just down the road from the trullo and as such are always available for help and advice if required, such as restaurant recommendations, suggestions of places to visit etc etc, whilst of course ensuring your total and complete privacy at all times.

Great Trullo in Martina Franca
Clean, well-appointed space and great hosts; Nick and Sarah were very helpful and responsive before and after my stay. The pool is a bonus and welcoming respite after a day of visiting neighboring towns. Location js convenient to do day trips to Locorotondo, Alberobello, even Matera! An amazing start to my Italian vacation!

The Trullo, is as beautiful as the pictures. Sarah and Nicholas are brilliant hosts, going above and beyond, making our holiday even better than expected. A Trullo experience in the country side
An old trullo expanded to accommodate 2 bedrooms and 2 baths…good location for our daily self-guided tours…definitely need a car!…pool was nice but only one day in high 20s made it usable…all good though! Be prepared to kill little bugs on the regular hahahaha We didn’t cook any meals other than breakfast…the host offers prepared meals at a price but we were out and about most times or just brought some bread, cheese, olives back home!

Terrific Trullo
Trullo Martinese is a fantastic property, more than we expected. The Trullo is located off the beaten track but close to some great towns. For us, Locorotondo just pipped Martina Franca but both have interesting old towns with a variety of restaurants and bars. All the main attractions of this part of Puglia were close by with some good beaches only half an hour away. Nick and Sarah are great hosts, thank you.

Beautiful and relaxing holiday
We loved our week long stay at Trullo martinese. From the idyllic setting, to the lovely interiors and the very warm welcome from the owners, we had a fantastic week. The scenery is gorgeous, very quiet and relaxing and the trulli’s facilities (especially the pool !) are fantastic. Fresh figs from the tree every morning for breakfast and homemade olive oil were a great local treat. And a shuttle service from Sarah into the local towns for a night out meant we enjoyed the buzz of the local towns as well as the quiet daytimes. Can’t recommend this highly enough.

Traditional Trullo in a tranquil location.
We had a lovely peaceful stay in this spacious traditional Trullo. It was very well equipped and spotlessly clean.The location is off the main road up a gravel track so a smallish car is advisable. It was beautiful and quiet with panoramic views across the countryside. The gardens surrounding the trullo and swimming pool are well maintained. It is well located to visit the surrounding hilltop villages and places of interest and easy access to both Bari and Brindisi airports. Nicholas and Sarah our hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed a home cooked meal and breakfast which can be ordered during your stay. Overall a lovely holiday which we intend to repeat sometime in the future.

This house has everything you need for your stay in a quiet peaceful location with plenty of options on restaurants and shops in the towns nearby. We were spoiled with being able to pick fresh figs and plums from the trees in the garden every morning for breakfast. The pool is fantastic with all day sun and is surrounded by lavender so you can't help but relax. The veranda is ideally located to watch the sun go down in the evening with a glass of wine. We had a really great holiday and could not recommend this house highly enough.

Perfect Italian countryside retreat
Really fabulous trulli set in a beautiful garden. Hosts Nick and Sarah could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Location is excellent, the nearby Martina Franca is beautiful with excellent restaurants. Many sights in the area and beaches only 40 minutes away. If anyone is concerned about the lack of air conditioning then don't be - the trulli is designed to be cool and fans are provided as well. We survived the Italian heatwave when the night time temp was in high 20s every night - no disturbed sleep at all!

This Trullo is absolutely gorgeous and is much roomier than the photos suggest. The photos do not do it justice. Sarah and Nicholas were very helpful and we knew where they were if we needed them for anything. Great location for visiting all the places of interest but a car is essential for this. Beautiful countryside, olive groves, vineyards, and Trulli all around. Loved the private pool but it was a wee bit cold at this time of year. The aroma of the herbs in the garden and around the pool is quite intoxicating.

Family vacation in Italy
This was my first time using VRBO internationally and I was extremely happy with the service and the owner. I really appreciated that they allowed a 100% refund as close to my stay and that they didn’t require final payment so far in advance. Many American rentals are not so generous or trusting. Fortunately, our travel went as expected and there was no need to cancel, etc. The trullo was lovely and Sarah and Nicolas were so helpful throughout the process. Communications were great and the trullo had all the necessities for cooking meals at home which was much appreciated. They had Italy books and a well thought out binder with restaurant recommendations and instructions that was also much appreciated. The best part was the pool and absolute idyllic location. We swam and went for walks in the olive groves which was just amazing. Martina Franca is just magical. Thank you so much!

