A tranquil jewel in the Andalucian countryside with beautiful gardens.

The villa is an independent holiday home with complete privacy, adjacent to the owner's home.

It is approximately 30 minutes from the coast and 50 minutes from Malaga airport.

Finca Almendra nestles in the tranquility of the foothills of the Sierra Tejeda Natural Park, one of Spain’s prime walking regions and overlooks the delightful white village of Sayalonga.

Following considerable improvements in September 2021 the 3.5km access road from Sayalonga is mostly concreted.

Local Amenities: Sayalonga has a bus service, shops, chemist, post office, restaurants, bars and public swimming pool. The typical Andalusian plaza where there is a Friday market and is a perfect spot to sit with a drink and watch the world go by!

We are flexible with our rental start dates to enable guests to take advantage of lower cost midweek flights.

Glorious
We had a wonderful, restful holiday. Bob and Chris were perfect hosts - there when needed but never intrusive. Although my limited mobility meant that we couldn't fully enjoy the gardens, the facilities were perfect.

Perfect for relaxing
Beautiful views, spotless property and lovely garden. We had a very relaxing 12 days here - much needed 'time out' during an extended tour of Europe. Bob and Chris were very kind, happy to help when we needed it, but also respected our privacy so we never felt 'overlooked'. We stayed in late May/early June and although there is no air conditioning, the pedestal fans were fine for keeping everyone comfortable. Note that there is no conventional oven (so don't arrive with a pile of frozen pizzas like we did!) and remember to pack the insect repellent for outside.

Ruhige ländliche Idylle
Sehr nette Vermieter, die auch in der Finca wohnen und immer gute Tipps zu Ausflügen und Restaurants haben. Die Finca liegt ca. 15 min mit dem Auto von Sayalonga entfernt, der Weg ist etwas abenteuerlich, aber nach 2 bis 3 Fahrten gewöhnt man sich daran. Die Wohnung liegt im hinteren Teil der Finca, so dass nan die Aussicht vom Pool nicht von der eigenen Terasse genießen kann. Die Wohnung ist für 4 Personen gut ausgestattet, aber ohne Grill und Spülmaschine. Mückenschutz nicht vergessen! Malaga ist 50 min entfernt und Nerja 30 min. Die Gegend bietet gute Wandermöglichkeiten.

Schöne Finca, sehr netter Gastgeber, interessante Anfahrt.
Die Finca ist wirklich schön und recht abgelegen. Tipp1: nehmt einen kompakten Mietwagen mit nicht zu niedriger Motorleistung. Die Anfahrt zur Finca hat einige „erster Gang“ Passagen. Fahranfängern ist die Anfahrt eher nicht zu empfehlen. Bob und Chris, die Vermieter, die direkt nebenan leben, sind sehr nett und haben hilfreiche Tipps für Ausflüge und Restaurants in der Umgebung. Fincas in Andalusien haben eines gemeinsam: Ameisen. Davon hatten wir hier etwas mehr als gewöhnlich. Nach einigen Tagen und dem Einsatz eines wirkungsvollen Sprays haben wir das in den Gruff bekommen. Tipp2: Lasst einfach keine Speisen oder Speisenreste rumstehen. Der Pool: liegt in einem sehr schönen Garten mit zauberhaftem Ausblick auf das weiße Dorf Sayalonga und durch das Tal bis zum Meer. Wir haben die Abende genossen, mit Sternen- und Satellitenbeobachtung. Toll! Tipp3: Nutzt die gute Lage der Finca, um interessante Tagesausflüge zu machen. Wir waren in Torre Del Mar, Malaga, Marbella, Algarrobo Costa und, das Highlight, Ronda. Aber auch Granada, Córdoba oder Sevilla kann man in 2-3 Stunden erreichen. Chris und Bob haben einen Hund, die Chica. Die hat uns häufiger besucht und ist richtig süß. Fazit: Wer mit der Interessenten Anfahrt gut klar kommt findet in der Villa Almendra einen sehr schönen Urlaubsort mit netten Vermietern und unglaublich gut riechender Wäsche. Bob ist allgegenwärtig und für die Mieter ein angenehmer Ansprechpartner.

