Beach House Walk in Crail, near St Andrews – perfect for families, a romantic break, or a golfing holiday - five minutes walk to the beach.

You will feel right at home in our beautiful house and its fabulous location. The house is fresh and clean and immaculately maintained, with lots of little touches to make you feel very welcome. It has two comfortable bedrooms, a well-appointed kitchen and a modern bathroom. A sunny, well-maintained garden at the rear of the house gives a private, outdoor space for fun or relaxation, and our private off-road parking means a hassle-free stay.
The location could not be better – open the garden gate, and a five minute walk down the path takes you to both Roome Bay Beach - where you can stroll on the gorgeous, unspoiled sands - and to the acclaimed Fife Coastal Path, which offers breathtaking scenery.

Alternatively: take the short walk into Crail. This pretty, historic fishing village with its ancient cobbled streets and its quaint, working harbour, has a surprising treasure trove of shops (including an award-winning butcher and an independent bakery), and restaurants where you can experience the finest, freshest Scottish seafood, and a variety of shops you won’t see on the average High Street.

If you’re a golfer, you’ll be delighted to know that Beach House Walk is just eight miles away from St Andrews, the iconic home of golf. There you’ll find the largest public golf complex in Europe, with another 17 golf courses to choose from, all within a 15 minute drive. The regular bus service (Just walk out the house, stick your hand out and he’ll stop!), will drop you 500 metres from the door. Or, strike out in the opposite direction, and explore other charming, historic East Neuk fishing villages – all from your own door step.
If you want to explore further afield, Perth, Dundee and Edinburgh can all be reached within an hour’s drive.
Some days you just want to chill at home, and for those days Beach House Walk offers an enclosed garden at the rear – with that enticing gate tempting you down the path to the beach. There’s a barbecue, garden furniture, and beautiful views over the fields. Sit in the garden with a glass of something nice while dinner cooks, and feel your cares just slide away. And everywhere, there is the scent and sound of the sea, and the fresh Fife air. You’ll find yourself starting to relax from the minute you get here.

Beach House Walk has eight bicycles, beach toys, wellies and fishing nets which you are very welcome to use at no extra charge.

Cozy cottage in sweet town near Fife Coastal Path

Thank you Kirsty for sharing your home with us while we settled our daughter in for another year at St. Andrews! We especially enjoyed easy access to the Crail beach, and a variety of amenities and restaurants a short walk to town. The quiet neighborhood led to sound sleep. The "she shed" was a plus!

Great find in Crail

Kirsty's property was ideal for our brief stay in Crail. She is clearly a very experienced host who seems to have thought of everything, both in terms of her dealing with clients as well as the provisions in her home. All her communication with us was exemplary and I cannot think of any way of improving things. Thank you

Coastal Retreat

This well appointed holiday retreat, 15 minutes stroll from the beach, gave us all the facilities we needed. Decoration and themed decoration reflected the name "Beach House Walk". Location is excellent for exploring East Neuk and its fishing heritage. Thank you for a wonderful break in your lovely home. Graham and Janet

Lovely house in great location

Just back from a fabulous holiday in Crail. Super part of the country and easy access to St. Andrews, Elie etc. House was lovely - quite small but well fitted out and perfectly suited for the three of us. Garden was quiet and secluded and included a summer house which was a lovely place to sit and contemplate life with a wee refreshment. The garden gate gave access (via a short walk) to the Fife Coastal Walk which is beautiful. All in all, an ideal holiday cottage Kirsty was lovely to deal with and answered all queries promptly.

Weekend Break

Ideal location with stunning views and enjoyable pleasant walks. The property was spotlessly clean with all amenities and within a quiet residential area. There were nice welcoming touches to make you feel that wee bit extra was done to ensure a relaxing stay. We would recommend and have no hesitation in saying the Owner provided great customer service. It is a short walk to the village centre and harbour with ample eateries and things to do.

Very comfortable seaside home

We stayed at this pleasant home away from home after dropping our daughter off at St. Andrews University. It was our first visit to the area, and we thought the location was perfect for enjoying the coastal trail, golfing , and quick visits into St. Andrews and surrounding attractions. Thank you, Kirsty, for preparing the home so well for our stay, for the gifts, for your help when we had questions. We plan to visit frequently over the next 4 years, and hope to return to Beach House Walk!