Lovely rural location, near facilities
We had a lovely stay at Trullo Martinese. Nicholas and Sarah are excellent hosts, available when needed but unobtrusive otherwise, and the Trullo is very private. The Trullo is in a very rural location, but less than ten minutes' drive to Martina Franca. We never felt cut off, and enjoyed the countryside around us. The access road is quite rough, so don't hire a sports type car! The VW Golf we had was fine. We loved the pool and outside seating area in particular. We tended to retreat indoors in the evenings when the insects came in - one of us is susceptible to insect bite reactions - and found the indoor space to be comfortably cool. We slept very well in the spacious bedroom. One day Sarah kindly drove us into town, and collected us during the evening. Another time she cooked us a meal, adapting the recipe to accommodate one of us who can't eat cheese. It was delicious and plentiful, highly recommended. We easily visited local villages whilst there, with easy drives to get there, and helpful parking recommendations from Nicholas and Sarah. This is a fabulous place to stay and we would happily return if in this part of Italy again.

Beautiful countryside location
Stayed in early May, unusually cold weather for this season, so we didn’t get to use the outdoor pool too much. In spring the property is very green and alive with wildflowers and red poppies. It was simply stunning. The Trullo is in very good condition and was spotless. Nick and Sarah were wonderful and very accessible. The Trullo is located off a very quiet dirt road, so peaceful, I can’t stress that enough. The store is about 10 minutes away in Martina Franca. It is a wonderful location for day trips to other towns. It was a wonderful stay, we will definitely be back. The only thing we had an issue with is the bugs. Bugs like the inside of the Trullo very much. Wear shoes when you walk around. We found a scorpion on the living room floor one morning and I had a large centipede crawling down my back after getting out of the shower. Skittish people be forewarned-You are in the countryside, after all.

Wunderschöner Trullo mit perfekten Gastgebern
Wir durften 2 wunderschöne Wochen in der Nähe von Martina Franca verbringen. Unser Trullo, von den perfekten Gastgebern Sarah & Nicolas liebevoll gepflegt, ist für 4 Personen optimal ausgestattet. Küche, 2 Bäder und 2 Schlafräume sind geräumig und sehr gut eingerichtet. Der Aussenbereich mit dem Freisitz und dem wirklich großen Pool sind sehr angenehm, um abzuschalten, auszuruhen oder sich abzukühlen. Sarah und Nicolas kümmern sich liebevoll um Ihr Trullo und Ihren Gästen und bieten im Vorfeld schon einen sehr guten Überblick an, wo man wie wann was machen kann. Sie sind immer für einen da und checken regelmäßig die Lage (z.B. Müll und Pool), ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Die selbstgemachten Cannelloni von Sarah, die mit Salat und Knoblauchbrot serviert werden, waren hervorragend. Zu empfehlen sind Ausflüge nach Ostuni, Alberobello, Locondotondo und natürlich Martina Franca (beste Empfehlung von Sarah & Nicolas: Pizzeria Ricci!!). Auch Matera ist gut erreichbar in einer Stunde und ein absolutes Highlight. Strandtechnisch ist die ionische Küste mit dem glasklaren Wasser auch ein Ausflug wert. Von Sarah & Nic kann man auch selbstgemachtes Ölivenöl, das ganz hervorragend ist, oder auch Seife erwerben. Alles in allem, für 2 Erwachsene & zwei Kindern (in unserem Fall 15 und 2 Jahre) eine optimale Oase mit vielen Möglichkeiten, was wir sehr empfehlen können.

Très beau séjour au coeur des Pouilles
Située en pleine campagne des Pouilles, cette maison se situe dans un environnement calme et propice au repos. La piscine est très agréable et une belle terrasse ombragée permet de prendre ses repas et d'observer de magnifiques couchers de soleil. Les hôtes sont très prévenants et donnent des conseils pour passer un excellent séjour. Propreté du gîte irréprochable. A recommander.

viva le feste
Isolé au bout du monde mais avec les commerces a moins de 10mn, le lieu est superbe. Les hôtes Sarah et Nicholas ont très prévenant. La communication est très facile. Nous avons passé un magnifique séjour. Merci encore pour le frigo garnie a notre arrivée. La maison a tout les équipements nécessaires et même plus... Même sans climatisation celle-ci est restée fraîche malgré les fortes chaleurs. Après une journée de balade, il est très agréable de pouvoir se rafraîchir et se détendre dans la belle et grande pisicne. Celle-ci est bien pensée et très propre. La localisation de la maison est parfaite pour rayonner dans la vallée d'Istria qui est de toute beauté avec ses villages pittoresques et ses beaux paysages vallonnés. Bref, un lieu que l'on voudrait garder que pour soi. Merci encore a Sarah et Nicholas pour leur accueil.