Prachtig plekje
Mooi en schoon huisje naast dat van de eigenaren Bob en Chris. Hele aardige mensen die je met alle hulp en tips bijstaan en je verwelkomen met eigen gebakken brood en taart. Het uitzicht is van alle kanten geweldig. Je kunt er de hele dag naar kijken. Het is echt een plekje om heerlijk tot rust te komen!

Zum Abschalten vom Alltag sehr empfehlenswert, man kann direkt vom Haus aus wandern. Viele Wanderziele sind nach kurzer Autofahrt zu erreichen. Traumhafte Landschaft. Sehr nette Vermieter.

Wonderful finca in the Andalucian hills
We loved our stay at Bob and Chris’ finca Almendra. They were gracious and warm hosts - who not only have a marvelous home - but are also full of great tips for outings, hikes and restaurants. We felt very much at home during our stay. The pool is fabulous and the finca is lovely, it has everything you need for a great vacation. Plus they also have the cutest dog: Chica, so bonuspoints for her. Will recommend this to everyone and hopefully will come back sometime in the future.

Great place, beautiful views, very hot
Well equipped villa with everything you need. Beautiful view, nice pool en Chris en Bob are very friendly people. We were there in july and it was very hot. Above 30 degrees, airconditioning is really needed, because the temperature in the house was rising each day. We enjoyed every day and the road to the villa is challenging. En términos generales muy contentos con la estancia. Un lugar para desconectar de todo. La casa muy bien. Lo peor el carril para llegar hasta la casa (no recomendable para ir de noche ) y que el porche junto a la piscina es de los propietarios que viven allí.

Finca mit beeindruckenden Blick auf die Berge und das Mittelmeer
Die Finca gehört einem englischen Ehepaar, Chris und Bob, und ist direkt an das Haupthaus angebaut. Chris und Bob leben dort seit 16 Jahren und kennen die Umgebung so gut das sie viele gute Tipps geben können für Ausflüge ins Umland oder wo man was am Besten bekommt. Die Finca ist so gebaut das man auch außerhalb seine eigenen Bereiche nutzen kann zum Beispiel eine eigene Frühstücksterasse mit Markise. Die Umgebung ist ruhig und man kann gut entspannen.

Beautiful Villa in the raw mountains- Pool and sea view - stunning nature and flower garden
It was a fantastic stay in the finca Almendra on the mountain, very detailled beauty in the garden, many flowers, a small beautiful waterfall, many unique chill areas, beautiful couple which lives also on the area and is very polite, pleasant, helpful and warm hearted. I was very happy to have Bob and Chris and their old dog lady around, to have nice chats with. I can highly recommend this beautiful flat on the very unique, extraordinary nature ranch! It is on a hill, without any people- just YOU and the NATURE 💫🌊🌿⛰🏝 The energy in this spot is very high, for everyone which is connected to Mother Nature, and wants time alone. Die Finca, in Sayalonga ist ein Traum, für alle , die Spaß haben, mal etwas anderes , zu erleben! Wir haben, jeden Tag, den Blick ins Tal genossen.Die wunderschönen Wanderungen, auch zur Küste,ist es, nicht weit. Danke an Chris und Bob , die uns versorgt haben, mit reichlich Info Material, um auch kulturelle Gegebenheiten kennenzulernen. Wir haben , uns sehr wohl gefühlt, jederzeit wieder!

La casa no se encuentra a kilométro y medio del centro de Sayalonga.
En el anuncio se explica que la casa se encuentra a kilómetro y medio de Sayalonga, no es cierto. Para acceder a la casa hay que recorrer uno de los dos caminos de acceso sin asfaltar con los que se puede llegar. En cualquier caso se trata de dos caminos con pendiente a un barranco , subidas y bajadas y se tarda mínimo 10 minutos. En uno de los caminos se pasa incluso por una granja de cabras. La casa está bien, está limpia y Bob y Chris fueron personas amables con nosotros. Aún así decidimos no quedarnos más de una noche en su finca porque no llevábamos comida para más días y aquello está alejadísimo de todo, y con un acceso que nosotros consideramos peligroso, circular por esos caminos una vez anochezca es una temeridad, y yo que llevo conduciendo desde los 19 años lo hice con muchísimo miedo. Repito que la descripción del acceso a a la finca no corresponde con la realidad.

