Great cottage in a lovely location

Great cottage couldn't fault it in anyway the only issue was that the main double bed is quite small and being just over 6ft tall and suffer with a bad back didn't help so the sleeping wise was a knight mare for me but apart from that you just cannot fault anything else it's in a lovely location and the owners have thought of everything.

A lovely place to stay

The house is very well equipped, clean and also very comfortable. Everything was thought of. The contact with the owners was very uncomplicated. If we were to return to Cornwall, we would like to go back to the Melbourne Cottage.

Amazing - beautiful cottage

The cottage is very homely and definitely has that cottage feel to it. The owners have thought of everything in terms of making your stay comfortable. There were fresh flowers, biscuits, tea, milk, soap, household products, etc left for us on arrival - very welcoming. The WiFi worked wonderfully (my 10 year old daughter was happy). The garden was great to sit out in plus barbecue. We would definitely go back - great location too.

Favourite Boscastle Cottage

We have stayed in several cottages in Boscastle and this one is definitely our favourite. As we live in a hot climate, we particularly appreciated the instant heating on a cool, wet night and the updated shower in the morning. The cottage is very well maintained/equipped and is clean, cozy and comfortable. It is situated in an ideal location with an easy walk to the coastal path and local pubs and shops.

First Class Cottage in a lovely Cornish Village

We've been visiting Boscastle regularly for the last 30 years and we feel that Melbourne Cottage is the best accommodation we've ever stayed in - so comfortably furnished and well-equipped. The cottage was the perfect retreat from the cold weather - very warm and cosy. The fresh flowers along with the refreshments on arrival were an added and unexpected bonus. The cottage is well located for access to wonderful scenic walks along the coast path and it takes only 10 minutes to walk to the local pubs and village shops. One final point - the cottage has it's own off-road car parking space which is an asset in Boscastle. We would wholeheartedly recommend this cottage and will be returning there ourselves.

Perfect cottage in a wonderful position.

This cottage is the best we have ever stayed in,it was home from home.It was very clean, warm and cosy.We loved the garden which overlooked the village,we had our coffee our there every morning and it was perfect for our greyhound aswell. The coast path was not far away and the shops and eateries in Boscastle were a short stroll away.We did not want to leave this cottage,we wished we had booked for 2 weeks. We have already booked for next year.

Dog friendly, lovely cottage in glorious area

We loved it! As you can see from other reviews so did others. The owners have carefully thought about what is needed in a clean well maintained snug holiday rental. So on arrival there is a most welcome packet of biscuits and a cuppa to be had sat on the sheltered sunny graveled terrace over looking the valley of Boscastle. We really liked that the little bits were included;- salt, pepper, spare tea bags, instant coffee, sugar, dishwasher and washing machine tablets and enough loo rolls and lovely bed linen and towels The accommodation comprises walled patio terrace with steps leading down to parking area and level gated entrance to road. All great for a barbecue. Open entrance porch for boots and walking poles, leading to corridor off which there are doors to lounge, dining room, WC, and a step up to a small well equipped kitchen.A narrow staircase rises up the landing off which doors lead to 2 bedrooms, double and twin single both with good storage, and a roomy bathroom with bath and separate shower. The area is glorious, great for walking and dogs. The cottage allows direct access to the SW coast path across the fields and it is about 10 mins down into Boscastle, with an uphill return. There is a bus service along the coast which does give some bus walk options. The only thing I noted was our young collie who does agility could easily leap on the wall and jump down the steps but she had to behave. I still give this 5 stars .

Stunning! Best place we have EVER stayed in

Gorgeous home from home. Without doubt the best place we have EVER stayed in. The owners have a superb grasp of what is needed by the weary traveller, providing a starter pack of tea/coffee/milk/biscuits etc, which was a lovely surprise and so very welcome after a very long 6 hour drive. I was more than impressed with how well equipped the property is, everything is provided, right down to a few washing/dishwasher tabs and best of all (for me anyway) there were tongs and scissors in the drawer. I kept marveling everytime I opened a drawer or cupboard, at how much equipment was provided. Loved that I could iron my special dress to go out for dinner one evening. Beds are super comfortable and linen (which was also provided) was beautifully laundered and like new. The courtyard garden was similarly well stocked with two tables, chairs, washing line and a BBQ including coals/lighter fuel/tools, sadly the weather did not permit us to use it this time. Beautifully landscaped and planted, just perfect for my morning cuppa to watch the sun rise and evening glass of wine to watch the sun set. I have already recommended this property to several friends and family members and am sure we will revisit ourselves in a few years time. Thank you for a wonderful week x

A lovely cottage in a great position

We had a lovely week in Melbourne cottage very homely , clean and well positioned to be able to do lovely walks on your doorstep . Although the garden is lovely it was not secure for our 18 month old pug who could walk through the gates and also jumped over the wall for this reason I can only give it 4 stars

Homely, comfortable and charming

This is a lovely, cosy, dog friendly cottage in a superb position, ideal for exploring this part of Cornwall, with beautiful walks from the doorstep. Melbourne Cottage is extremely well equipped and has the added benefit of the internet which we found a huge asset. The Napoleon Inn is only a few minutes away, and offers good beer and reasonably priced food, or The Cobwebs in the main village, about a ten minute walk away, is an excellent pub too. Both pubs are dog friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here, and have already booked to go back next Easter.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely location

We have stayed twice in this cottage now and have booked to go back again. It's clean, well equipped and very homely. The garden is a little sun trap, offering peace and quiet. It's a 10 minute walk down hill to the harbour where there is cafe's, shop's and a couple of pubs. A 10 minute walk across the village takes you to the napoleon pub, friendly staff and good food. Plenty of great walks right on the doorstep and a great base to explore North Cornwall. Looking forward to going back.

Cornish spring break.

The cottage is outstanding, contemporary with all the amenities. It was clean and well maintained. We would have appreciated being told there was a starter pack in the cottage as we brought a lot of unnecessary things with us and the only thing missing (we are being really picky) would have been a melamine salad bowl and servers as we were very conscious of not dropping glasses and breakables outside when having a barbeque. The garden was a little sun trap and best of all entirely gated so the dog could not get out. Jumble had a wonderful time chasing rabbits and visiting the Napoleon Inn - walkable distance! Your neighbours were very friendly too, thankyou Andy and Carole for a most welcome break.

Best place to stay in 30 years in Boscastle

We have been staying on and off in Boscastle for over 30 years. Always thought that owners do not appreciate the needs of a traveller who has driven for many an hour and arrives rather tired. The owners of this cottage have gone out of their way to ensure that your arrival is met with the small things which really make a difference. The cottage is comfortable and furnished to a high standard. The location is perfect for those wishing to walk the dog and also to walk into the village or to the pub!
