Property well looked after, comfortable, plenty of room and activities for children, bathrooms very clean and roomy.Views brilliant, close to all amenities and access to walks and beach, perfect for families.
The whole family found the stay comfortable and relaxing. Everything was supplied for a carefree stay. The location was vey good. Would certainly recommend and hope to return in the future. Thanks for a wonderful break.
I picked Criccieth because I knew it a little and have friends that live in the area, but was very pleasantly surprised with what it had to offer, (great fish and chip shop, coffee and ice cream places)
My son wanted to cycle in the Llyn peninsula and I wanted to sight see such things as Portmeirion, so an excellent location. The house itself very well situated next to the castle overlooking Cardigan Bay. Very well appointed house with everything you need. If we get a chance we will be back.
When we arrived, we were wowed by the views from the front of the property. There is an amazing view of both the sea and the castle. Then we went inside of the property and insrantly felt at home. The house and back garden have so many quirky and individual touches that made it feel special; we loved all of the different artwork throughout the property. Everything that we could possibly need was right there for us. We had the best weekend and will definitely book for a return visit.
If you are traveling with a decent sized group and want to create lasting memories, this is the perfect house in an ideal location to explore Northern Wales. The house is situated in the charming town of Criccieth. You literally can see the castle and the ocean from almost every room in the house. Parking is super convenient and you can walk the entire town in 20 mins. You won't meet finer more welcoming people than those that reside in Criccieth. While the town is small, there are plenty of quality pubs, restaurants, and shops to keep you satisfied. We had one of the best Indian meals at the Spice Bank. There are numerous fun destinations to please all age groups that are within 30 mins to an hour away and Criccieth is a perfect central location to hit them all. The house is warm and inviting with plenty of space and has everything you need. The hosts are very kind in helping in any way they can.
Wonderful spacious house in a great location, with every room having character. Fully equipped beyond the property description and depiction of photos.
We spent a week here with family of varying ages, all who want to return.
All our self-inflicted issues were promptly and positively responded to by the owner who clearly cares for the enjoyment of her guests.
We had a wonderful family Christmas at Ardro. There were 6 of us ranging in age from 27 to 99, it was perfect for all our needs and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The house overlooks the sea, with spectacular views to wake up to. The kitchen is very well equipped with a lovely warming log fire, the sitting room, oh so comfortable with more than enough room for us all and the dinning room a great size for our family meals. We loved the town of Criccieth, and enjoyed daily walks along the beaches. Communication with Jane was easy, with any questions we had, answered promptly. For families looking to stay in this area, we would highly recommend this property.
Beautiful location with lots nearby. Perfect home base for exploring Snowdonia's many walks and hikes. Lovely views of the sea from every window on the front of the house. Loved listening to the sound of the waves as we were lulled off to sleep every night! Would definitely stay again if ever in North Wales!
We enjoyed our stay one or two areas resulted in a overall 4*.
The grill and oven in need of a clean. Some of the bath towels were a bit thin.
Otherwise a nice property with a good location.
Very nice property, accommodation over 3 floors, and multiple bathrooms. Really well equipped house, with living room on middle floor so you can enjoy the views with privacy. The top floor bedroom and adjoining bathroom is superb. Highly recommend.
The property was lovely, had everything we needed and really felt like a home from home. Lounge on the first floor for relaxed evening but also relaxing views downstairs for a quiet moment.
We stayed here as a family of five and it was lovely. Really good location on the sea front and a short stroll to the restaurants and high street. We can recommend the Castle fish and chips and Cadwaladers ice-cream! Jane, the owner, was really helpful and responsive to our queries. They have clearly spent time making the property clean and sanitised. There are hand sanitiser dispensers by the entrances to the house. A really good base for an activity filled week, from hiking in the mountains to Segway in the forest or just sitting watching the dolphins and relaxing.
We 6 loved this property! It's perfectly situated overlooking the beach and is an easy walk to all that Criccieth offers. The house itself was clean and comfy, and as is often the case was even nicer than the photos showed.
Communication with Jane was a breeze, and I'd highly recommend this home for your stay in Criccieth.
Fabulous house, they’ve really thought of everything with the small details like binoculars for dolphin watching, amazing location, perfect for big families (we have 4 children). Highly recommended!

Wonderful house in a great location!
We were two couples and the house was perfect. The master suite looks over the sea and the castle--a perfect place to sleep, relax or have coffee. Plenty of bathrooms, closets, a large sitting room looking over the sea and a kitchen with everything we needed! We had a lovely week!
Jane was very helpful, leaving excellent restaurant suggestions. The town is charming and easy to navigate. Everyone in our party was fit so the 3 story layout suited us just fine. I wouldn't recommend the house for anyone who has trouble with stairs, however. With the kitchen and dining on the ground floor and sitting room and 2 bedrooms & shower/bath on the first floor (American 2nd), the stairs might be a problem.
We loved our week here and highly recommend the house to active adults and families!

Unbeatable location, great house
We were given a warm welcome and shown around the house, and there was a lovely selection of treats left for us too.
The house is clean and well maintained, and stocked with everything you need. The owners use it regularly for family get-togethers so it feels homely.
The location is perfect - right next to the beach, just a little elevated. Also next to the castle and the town. You can walk to a surprisingly well- stocked garage for grocery requirements, and there are supermarkets a short drive away. We were even treated to the magical sight of dolphins one evening, swimming very close to the shore for around 15 minutes or more. The house has several pairs of binoculars, but really the view is just beautiful without them.
Wifi was good throughout the house.
A perfect holiday home for our two families (4 adults, children 15,14,12,11).
Thank you!

Beautiful House over looking the sea
We hired this house for 7 friends to holiday in Wales - and it was perfect. Such a great base for exploring the local area. The house itself is so beautifully presented and very well stocked with everything you could need for a holiday!

About the host
Hosted by Jane Pinnington
I live in Cheshire with my husband Mark. We have 8 children between us and a scruffy little dog called kitty. Mark works as a lecturer at Liverpool university and I am a support worker for the elderly with Dementia. Mark and I are big Harley Davidson fans and when we are not enjoying our house in Criccieth we are enjoying ride outs with our pals on the bike.
Why they chose this property
Our families have always holidayed in Criccieth; our parents, and us as parents with our children. Mark & I married here in Criccieth, and when Ardro came up for sale, we knew it was the home for us. Mark's parents honeymooned 3 doors away from Ardro in 1947. Criccieth and it's way of life is in our blood. If your still in any doubt please check out our reviews.
What makes this property unique
We benefit from the peace & tranquillity that comes with being by the sea in a town that has essentially remained unchanged for decades. Walking (or just sitting) on the beach replenishes the soul. Fishing from the beach or just net fishing from the rock pools while dolphin watching cannot be beaten.