Vacaciones de 10
Sitio perfecto si buscas desconectar y alejarte de las aglomeraciones pero a su vez a 15 minutos de preciosas playas y paseos marítimos con movimiento. A 10 minutos de la casa tienes el centro de Sayalonga, pueblo blanco, bonito para pasear por sus calles. La ubicación de la casa en cuanto a vistas es impresionante, también está bien ubicada para visitar, Nerja, Frigiliana, Málaga capital, etc... La casa está genial, Bob, Chris y Chica son muy buenos anfitriones. En la piscina se está de cine y los desayunos y las cenas en el porchecito de lujo. Lo único que me asustó un poco el primer día fue el camino hasta llegar a la casa... y digo el primer día porque la verdad que una vez que lo recorres te das cuenta que no es para tanto y te atreves hasta a conducirlo de noche ;-) jejeje lo dicho, la tercera vez no es para tanto. Todo fue genial!

Tolle Gastgeber und wundervoller Urlaub
Nach einer Woche in Andalusia Sayalonga, sind wir hellauf begeistert. Wir bewerten die Finca insgesamt mit 5 Sternen. Sauberkeit, Lage und Super Gastgeber. Wir waren 7 Tage dort, die Anreise zur Finca war jeden Tag aufs Neue ein Erlebnis (ein Geländefähiges Auto wäre hier von Vorteil). Die Vormittage bis zur Abendsonne verbrachten wir in der Finca und im Pool. Der Pool ist sehr groß und kühlte uns jeden Tag von dem wunderschönen Wetter ab. Die Abende verbrachten wir an naheliegende Küsten. Dort aßen wir zu Abend an den wunderschönen Strandpromenaden. Abschließend können wir sagen, dass dieser Urlaub echt Erholung war und wir sehr zufrieden waren mit der Auswahl dorthin zu Reisen. Chris und Bob haben eine wunderschöne Finca in mitten eines Paradies. Wir bedanken uns für eine tolle Gastfreundlichkeit.

Die Anfahrt war sehr abenteuerlich aber aufgrund der guten Beschreibung was das Haus leicht zu finden. Von den Vermietern wurden wir sehr freundlich aufgenommen und über alles rundum informiert. Ein schöner uns ruhig gelegener Ort um auszuspannen und abzuschalten mit einel tollen Blick bis zum Meer.

Un paraje para descansar y recargar energías en familia
El alojamiento esta muy bien con todas las comodidades que necesitas para pasar varios días si quieres, sin salir del mismo. Tiene una piscina con unas vistas a la sierra de la Axarquia que te invitan a pasar horas contemplando. Los inquilinos viven en la misma villa pero su presencia no interrumpe a penas la estancia allí y son muy majos. Recomendable ir con un vehículo un poco alto ya que el camino de acceso a la villa es muy abrupto por la sierra (no es para compactos y deportivos).

Nature et calme
Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans cette villa implantée sur un flanc de montagne. La piscine surplombe la vallée avec un visuel lointain sur la mer et sur le village de Sayalonga situé à moins de 15 min. Le jardin est magnifique, très fleuri et doté d'arbres fruitiers. La proximité des propriétaires est un atout, très gentil et discret, ils nous ont apporté de nombreux conseils(randonnée, restaurants, magasins, souvenirs...). L 'accès de Sayalonga à la propriété est original, la route est carrossable et sinueuse avec quelques tronçons bétonnés.Une réfection est prévue prochainement.

Estancia tranquila y relajada en la montaña malagueña
Hemos pasado una semana en Finca Almendra, muy tranquilos, disfrutando de la piscina y la naturaleza. Para acceder a la finca hay que ir por un camino de tierra con algunos desniveles, por lo que es mejor un vehículo alto. En la finca dispone de lugar suficiente para aparcar en interior. Bob y Chris han sido muy buenos anfitriones, nos recibieron a nuestra llegada y nos enseñaron las instalaciones. Nos obsequiaron con pan y mermelada de albaricoque artesana (estaba muy buena!!, muchas gracias, Chris y Bob). Ellos viven en una casa anexa, pero respetan la intimidad, dando uso exclusivo de la piscina al huésped. La casa estaba muy limpia y dispone de lo necesario para pasar unos días. En finca también vive chica, una perrita muy bien enseñada que apenas ladra y no molesta. Intentaremos regresar en otra ocasión.

