Nightmare Week
Upon arriving the condo was infested with bugs (beetle-like). There were hundreds of them. We couldn't sleep in main bedroom or sit in the living room our first night due to bugs. An exterminator could not arrive until after first night. Still kept seeing bugs crawling even after this but didn't request a second treatment due to heavy chemical smell from treatment. The second night, another party member arrived and found pet hair all over sheets of their bed. The third night, a leak from a ceiling light fixture started dripping water directly on our son sleeping in his bed. We were told it couldn't be fixed because it had to dry out. All owner did was later offer to pay for one hotel room but that would have meant separating the family. While preparing our Thanksgiving meal, we had to deal with a kitchen sink leaking into the cabinet and out on the floor. Nothing was done about this either. The owner was mostly defensive and made excuses...like saying there were no bugs a few days prior to our stay and talking about how the roof was replaced a year ago and the housekeeper must have put the wrong sheets on the bed. This was the worst stay we have ever had in Santa Fe and not the vacation we hoped for. We requested a refund for at least 2 nights of our stay but the owner refused and only refunded us barely over 10% of the total cost (less than one night). The owner was only concerned about his proceeds and VRBO was of no help.
