House worked perfectly for a family… large group house is very close to village… but very sterile …not a cosy home, no warmth. The owner makes himself available whenever a renter reaches out. Wifi poor which was a problem.
Perfect holiday home for a three generation family.
The house is modern and spacious ,very well equipped, and comfortable. Large garden for the children to play in. Easy access to an excellent Restaurant, Boulangerie, and convenience store. Almost enjoyable holiday.
Ma famille a été très satisfaite de son séjour dans votre maison : bon accueil, au centre du village et au calme, bon aménagement fonctionnel de la maison
Spacious and clean house in characteristic Varengeville
Nice spacious and light house. The sea quite close, nice village with everything you need in walking distance.
Very silent at night.
Contact with the proprietor Nord and care taker Jacqueline is quick, friendly and correct. Directions to get to the house are excellent.
The house is situated in a newly developed area, with other modern villas around. All on their own large lawn with no hedges for privacy. The lawns of course need regular mowing, the sound of which can be a nuisance if you want to relax.
The house is very clean. It is also a bit stark, no pictures or other things to cheer up the rooms, no books or leaflets about the area.
We missed a bit of welcome like a bag of tea and some coffee (or nescafe) in the kitchen to sit down after long travel before going shopping.
Also the household stores were a bit low for a house of 10 guests: 3 rolls of toilet paper, one drying cloth for the kitchen, too tight sheets.
The main issue will be the amount of hot water available if you're planning to stay with 10 people.
If you're looking for something characteristic this house wouldn't be for you. If you're planning for lots of outdoor activities then this might be the place to go: huge lawn for playing games and great area to discover by car.
A great property, safe for children. Very well equipped.

An excellent holiday house.
The house is clean and modern. The beds are comfortable. The location quiet but easily accessed. The local area provided plenty of sightseeing although several of the local amenities were closed during this off season. The Terrasse hotel restaurant which is a few kilometres away is highly recommended.
I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to visit the Dieppe coastal area or inland towards Rouen.

Excellent property for a large family
Every member of my extended family loved this light, bright and spacious house and the huge garden was appreciated by my football-mad grandsons! The nearby beach was picturesque and sandy with rock pools when the tide was out. Varengille is a lovely village and the patisserie is amazing! There is plenty to do in Dieppe where there are many good restaurants and we can recommend the Café Des Tribuneaux in the town. It is worth the journey to visit Rouen which is a beautiful city. The owners are very helpful, the caretaker was very welcoming and the house was spotlessly clean and had very comfortable beds. I would certainly return to this property and I can recommend it as as being suitable for all age groups.

Great house, wonderful location.
Our short stay in Varengeville sur Mer was perfect. It was arranged at short notice to coincide with our daughter and granddaughter visiting from Hong Kong. We did not want a long journey time which made the driving very easy, only 25minutes from our home in Hove to Newhaven , 4 hours on the ferry and 15 minutes drive from Dieppe.
The house was very roomy and comfortable and as we were a group of 5 , we had more than enough space. It was very clean and thoughtfully designed.
The owner responded promptly to emails, helpful and very friendly.
We loved the location with all the amenities on the doorstep including the Auberge for lovely meals or a snack.
The patisserie supplied fresh bread and croissants and also mouth-watering pastries !
The surrounding area is delightful for walking or cycling . Only a short drive away are charming seaside towns like Veules les Roses.
We had the added excitement of seeing the Tour de France pass through the village .
We were really sorry to leave after such a relaxing , enjoyable holiday . We will certainly be returning !
Several friends have shown great interest in the property and asked for the link
address.

