Cobblers Cottage is a lovely stone built grade two listed three storey townhouse dating back to the 17th century. It is positioned in the centre of Belford which is an old coaching village, the house overlooks the village square which often hosts markets & village events. The extra large windows allow the light to flood in making the lounge/ dining area very bright & sunny . The kitchen is well equipped & there is a good sized entrance hall leading from the kitchen with double doors that open onto a rear patio & a gated gravelled area.

This is a fantastic property to stay in. We felt at home straight away and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the area. Sue is a fantastic host from check in, queries or questions to check out she was very generous and helpful.
Good size property in perfect location.Well equipped kitchen, good size living/dining room.Really good host who was prepared to sort any problems to make sure stay was enjoyable.Lovely welcome hamper. All in all good stay
Absolutely fantastic property, Sue has thought of everything you need for a wonderful stay. From the welcome hamper with local produce through to information about the area, everything is there for you.
An excellent base to explore the area, castles, beaches, walks if that is your thing. Easy to get the train to Edinburgh if you want to.
If we revisit the area, this is the place we’ll be staying in.
Perfect accommodation for our needs. Spent three wonderful days walking the Northumberland coast path using cobblers cottage as a base. Both quiet and convenient.
It's our second time staying at The Cobblers Cottage and as with our first we couldn't fault it, great location, welcoming holiday home, Sue was great with communication and the welcome package was a great, Mandys cake is still as lovely too.
This property is amazing, so well stocked with all of the things you need with 3 children. The welcome baskets and little treats we such a blessing after a long drive. For our son, who is autistic with ADHD, the neutral décor and clean smell were very helpful. It was a great location for the main attractions locally. The farm shop and village were lovely places to be based.
Superb accommodation with plenty of room. Excellent decor and a real homely feeling with a very good selection of guide books and maps. All facilities were high quality which ensured a relaxing holiday. Would happily stay again
We had such a wonderful time staying at Cobblers Cottage. Sue has taken so much care with the accommodation, it’s cosy, clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Loved the local art and decoration all around the house, it has a home from home feel and you can tell Sue genuinely cares. The generous hamper was a lovely added bonus and the homemade cake gone far too quickly!
Belford is so handy for trips as just off the A1. First stop for us was Bamburgh and Holy Island. I love a castle and we found another 7 in the area! Especially loved Alnwick and the coastal walk up to Dunstanburgh castle! If you love hiking, the Cheviots Hills are stunning, Hen Hole and Yeavering Bell beautiful. Even managed a day up to Edinburgh. And the Farne Islands for puffins.
We couldn’t have stayed anywhere better and felt so at home. Now we have discovered Northumberland, we’ll be back, even after an 8 hour drive!!
Thank you Sue!
What a beautiful cottage! It was clean, spacious and have everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen is superbly equipped for cooking at home. The location is fabulous with everything you need on the doorstep. There is a co-op down the road, a wonderful tea room, a newsagents, a farm shop with tea room which was lovely. Bamburgh castle is a 10 minute drive and lindisfarne is about 20 minutes with Berwick and Alnwick about 30 minutes so it’s very centrally located. Our host Sue was wonderful and communicated with us excellently. The little welcome hamper was beautiful (and delicious)! Thankyou!
Highly recommend cobblers cottage and will hopefully be back to stay again in the future! Thankyou Sue for a wonderful stay.
The Cobbler's Cottage was a perfect base for our holiday in Northumberland. It had everything we needed and our five year old LOVED her bedroom and the toys and books available to her. The cottage is very homely and the beds are so comfortable. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise. Sue was a fantastic host and communication was brilliant. I would definitely recommend Cobblers Cottage to anyone wanting to visit Northumberland.
Cobblers cottage is wonderful. Our children loved all the books and toys on the top floor. The cottage is decorated beautifully. I did move a few items for fear of our young children breaking anything!
You will have everything you need here for a very comfortable stay. The host Sue was really kind and communicated well, offering to check us in a bit earlier and checking out later to help with our young children.
The garden is enclosed so our dog could sit outside when he wanted to. Beds are comfy and the house is very warm.
