Disappointing and Poorly maintained Bay View cottage.
I'll start with some positives, the location and views were great, near a small shop and walk-able into town (down a steep hill), the parking was enough. The main shower was clean and powerful.
However overall our stay at Bay View cottage in Port Isaac was disappointing due to the property's poor maintenance and lack of cleanliness. The cottage felt neglected, with a shabby and grubby atmosphere throughout. The 'For Sale' board was intrusive, as passersby could easily peer into the front bedrooms with their ill-fitting curtains.
The bedrooms were musty and damp, needing airing upon arrival. The internet was pitifully slow and unusable, exacerbated by the lack of Vodafone signal, hindering our ability to plan activities.
Cleanliness was a major issue. The toaster was full of crumbs, the dishwasher filthy, and plates were left wet. The kettle was grubby, and opening the dishwasher revealed significant dirt under the kitchen plinth. Kitchen drawers were stiff, and cupboards were worn and wonky.
Comfort was lacking with uncomfortable beds and thin carpets. For ten people, a single shower and two toilets were inadequate, with insufficient hot water. The kitchen blinds were broken, and the living room seating was insufficient and uncomfortable, with throws hiding grubby cushions. There was also a shortage of normal-sized glasses.
Overall, Bay View cottage was poorly maintained, unclean, and lacked essential amenities for a comfortable stay. We cannot recommend it in its current condition.
