Very smart and clean, comfortable bed, easy access to Hay, parking, WiFi. Well equipped kitchen, great shower. Lovely garden and surroundings that guests can enjoy. Dogs welcome and there are bowls and mats for the furry friends.
This gorgeous annex is off the busy streets in a quiet location with views from the back garden across the fields. Ideal for walkers and holiday makers. very good value for money with lots of thoughtful personal touches.
We are going back!
Better photos are definitely needed as the aparment was just beautiful! Lovely garden as well. Everything was great for my solo stay, including impromptu drinks outside.
Second visit to this lovely property with our dog.
Has everything you need and is spotlessly clean.
We were there in November - arrived in the snow. But the property is lovely and warm and cosy.
Set in great location - about 15 min walk into centre of Hay on wye. We managed to find the route across the fields this time which was really nice.
Quiet and comfortable - a real home away from home.
Would very much recommend and plan to return again.
What can i say,
5 star throughout, ticks the box for hot powerful shower, comfy bed, peaceful location only sheep for distractions, clean and airy. Plenty of parking and beautiful garden.
Thankyou so much for a wonderful break
Unfortunately we spent only 2 days at this lovely place. We used our time for hiking in the Brekon Beakons and relaxing in the evening in our cosy appartement, which is lovingly furnished and has a great view on the beautiful garden. Thank you for the opportunity to spend time in this admirable garden.
Fantastic little annex with all the amenities you would need to warm up & relax after a day out in Brecon Beacons. The location is very accessible from Hay-on-Wye via a short stroll on foot. The hosts were very accommodating and communicative leading up to check in. My partner and I had an absolutely lovely time at this property, and were sad that we had to leave it!
I had a great stay! The property has everything you need, is very comfortable and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Stuart and Sandra couldn't have been more helpful.
Excellent relaxing stay. Perfect Location.
Sandra and Stuart were amazing hosts and we can highly recommend staying here. We will be returning.
Thank you both so much. Will & Elaine, Nelly & Lola xx
We had the most amazing stay. Short walk down a street, over a bridge and through a grassy field to town. Quiet and relaxing. Could not have asked for a better place. It was just what we needed to recharge and see the town/ country.
Lovely property with lots of different countryside walks from the door. Very nice hosts. Nice counryside walk into Hay itself which was a great place to buy a nook if you wanted too.
Lovely self contained property with all necessary amenities. Stuart and Sandra very welcoming and friendly and the garden is beautiful. 10-15 min walk into Hay and we had fantastic weather which made it so nice. Hay was buzzing with the festival and we will plan to come again. Thanks for a lovely stay
Lovely annex in a very scenic location, 10 minute walk into hay on wye which is a very nice quaint town. Pictures don’t do the property justice.

Relaxing short break at Lansdowne annexe.
A really relaxing short break. The accomodation was very clean and we really enjoyed the cosy feel (especially the underfloor heating ). The kitchen and bathroom were well maintained and provided everything you needed. The accomodation was quiet and the surrounding countryside beautiful and we enjoyed walking into Hay on Wye. I would definitely recommend Lansdowne annexe.
Well what a great place to stay, two adults, one dog and an electric car which I was able to charge from Stuart’s outside plug. Annex was 10 out of 10, very homely, with everything we needed even dog biscuits and a bottle of wine for us.
Walk into Hay took about 15 minutes and Hay is centrally placed for that part of Wales. Bob, Carol and Bertie.
Nice, light and comfartable apartment. In the house there was also a lot of good information what to do in the surrounding. For us it would have been even better when we would have had a short personal contact bij the arrival or one or two days later.
Overwhelmed by how stunning this property was when we arrived. The pictures really dont do the interior of this property justice. Light, airy, exposed beams, beautifully finished from floor to ceiling. Well equipped kitchen, fantastic shower, spacious bedroom and plenty of storage for coats, shoes and clothes.
Stunning. Made a very difficult Christmas very special.
This property was perfect for two adults and our dog. It was spacious and cosy and a lovely base to relax in after a day of walking/ fishing.
Very clean and practical with tiled/ wooden floors in the main areas - fabulous underfloor heating in the main living area and lovely shower in the bathroom. Comfy bed and comfy sofa to relax and enjoy some of the games/ books / DVDs and local information provided.
Great location. Very quiet and beautiful views, but also only a 15 min walk into town - which can either be ' cross country' or via the paths/ road if you want maybe a little less ' soggy/ dryer' route as we did after a couple of rainy nights.
Very easy to get into town to enjoy a mooch and some food / drink
Would very much recommend and look forward to a return stay.

Very pleasant stay. Quiet and peaceful. Appartment has a very spacious feel to it with pleasant view
I would recommend Lansdowne appartment it has a lot going for it. It is in a good position. A pleasant walk into Hay centre, 15 to 20 minutes. We did 3 walks from the appartment. I would recommend the Black Lion for a meal which is in walking distance.
The appartment was very clean and warm. A comfy bed, although the bedroom was a little on the small side, but adequate. Nice dressing table. Kitchen very well equipped. Also bathroom.

Nearby building work
Not as clean as expected. No welcome or welcome pack.
We went to get away from building work noise and ended up to near building noise. Should have informed us to opt to change.

About the host
Hosted by Mrs Sandra Sheldon
We have lived at Lansdowne ever since moving to the area from Nottingham in 2001 and can't imagine living anywhere else. The scenery is amazing, the walks are incredible and the nearness of the lovely little town of Hay-on-Wye is an added bonus.
Why they chose this property
After many years of visiting the area we decided to move here and fell in love with our house Lansdowne, which was being run as a bed and breakfast. The house is in a perfect position with stunning views and a beautiful garden. In 2008 we built the self-contained annexe with the purpose of using it for holiday lets as we were aware that more and more people preferred to have self-catering holidays.