Heerlijke plek in prachtig Puglia
Het huis ligt heerlijk rustig maar toch op korte afstand van vele bezienswaardigheden. Martina Franca, Alberobello, Locorotondo zijn erg dichtbij en op minder dan ee half uur rijden ook al bij de kust of anders mooie plekken. Nicholas en Sarah zijn erg gastvrij, vriendelijk ontvangst, eigen olijfolie, eigen zeep. Bereikbaar indien gewenst, maar anders discreet. Het huis is een trullo welke gerenoveerd is en uitgebreid met aanbouw. Er is een overekt terras, mooi groot zwembad om heerlijk af te koelen. In de tuin meerdere plekken om te zitten/liggen, er is een BBQ aanwezig. De grote tuin is omringd door een hek en afsluitbare poort. Erg aan te bevelen, vaak een verkoelende wind dus goed uit te houden.

Wir haben uns selten so gut erholt!
Schon der Check-In überzeugte uns von den Vermietern Sarah und Nicholas. Das Haus, ein ausgebauter Trullo, war einfach ein Traum! Am Besten war die Außenanlage! Pool und Garten waren traumhaft! Die einsame Lage und die Stille der Natur bescherte uns die absolute Erholung. Die Nähe zu Martina Franca und Alberobello war toll. Ein absolut empfehlenswertes Urlaubs-Objekt!

Toller Trullo
Der Trullo von Sarah und Nick ist wirklich toll! Und die Gastgeber sind es auch! Die Lage zwischen Martina Franca und Locorotondo ist ideal für Ausflüge in diese beiden sehenswerten Orte, aber auch für die Besichtigung von Matera oder Lecce, Alberobello, Ostuni oder Cisternino. Dank der exakten Beschreibung via Google Maps, die Nick und Sarah vor der Ankunft geben, ist er auch sehr leicht zu finden. Er liegt ruhig (aber nicht einsam!) inmitten des schönen Itria Tales ("Tal der Trulli"), auch geeignet als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen oder Radtouren. Die Gastgeber wohnen ganz in der Nähe und haben uns sehr freundlich mit einer kleinen Aufmerksamkeit begrüßt. Darunter auch sehr feines, lagetypisches Olivenöl aus ihrer eigenen Produktion. Die Ausstattung des Trullo ist komplett (einschließlich großem Kühlschrink mit Gefrierfach) und völlig ausreichend für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt mit Selbstversorgung. Ein Highlight ist sicher auch der sehr gepflegte Pool, der immer für eine Erfrischung gut ist. Insgesamt also unbedingt zu empfehlen! Karl-Heinz & Claudia

Wunderschöner Trullo!
Wir haben 11 Nächte im wunderschönen Anwesen von Sarah und Nicholas verbracht, für uns der perfekte Urlaub! Schon die Kommunikation vorab war perfekt, die Welcome Map und sämtliche Informationen zum Trullo und der Umgebung wurden uns vorab geschickt, so dass man sich frühzeitig einlesen konnte. Die Anfahrt war mittels Google Maps und der gesendeten Beschreibung für uns kein Problem, es wurde auch erwähnt dass das letzte Stück ein Feldweg ist, der aber gut zu befahren ist. Die Zufahrt ist etwas eng, aber selbst mit größerem Auto zu bewältigen. Beim Betreten des Trullos waren wir sofort verliebt, in dieses schöne Anwesen. Alles ist sehr gut gepflegt, hochwertig ausgestattet und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet. Es stehen zwei Badezimmer, ein Wohn-/Esszimmer mit TV, gut ausgestattet Küche mit allem was man braucht und schließlich ein großes Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett und ein kleineres Zimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten zur Verfügung. Highlight ist aber sicher der wunderschöne Pool und die Außenterasse, es gibt auch eine Dachterasse, die wunderschöne Ausblicke auf die Landschaft bietet. Auch die Außenanlagen sind sehr gepflegt, Kräuter und Früchte dürfen verwendet werden! Die Lage war für uns ebenfalls perfekt, in weniger als 15 Minuten erreicht man Locorotondo, Martina Franca und Alberobello. Die sehr netten Vermieter Sarah und Nicholas machten all das perfekt: sehr diskret und unaufdringlich, aber dennoch jederzeit erreichbar und zur Stelle, wenn notwendig, einfach tolle Menschen!DANKE!
