Another great stay in Belfast

My family and I had another wonderful stay in Belfast. Located a couple blocks from the center of town, we enjoyed having a "home base" walking distance to the water, shops, and restaurants in the center of town. The house itself was comfortable as always with plenty of room to find a quiet spot when needed and a great kitchen for cooking meals.

perfect family get together

I was impressed with how well stocked it was. We all like to cook and it was the best kitchen we have had in all the years of renting from VRBO. The space was wonderful for multiple family members. The location is so accessible to shops and outdoor spaces. It is next to a busy road so there is a fair amount of traffic noise without that this house would be 100% for me. We hope to return again next year.

Belfast’s Home Away from Home- A true gem!

Lee and Charlie’s home in Belfast is the perfect place to stay. The location close to the boat house was perfect for sea glass hunting on the beach and walking into town for ice cream, a new book, a new toy, a beer or to eat at a restaurant. The interior of the home worked perfectly for our family of 5. The house is well stocked with all the necessities and even more thoughtful things for day trips. We had an amazing stay at their home. They communicated with us in a very timely fashion and the check in and out process was very easy. I

Another wonderful week

Our family enjoyed our third summer at this home. We took advantage of the spacious layout and wonderful back yard, and, as always, found new places and activities to enjoy in Belfast. We had a delightful time, and hope to return again.

Great location!

This house was very charming! Perfect for our group of three small families. It had all the basics for cooking, good pans, etc. Wish it had kid (plastic) plates and cups, but that might be my only piece of feedback. The co-op down the street is great, and easy to get to. Belfast is a sleepy little town that’s quaint, and was a not-too-bad distance to Acadia (1:20 mins).

Great Belfast home for large group

The house is large and airy with great porch and patio sitting areas. Comfy beds. The kitchen is well stocked with everything for cooking at home, including large lobster pot, roasting pan, and stock pot. Wish list items - knife sharpener, lobster picks, large cutting board and serving platters. We love to cook! Things to know: parking at the house will work for up to 3 regular sized cars (not trucks or large SUVs). Everything is in walking distance if you don't have mobility issues. Make time for the Saturday Farmers Market and buy lobsters and clams for home cooking at The Lobster Pound!

Incredible house!

We loved staying at this historic house in Belfast -- incredibly appointed, spacious (as the ad says), the reality is much better than the photos suggest! We had both the smaller 2 bedroom apartment with the bunkbed room and large bedroom and kitchen, and the much larger 3 bedroom house. The common areas are grand -- the front porch and side patio expansive... The hosts were a delight. It is close enogh to walk into downtown Belfast, the restaurants, Co-op, etc.

Wonderful family vacation!

The property was just as advertised! Beautiful inside and out! The second "apartment" was perfect for my brother and his young family. There was plenty of room to be together as well as have some privacy. Being a former chef I'd prefer gas kitchen appliances however the electric stove held up great, even using two large lobster pots at the same time! The area was quiet and the front porch was used every morning for coffee. The town is walking distance for anything you need. Due to dietary reasons we cook over 90% of our own meals and the kitchen and dining area was absolutely equipped for the 10 people in our family, from ages 3 to 81. Considering the past 2-3 years we all had, this was a perfect place and exactly what we needed.

Perfect family house

We had the good fortune to stay at Lee and Charlie's house for the first week of August. It was the perfect place for the nine of us, including two small grandchildren. The house is located a very easy walking distance to town and the harbor front, which made everything in Belfast very accessible. The house was very clean, and very well stocked up. My only suggestion would be to have some beach chairs and blankets available, as there are concerts at the nearby park and many beaches in the area. The house was large, with four bedrooms, two kitchens, 2 1/2 bathrooms, and everyone was able to find some private space. There were clear instructions for check in, check out and how to run the washer and dryer. Communication with Lee and Charlie was easy. We loved sitting on the front porch with coffee watching people go by. Everyone in the family commented on how good a house it was for our needs, and I hope we are able to stay there again in the future. Highly recommended!

Charming Home! Wonderful Location!

We had a marvelous week at Lee and Charlie’s home. The house was immaculate, spacious and very homey. It had a combination of old world charm combined with modern features and we thought it was splendid. The home is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The second floor apartment is a nice bonus to give extended family members privacy. The front porch with the rocking chairs was one of our favorite spots to sit and relax. We enjoyed the close proximity to town. On a daily basis we would walk through the park along the Harbor Walk and walk across the bridge back into town to visit the shops. Chases Daily became our favorite go to place in the mornings. It has a great menu and lots of grab and go items. The easy access to Route 1 was fantastic and worked great for our trips to Bar Harbor, Bucksport, Camden, Rockland and Boothbay Harbor. The week was very memorable and we thank Lee and Charlie for sharing their home with us. We definitely hope to rent this home again! Thanks! Mary and Todd C.

Spacious historic house very close to town

We recently stayed a week at Lee and Charlie's place. The house has many bedrooms- more than we needed for the 4 of us! The 2 full shower baths are upstairs (with all the bedrooms) and a half bath is downstairs near the kitchen and foyer. The kitchen is well equipped and is even stocked with some essentials as far as sugar, spices, olive oil, etc. The TVs are outfitted with Netflix (my kids were happy) and we had wireless internet- all while in a very charming old type setting with lovely decor and antiques. You can have the best of both worlds here. We walked to town most days. There is also a nice park just down the road with a great playground (Belfast park). We explored Moose point, Camden Park, Mount Battie and the Harbor area. All around a very nice trip where we could come back home to this house that felt familiar and welcoming. Would most definitely recommend to another family. Only downside: no dark curtains. The cellular shades provide privacy but let in the light. Since it gets light around 5 am, your room is too. So bring an eye mask if you need darkness!

Awesome property!

We chose this house for a family get together as my sister lives in the area so the location couldn’t have been better! Walking distance to downtown shops and restaurants and close to the harbour. This house was one of the best equipped that we have been in…great kitchen with more than adequate dishes and glassware for a large group, plenty of towels and a great supply of paper products and soaps. The house is very spacious but also feels cozy. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

Really a home away from home

My family and I (myself, wife, son, daughter, my mom) all stayed here for a week in late August 2022. The home is so comfortable with plenty of space to relax both inside and out. Some of the things we appreciated most: the deck, table, and chairs in the yard for afternoon wine and cheese, the short walk to the center of town, rainy day entertainment inside (books, games, and of course TV), the generous amount of linens and towels, and the washer and dryer. The home itself is so nicely painted and updated, while keeping the original feel of the house. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Great home for our family vacation and first visit to Belfast. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the front porch, and walking into town. We appreciated the number of bedrooms, big dining room, and historic character of the house. The kitchen is modern and had everything for cooking and baking.

Retired educators from an organic farm in western Maine where we raise asparagus and a variety of fruits, berries, vegetables and flowers.

Why they chose this property

We were drawn to the Belfast community for its proximity to the ocean, hiking trails, and its many offerings and amenities. We live here in the winter and wish to share our home with others when we return to our gardens each summer.

What makes this property unique

The house is in town, allowing us to walk to the library, CoOp, restaurants, theater and shopping. We love the Harbor Walk and the "rail-trail," hiking at nearby Moose Point State and Acadia National Parks as well as the many trails of the Coastal Mountain Preserve. Belfast has small public beaches and a beautiful city park, all within walking distance. Situated between the coastal destinations of Bar Harbor and Camden, Belfast is an ideal central location for a Maine coastal vacation.