Relaxing and comforting

Visited with my parents who were over from Australia (mum from England and dad from Scotland originally). We came to Crail as it has a family connection as my grandfather grew up here. The Beach House was a perfect location to stay for a few days. Great facilities and close proximity through the back gate down to the sea and beach. The wonderful personal touches with a postcard welcoming us and little treats were most welcoming. Was clean and very well maintained. Instructions on how to turn on the heating, bins etc were very clear. We took advantage of the bikes and did some short rides around the area. Crail is a beautiful part of the Fife Coast to visit - tranquil and cosy feel for a village. Unfortunately we missed out on the Lobster Hut being open as a bit too early and we were there during the week. We did get fresh dressed crab from one the local shops which was delicious. We had wonderful food at the Golf Hotel and local fish and chip shop. A must visit is too Crail Pottery. The Beach House is a perfect location to explore the surrounding towns and villages and a welcome escape from those busy places. We visited St Andrews, the Secret bunker (well worth it), Kingsbarn Distillery (they will have their first whiskey next year) and they are also building a gin distillery on site. A wonderful revival of an old building. Pittenweem was pretty to visit as well. It was quite chilly the first couple of days but the sun did come out and did a part of the coastal path. I would definitely revisit Crail even if no family connection and use the Beach House as my base. Thank you Kirsty.

A great home from home in a lovely location.

The house is great. Spotless and very well presented, with a nautical/beach theme throughout and it had everything that our family needed, including games to play for all the family, a wee dram on the shelf, a basket of other goodies including a bottle of locally brewed real ale and cupboards stocked with tea & coffee so you didn't need to worry about bringing your own. Cheers Kirsty. The location is ideal and only a short walk to the beach and the village where there is a couple of decent pubs/hotels to have a drink and a bite to eat. Lot's to do and see in the area. We were there to visit St Andrew's and the university with our daughter but we also visited The Secret Bunker, which is literally on the doorstep and really interesting, even our tenage kids liked it, Tentsmuir where we saw seals bobbing about in the sea and Kingsbarns beach is fabulous for the rock pools and the Inn at Kingsbarns does really good food too. Kirsty was so helpful from the initial booking, through to our arrival and then our actual stay at the house. We really appreciated the initial phone call when she called and explained all about the local area and where everything was and what we could do. Should our daughter pick St Andrew's University or we come back to visit for any other reason, this is a house we would come back to stay at.

Great house, great location, lovely area.

We arrived on the Friday afternoon to find a home from home. First impressions were very good, the house was spotless with a sea theme running in every room. It was very well furnished & our girls were soon upstairs choosing which bed to sleep in. There were also plenty of tourist information etc for the local area & Fife. After we settled and had some food we followed the sign in the large back garden pointing to the beach and it didn't take us long to get there and there was the added bonus of a small park. On the Saturday morning we decided to go exploring which was greatly enhanced by the fact that there were bikes in the garage. After making sure everything was good we were soon heading into the village and exploring a bit - the pottery shop is lovely & the steak & sausages we got from the butcher were superb! On the Sunday we went exploring round the area first visiting the beach at Kingsbarns - great rock pools for the girls - before heading to Anstruther for lunch then down to Elie for more time at the beach and we could even see the beach in a East Lothian that we go to! All of these are lovely places all within very easy reach of Crail. It was time to leave on the Monday morning but we extended our holiday by spending the morning at Craigtoun Country Park and the afternoon in St Andrews before heading home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Crail and exploring the area. The location of the house was ideal and as I said at the beginning, it was a home from home. We even got lucky with the weather! After we made the booking I had made an enquiry with Kirsty. She phoned that night to explain and she told me about the area and things to do & see which was a real help. We would definitely book here again and highly recommend it.

Great location in a quaint village

Beach Walk House is a well maintained property in a great location! It is about a 10 minute stroll to the beach down a private path and a short walk into the village of Crail which smothers you with historic appeal and quaintness! Although I was staying there as a single, the property would have even more appeal to small families with bicycles available to explore the town and beach area and an attractive back yard for young children to play in. Amenities included 2 televisions ( one in the living room and the other in the master bedroom) which worked well and accessed numerous channels. Also, the WIFI signal was strong and consistent. I was volunteering at a golf tournament in St. Andrews, which was only a 20 minute drive away. Access to other fishing villages was easy along the coastal route, which was fun to drive just for the scenic value! I would solidly recommend this property to a couple or small family. You will not be disappointed!

Comfortable, well equipped house in great location

This is our second stay in the house. It is really well equipped and comfortable. The garden is lovely to sit out in and our boys enjoyed playing in it. Crail is a lovely place and it's wonderful to have the beach and village so close by. It's a great base for the area with gorgeous big beaches at Kingsbarns and St Andrews. We hopped on the bus as described, nice to have it so close by. There's lots to see and do, we'll be back again soon.

lovely property, well furnished in great location

We found the facilities in the property to be as expected from the website. It was clean and had everything we required for our short stay. It was good to have the bikes available for our use and the garden was a good size for the children to play in. The house is in a great location for walking to the shops and the local amenities. The beach is just 5 minutes from the door. We would recommend this property. Customer service from Kirsty was excellent.

Excellent

The house is set in the quaint little town of Crail, but is also easily accessible to St. Andrews for golfing, Craigtoun Park for the kids, and great food. The short walk to the beach is enjoyable for the whole family. We absolutely loved our time here in the Beach House. If the opportunity arises later in life, we will definitely be visiting again. Kirsty is a phenomenal hostess and will bend over backwards to help in anyway possible.
