We had another wonderful week at this house located close to the beach and downtown Frankfort. The house is comfortable and well equipped in the kitchen with books and games for kids and adults. The side porch is delightful throughout the day - for morning coffee, lunch and dinner, or just relaxing. Highly recommended.
Just a few blocks from the beach this home is perfect for a family vacation. The property is spacious with plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy. Hosts were very attentive and answered all our question. The home had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Thank you for opening your home to us.
A welcoming house within walking distance of Lake Michigan and downtown Frankfort. The house is well appointed with kitchen and laundry supplies. We spent most of the time on the side porch which is lovely. We very strongly recommend it.
The house was as advertised. Great condition and we loved our stay close to downtown Frankfort. Great communication with owners and would highly recommend. We will be back.
My husband and six children vacationed here this week and I have zero complaints and only positive things to say, it was exceptionally clean and put together, the home is stocked with everything you would need plus some, we packed a lot of extra things because many rentals we have stayed at just lack in many things, but not this one, there were toys for our kids, games, books, plenty of cleaning items and things to help keep tidy while you're there, the kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen we've ever stayed in, and we have stayed in a lot of rentals as we vacation yearly. Perfect walking distance to the beach and to downtown Frankfort. They even had balls for the beach and sand toys! So impressed, we would definitely come back!
The house is comfortable, the porch is to die for, and the new patio was fantastic. This is the second time we’ve rented this property and I can’t say enough nice things about it and the owners! Love Frankfort and all of northern Michigan!
This was our family’s second time staying at this house, so clearly we are fans! The house is within walking distance to eating, drinking, shopping, ice cream, and there is a nice playground across the street. You can walk to the beach was is about a half mile away, or a 2 minute drive. The house itself is clean, comfortable, and spacious. I highly recommend booking this house!
My wife, daughter, and I stayed here over the Thanksgiving holiday. It was a much needed, relaxing, weekend away. The home and location was perfect. We would definitely stay here again!
My overall rating would have been excellent except there was a problem with the stove. The knobs were not correct/alignment and one burner popped on without lighting. That definitely needs to be fixed. It is dangerous in my opinion.
This property is actually much more charming than the photos depict! It’s clean as can be, with lots of comfortable places to relax. The kitchen was stocked with all kinds of pots and pans, and it was nice to have some spices left to use. The kitchen was open to the dining room, which was nice for meal preparation. There were lots of toys for our youngest child, and books for everyone. Our teens loved being within walking distance of everything in town. The window fans kept us comfortable all day and night. We had a wonderful time.
This house was located within blocks of downtown, and half a mile to the beach. There was also a nice little playground within walking distance. If you wanted to, you could park your car at the house and not use it again until it’s time to leave. The house was clean and spacious, with an awesome porch for sitting and relaxing in the morning or evening. I would definitely recommend this house, and hope to stay here again.
My family and I had a wonderful stay in this home which is easily accessible to the beach, shops, restaurants and the marina! We never used our cars. The home offers great space with the three bedrooms for the adults, and books for the kids allowing a large group. The home is clean, and has everything you need to be fully functional for a large group. The porch offers awesome seating and the yard was great for playing outdoor games.
Our stay was wonderful. This home is everything you want in a lake cottage. Comfortable, homey, and comes with a fantastic porch to relax on. It was clean and well maintained and we would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
We really enjoyed our stay during our first visit to Frankfort. The house has the most perfect location, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants and an easy walk up to the beach for a swim or to watch the sunset. The house was exactly as described and neat as a pin! We met the owners upon arrival and you can tell they take great pride in the property. As others have stated the house is extremely well equipped - in fact the best equipped house we have ever rented - everything you need to cook a meal and loads of books, puzzles, games, extra linens, blankets to make your stay really comfortable. Our two sons enjoyed playing games that were new to them and this allowed us to enjoy welcome family time away from electronics. They even had bikes available for us to use, which saved us $200 per bike/per week in rental fees! The bikes were well maintained and in great condition. We spent most of our time on the porch- eating our meals and playing games. So delightful to be outside and breath in the wonderful crisp air and great Michigan temps we were escaping from humid Ohio. My only constructive criticism comment would be about the beds in the two upstairs bedroom - and please know this comment is highly specific/personal - the mattresses are foam mattresses. I had recently injured my back and they were a little too soft for me, but the rest of the family slept great. Just mentioning in case other potential guests are back pain suffers as well. The first floor bedroom and the porch offered very firm mattresses for those who need them. So really in the end it worked out just fine. I would highly recommend staying at this property and we are likely to return in the future.
We always enjoy the property! It is clean and perfect for our family needs. Very quiet house and neighborhood. Walking distance to downtown and the lake. The owners are super responsive - we had an issue with the WiFi and they responded quickly and fixed the issue. New side porch is amazing! We will be back!
We loved every moment of this stay! Excellent place for a large family!

Wonderful house with everything you need to feel right at home.
A great property for a quiet beach vacation. The house is well appointed, with a great kitchen. The house has lots of extra supplies. There is plenty of outdoor space for barbeques and games. A short walk to everything the town has to offer. The owners were helpful and quick to respond when we needed assistance. Very likely to return again.

Plenty of room for all of us!
This was our second year staying, and we were able to sleep 3 families with 2 small children each without much trouble. The sitting rooms were used a lot and everything in the kitchen worked well, and we made good use of the large yard as well. Will hope to come back again!

comfortable and conveniently located
This is a very nice house. The beds are comfortable and it is nicely appointed. There is plenty of room to spread out and a nice big table in the dining area to come together. The location is a nice walk to the beach or the downtown. There is no AC but we were comfortable with fans in mid July.

Another great summer in Frankfort
We enjoyed our stay here, the house was clean and had all the essentials for our stay. We enjoyed and used the side yard quite a bit. This house is ideally located one block from all the downtown shops and restaurants.

About the host
Hosted by Jon and Bill Hautz and Sheryl Robertson
We grew up camping at the beach on Lake Michigan every summer and never lost the thrill of the unsalted waves, the majestic sunsets and the long stretches of the best beach sand. We are landlocked in Ohio now but have hopes to spend more of our time in Michigan in a few years.
Why they chose this property
We happened upon Frankfort while on a bicycle ride around Crystal lake and were immediately taken with its charm and proximity to the Big Lake. Our dream was to own a home in Frankfort and more than 20 years later we were able to make that dream come true. We want to share the charm of Frankfort with families and other adventurers looking for a place to nest for a time.
What makes this property unique
We loved all the separate spaces for tucking away with a game, puzzle or book and huge lot for outdoor fun.