Only 8 minutes drive to Bamburgh so it's in a great spot. Coop and self serve launderette round the corner.
We also managed to park two cars on the drive which was helpful.
Well recommended and we will return!
Thank you x
Lovely cottage on the Main Street of small town, communication with all check in details were clear, and Sue made herself available by phone at any time.
There was an added warm touch of a welcome package with a few necessities to add to the stay.
The location was perfect for exploring the East Coast area
Well equipped. Everything we needed. Warm. Really nice welcome hamper. Lovely home made cake and local produce. Centrally situated for local walking. Would definitely stay again.
What a lovely home and host, we didn't actually meet Sue but we've stayed in many holiday homes over the years but never have I felt like it was an actual home. From the welcome hamper, with its lovely homemade cake and Jam, Sue's sister is a definite gem for providing such treats, to the warm welcoming house. Could not fault it at all and with the weather as it was we spent every afternoon cosy with our dog in the welcoming lounge. Communication was great as well, felt like chatting with a friend rather than a host, would definitely recommend staying must be great in the summer.
We loved staying here. I had a newborn and was worried about staying away from home. She was great and made everything clear with the booking and accessing the property. She left a lovely hamper for us and the property was close to a shop and a lovely pub. We were able to visit all the local features and loved coming back to the cottage as it was very homely and warm. The games and toys were a super bonus and the kitchen was well stocked with little bits. We would love to stay again.
Fabulous property, perfect for a family of 5 and 2 dogs, tons of space for everyone and very well equipped property. The owner was incredibly welcoming and easy to communicate with - it was worth the 4hr drive just for the fabulous welcome basket (one of the best cakes I’ve ever had!).
Loads and loads of things to do in the local area - just make sure you take decent waterproofs with you. We’ll definitely be returning.
Perfect stay in this cottage. There was a visible feel of care and love in this cottage. Sue left us an amazing hamper with local treats and the house was furnished with everything we could possibly need with our comfort in mind. The twin rooms were beautiful on the top floor with great views over the village and countryside. The double was on the 1st floor adjacent to the bathroom and was spacious, had a tv& and perfect for my mum who was with us. The living & dining space was bright and airy with views through the door/shop front of the old cobblers shop onto the village street but blinds gave plenty of privacy. An electric fireplace heater made the space cost in the evenings. Lovely wee outdoor space too for stargazing. Perfect stay & location for exploring the north part of the northumbeland coast.
The cottage was well equipped and felt like home.
The little touches such as games and books had been well thought out and was such a welcoming place.
My only regret is that we only had 3 nights to enjoy it.
Sue was a great host, answered questions quickly, and genuinely cared whether you were having a great time. The food in the welcome basket was absolutely delicious! (The cake was gone far too quickly 😊)
Thank you for such a wonderful few days!

I have lived in Northumberland all of my life & wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Paul & I have been married 40 years & have two daughters & three grandchildren. Both of us coming from large families means family & friends are very important to us (any excuse for a get together). Cobblers Cottage feels like an extension of this I love getting ready for guests arrival & try hard to make sure that I have catered for anything that I think will be needed. It means a lot to me that you feel welcome & "at home" . I try to provide those little things that are a pain to go out & buy on your holidays. I well remember arriving at our holiday cottage after a very long hot drive & not even having a tea bag & milk , therefore you will always arrive to tea coffee milk & a little welcome pack, my sister (auntie Mand)provides me with home made cake & jam made with fruit from her organic allotment. I can't control the weather, but I want you to feel comfortable, relaxed & to enjoy Cobblers as much as we do. Treat it as your home that's the biggest compliment to us & hopefully we'll be welcoming you back soon.
Why they chose this property
Cobblers is a lovely house, it's bright , homely & very relaxing. It's perfect for families being over three floors, or for couples as you just dont use the top floor. I love the position it's so central for coast & country in a fabulous part of Northumberland. The Scottish borders are just a short drive away & East Lothian is well worth a visit. North Berwick is a lovely day out with a trip to the Seabird centre & a boat trip round Bass rock . It's hard to appreciate how well positioned Cobblers is for exploring this lovely area.
