Had a wonderful stay with family from Switzerland.
The property is stunning, pictures don’t do it justice.
Weather was great, so we were able to take advantage of all the outdoor activities.
Overall a really good stay!
Home was definitely as described, very beautiful, had all the amenities that we needed and then some. Enjoyed the Jacuzzi in the evening after a long day exploring the island. Highly recommend, be aware there are several steps, but definitely doable. Loved our time spent there.
This was our 2nd time staying at the house. Was as wonderful as the 1st!! House was the perfect size for our group of four adults, and with the abundant outdoor seating options, everyone had plenty of space to enjoy the property
Was my Moms 85th Bday.... so much to do and see here! I wish our weather was better but being able to look out to the water and nature around us was great. So much space and areas to hang out... we didn’t take advantage as much as we should have. Great for families and being outside.
The home is very well stocked with everything you might need. The outdoor kitchen, hot tub level is wonderful, as are the sight lines out over Sooke Basin. There are a variety of places to just sit and relax and enjoy the view. Our hosts were very friendly, fun to talk with, yet not intrusive. A very comfy, attractive place to stay.

The view was amazing. Home to come again in the summer months where we can utilize that beautiful outdoor kitchen. Our only wish was that it was more than a 2 bedroom
Wonderful property- exactly what we needed and were hoping for. Great helpful hosts. Plenty to do at the property and surrounding areas.
Two small negatives:
1. It’s a pity the property only sleeps 4. (The cot beds are really only suitable for really small kids).
2. We were really keen to try out the kayaks but the pontoon was a bit too complicated to use for beginners.
But these are tiny things and not enough to stop us having a great week. Looking forward to coming again.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property. The views were spectacular, the property was huge with so many gems. My husband greatly appreciated the gym, my boys loved the playhouse and we all enjoyed dinner on the patio each night. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were extremely comfortable and the owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I’d highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet escape. It is about 40 minutes from downtown Victoria and about 15 minutes to downtown Sooke.
This house has everything! The beautiful house would’ve been enough, but then you see the big, beautiful deck, then walk down the stairs and have a complete outdoor kitchen. Also, a big hot tub overlooking the water that we used every night at sunset. Walked on the steps and have another beautiful spot to sit and relax and read a book while we watched our kids kayak on the boats provided. My son used their small work out gym as well. Loved seeing all of the star fish down on our dock. We would’ve loved to have stayed longer. The property just kept revealing new things to do and see. Can’t recommend it enough! A must stay. And the owners are lovely and responsive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the house is perched on a hillside with beautiful views out over the water from both the living room and kitchen. Eagles soared above in the sky, we could hear the song birds throughout the day and often spotted a pair of loons on the ocean. The living room was comfortable and perfectly cozy with the fireplace lit with wood from a well stocked supply. There were plenty of blankets to be had for a comfortable afternoon 'sit' out on the deck or down at the bottom of a hilllside trail were two adirondack were safely perched with a lookout over the water. We could not want for anything in the kitchen - well stocked with kitchenware readily available. The master bedroom was large, and the bed was extremely comfy. We would certainly recommend this beautifully waterfront home.

Possibly the most beautiful view from a porch in the Western Hemisphere
We stayed a week the end of April and had a thoroughly wonderful time. We discovered two minor problems at the outset but managed to remedy both with a trip to the Sooke hardware store. First, there were no ice cube trays in the freezer. Now there are. Second, there was no French coffee press in the kitchen. Now there is. With those two oversights eliminated, the house is now perfect in all respects. We will be back.
Loved the panoramic view of Sooke Basin. Cottage was commodious. Proximity to the Regional Park was an asset.
Did ask one question to VRBO and didnt get a response on the day before our departure. My husband called the owner once while staying at the cottage and she was accomodating.
The website gave us the impression that kayaks were available for use, but they weren't without the owner coming over to assist.
One person in our group found the outside barbequing kitchen 'spooky'. But that may have been a personal thing.
AS an EV owner, there was not an outlet available from the outside of the cottage for recharging. Though given proximity to Victoria, this didnt matter that much.
My family really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful, relaxing views and a great location close to Sooke and not too far from Victoria. House had everything we needed and hosts were great at communicating. Thanks!

We came to BC with work, and fell in love with the island and the weather. We both enjoy hiking, biking and kayaking, and what better place to do all that than here.
Why they chose this property
Our work brings us all over Canada. (we splice fiber for the telecom industry ) My wife and I have seen some truly amazing places But they do not seem to compare to the AW inspiring views and feeling we get from the East Sooke house property. We hope you can experience it first hand.
What makes this property unique
Rating from previous Guests Erlangen, Germany Great views in quiet surroundings We stayed there for twelve days and really enjoyed the house and the garden with all the variety of birds stopping by, the rabbit family living there and a deer from time to time outside the fenced area. The view over the bay is stunning each time of the day and we didn't get tired of it. We cooked every day, kitchen is well equipped and in good condition. Our son is 6 and the shorter trails had been ideal. Some nice beaches close by. Stayed: May 2015 Submitted: June 15, 2015 Source: VRBO