Great Holiday House
This is one of the best holiday homes we have stayed in. It's a newly built house with the rooms well designed to make best use of the views from the plot of land it has been built on. The house was very warm, we were there in March, and with the addition of the gas fire in the living room we had the option of extra heating in the evenings.
The house it a short walk (about 15 mins) from one of two local beaches. The closer beach has step access from the cliff top and the other flat access from a car parking area. It is possible also to enjoy a walk from one of the beaches to the other at low tide and then walk back via the cliff top taking about 2 to 3 hours to do the round trip.
The owners were very helpful in supplying extra items to meet the needs of our 18 month grandchild which allowed us all to sit around the large kitchen table for family meals.
We visited the local restaurant Auberge du Relais for an excellent Sunday meal, having booked before we left the UK as it was for a special celebration for one of our party.
The local patisserie a 5 minute walk away in Varengeville-Sur-Mer supplied all our breakfast needs with plenty of fresh french bread and the occasional patisserie, for later in the day, if you have a sweet tooth.
The property was very clean and as we also hired linen it made the return home easier as it cut down on the amount of washing.
We would recommend this house to anyone wanting to visit this area of Normandy and needing a property with four bedrooms.

Pleasant house in a lovely area
A group of us stayed at this property in August 2014. We were a group of 9 people including adults and teenagers. I would definitely recommend the house and the area.
The house is a new build on a big plot of land that is enclosed with a fence so it is good for small children. But it was also good for my teenagers who played (soft-ball) cricket and football.
The house is really big and has 5 good size bedrooms. The lounge is massive and was brilliant for family games of scrabble and trivial pursuit. It also has a massive kitchen that is well equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine. The house is decorated to a very high standard, with lots of windows that let in so much light. It was very clean and new so if you are expecting an old french farmhouse this is not for you. I have stayed in old fashioned houses before and learned that the inside can let them down. This is why I went for a new house. I especially wanted good beds to sleep in and we definitely got that: everyone in the family commented that the beds were so comfortable and the area is very quiet at night so you get a brilliant sleep.
We had quite bad weather while we were there but the house is so amazingly warm. Even though it was a bit chilly outside we did not need the heating or the fire on.
The area is very suave and sophisticated. The village has all amenities you require: a small supermarket, a boulangerie, a butchers, a pharmacy, a newspaper shop with English newspapers. The area has lots of beautiful gardens. We also booked tennis courts and went for a very exciting canoe ride. Highly recommend!
About the host
Hosted by Sarah & Nord
We live in London, UK and first visited Normandy when our little girl had just turned one. We knew travelling by ferry and car would be so much easier with a small family, than flying. We completely fell in love with the region on that first holiday and in the following years, we stayed at many different little coastal villages. We then added a little boy to our family and happily discovered Varengeville-Sur-Mer: a magical village, abundantly green, yet so close to the sea. At just two hours drive from Calais we could leave London at 8am and arrive in France for a fantastic meal by 2pm. We loved the area so much, the quiet beaches, the delicious food, the beautiful countryside, that we decided to build the house you now see in the photographs.
Why they chose this property
Varengeville-Sur-Mer is a very unusual and beautiful village, extremely green and verdant with magnificent trees and historic gardens. In Spring it has stunning wildflowers everywhere and sometimes the cows come to visit by the side of our house. In Summer, there are many beaches close by to visit and spend many happy afternoons pottering in and out of sea or in rock pools, stopping only to eat a lunch of moules frites. In the Autumn the leaves are simply stunning and the weather stays a couple of degrees higher than London, so we have even been sunburnt at the end of October! And in Winter, it is quiet yet still so wild, so fresh, so different to our London lives. It is literally like a breath of fresh air and we are forever grateful to have discovered such a wonderful part of France.
What makes this property unique
We chose a plot of land close to the village to build our house on, as we wanted to be able to walk to the shops and not worry about having to take the car if we didn't want to. There are high quality shops to choose fantastic French food from such as the patisserie/boulangerie which is outstanding and regularly has a long queue outside. The house is also situated on the prestigious Rue d'Eglise which has the stunning Bois de Moutiers - a vast garden - with views to the sea, on it. At the end of the road is the famous Church with the Braques stained glass window, again with stunning views of the cliffs and sea. All of this is within minutes of the house. We also chose to furnish our house as comfortably as possible, so you will find everything is good quality and brand new.