Peaceful and tranquil, the true essence of Spain and it's countryside
Well what can I say, we have just returned from a week at Finca Almendra staying in Chris & Bob's beautiful adjacent villa to their beautiful home. After a 'teeny tiny bit startling' 3 km winding, multiple hair pin bend part dirt/part concrete road to the villa - without Bob's clear instructions prior to embarking on the journey and his road signs every other bend - confirming that indeed you are on the right track!! - we probably would have turned around. BUT the journey is worth it. Just a note - when hiring a car make sure it is indeed a slightly bigger car not the basic small hire car - something that has slightly higher ground clearance but definitely NOT an automatic handbrake. You want a normal handbrake to give you peace of mind when navigating the track. The villa itself is just lovely, beautiful peaceful gardens, captivating views and really warm and friendly hosts that respect your privacy but are on hand for anything should you need them. I will say we had grand plans to do our usual thing and see and cram as much as possible in - we definitely wanted to climb Maroma and visit Granada and the palace - neither of which we managed because we were too busy relaxing. I did 'complain' that there was something in the water because we never woke before 08.00am and felt thoroughly rested. What we did do was explore the close area visiting nearby towns and walking, with the help of a fabulous walking book which I picked upon Amazon - 'Walk Costa Del Sol Axarquia by Charles Davis' along with it's map as the map has all the walks printed on it to go with the book. We did do number 4, 7, 12, 19 (which is the circular walk from the doorstep) walk 26 - all the walks gave us a flavour of rural Andalucia and the stunning beauty of the area. The weather was kind to us - very warm during the day but a chill when the sun went down, really good for October. Our unfinished itinerary means we now have a valid reason to definitely go back to a beautiful corner of the world and conquer unfinished business! To finish - thank you to Chris & Bob for sharing your lovely home with us, for your kind hospitality.

Traumhaft schöner Urlaub
Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit in der Finca Almendra und konnten uns wirklich gut erholen. Die Besitzer, Chris und Bob, sind super nett und hilfsbereit. Wir haben uns vom ersten Tag an wohlgefühlt. Ins Herz geschlossen haben wir auch Chica, die Hündin von Chris und Bob. Die Finca ist gut ausgestattet, es ist alles da, was man benötigt. Wir haben jeden Morgen beim Sonnenaufgang auf der schönen Terrasse eine erste Tasse Kaffee getrunken. Die Aussicht ist wunderschön, vor allem von dem tollen Poolbereich aus. Hier hat man einen tollen Blick aufs Meer und kann wunderschöne Sonnenuntergänge beobachten. Es gibt noch weitere, versteckte Sitzmöglichkeiten in dem hübschen Garten mit toller Aussicht. Zur Küste braucht man ca. 30 Minuten, ein Auto ist erforderlich. Der Weg zur Finca ist am Anfang etwas schwierig zu fahren, da die Wege unbefestigt und schmal sind. Nach ein paar Mal fahren, hat es aber richtig Spaß gemacht. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Stefanie und Matthias

Lovely Summer holiday with the kids
Thank you to Chris and Bob for allowing us to stay at this little gem. We wanted a place to take our kids to relax and unwind before they returned to school and it was the perfect spot. After overcoming the tricky road to get to the Villa you are met with this lovely house and amazing views. The kids (aged 5 &6) wasted no time jumping into the pool which you will have sole use of while you are here. The villa has all you need to make your stay comfortable and we particularly enjoyed the private terrace outside where we could have a BBQ in the evening while the sun went down. We did spend time exploring the surrounding areas and there are some nice beaches in Torrox and Algorrobo just a short drive away. The kids loved the be able to swim in the sea but ultimately the best day they had was the Aquavelis water park in Torre Del Mar. We spent the entire afternoon there as there is so much for them to do. We did a bit of sight seeing in near bye Nerja and the caves which was an amazing experience, but its very popular so book ahead of time to guarantee your entry time. We finished off our stay with a catamaran cruise recommended by Bob and its was the perfect way to end the holiday, with amazing sunsets views. Definitely recommended by us. After our busy days it was nice to come home with the adults relaxing around the pool and the kids not wanting to get out of the pool. The fans in the rooms provided where a life saver, we had some hot weather and the fans made it comfortable to sleep at night. All in all, we really wanted to stay longer than a week but a big thank you to Chris and Bob for their hospitality and recommendations. It was everything we had wished for.
