Great cottage, fab location, lovely family holiday

The Cottage is in a lovely quiet location not far from some great beaches. There is everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Loved the Super King size bed and secluded garden! Andy’s communication was great prior to arrival with the added benefit of some top eating out tips. All in all a perfect stay.

It was fine and good for short rent. However main room quite damp and there was mould. Beds very comfortable. Shower in main bathroom needs sorting out and hot / cold in basin very weak.

Cottage near Rock

Undoubtedly a pretty cottage and lovely setting but it is very tired and dated. Deep Clean needed by that I mean move the furniture and clean, plus clean carpets and headboards. If you do not provide sheets and towels make this perfectly clear before booking plus please make sure the pillow protectors and mattress protectors are clean upon each visit. Stained dressing table stool which is most unpleasant. Toothpaste on bathroom carpet. The smoke alarm was dismantled and mucky. Then they advise you they will charge you for the electricity ⚡️ With some care this could be amazing but the details are not correct, as for the downstairs toilet just take this off the details and lock it away!!!

Lovely cottage in the heart of a great community

Perfect location, private garden which was great as we had a small dog. Well stocked in terms of equipment and games. Weather was hot so we made full use of the sun loungers! The cottage is a great place to strike out from, Padstow and Rock are a walk and a 5 min ferry ride, lots of great walks. The beds are very comfy. Main bathroom is a bit dated and the property needed some tlc and cleaning but I know the owner is aware of this and making amends, certainly would revisit again. Amanda

Perfect place for a family with dogs

The cottage is clean and extremely well equipped with everything you would ever need in a property. It is not super luxurious but very comfortable and ideal for those with pets. We would definitely visit again.

Winter break

The Cottage is a very good location, being just a short walk from a good pub, lovely beaches and interesting places. It is quiet and has all the amenities listed. We had a good stay except that the heating was off and the house was freezing. The outside is newly decorated but the inside is a little tired. It is a traditional Cornish cottage and quite spacious. The owner, Andy, is friendly and helpful.

The Cottage, St Minver

Cottage is spacious with a large kitched and sitting room. the garden is useful for keeping bikes and SUPs and large enough for kids to play outdoors. Plenty of parking for trailer and car off the road location is 10 mins from Polzeath beach and 5 from Rock. we were there in peak season but still found moving around easy and found parking without any waiting Andy contacted us early on and made sure we were well informed on arrival. Check in process was simple Overall a great stay. thank you

Great location for beaches, golf, tennis. V comfortable new beds. Helpful owner. Would recommend.

We had a great week at The Cottage. It’s very well located for Polzeath surfing beach, Rock, golf courses, tennis courts, the cliffs for walks, all of which we enjoyed doing. The Cottage itself has extremely comfortable new beds and a modern shower room with very powerful shower. The living room is cosy in the evening with the woodburner and the kitchen is spacious for lots of people. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating and we would highly recommend this cottage.

The cottage

An ideal location for a great week on the north Devon coast, and everything we needed in the cottage which was also nice and secluded, and close to wonderful walks

Perfect holiday cottage!

This is a wonderful, homely cottage, which is perfectly located for the golf course at St Enodoc, days on the beach, Rock’s excellent butcher, baker and fishmonger or as a base from which to explore Cornwall’s coastal walks. We’ve stayed here twice now and it’s worked out really well both times. The quiet garden is a lovely, tranquil place to enjoy a glass or two after a hectic day and the cottage itself has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The spacious master bedroom, with its modern en-suite bathroom, is certainly very comfortable. All in all, a great cottage to rent for a holiday to remember.

About the host

Hosted by Andrew Graham

Host profile image
We acquired The Cottage 20 years ago, having spent many happy summer holidays in the area. We decided to let our property out in order to make improvements to it (including installing central heating and double glazing), whilst trying to maintain the homely, family feel of the cottage. We absolutely love the cottage (complete with “retro” bathroom) and hope guests will appreciate its charm and not expect an impersonal, immaculate modern rental property.

Why they chose this property

Our parents first brought us to this area of Cornwall in the 1960's. We have always loved the rugged coastline, the cliff top walk and the lazy days building sandcastles, picnicking on the rocks and surfing.

We used to surf, using wooden boards...today our children prefer the less stoic option of a wetsuit and "8ft foamie"!

What makes this property unique

Pretty and secluded garden, detached cottage in a quiet hamlet but yet still close to Rock and Polzeath (and all the happens there)
