Beautiful "ECO" barn conversion in Wye Valley - ideal for couples plus two kids
High View Barn is a brand new barn conversion in a unique private setting high up on a ridge overlooking the Wye Valley near Monmouth. It is the perfect romantic getaway for a couple (or a couple with two teenage children) set half a mile from the nearest road at the end of private track. The property is set in 63 acres against a woodland backdrop with gorgeous views over the surrounding countryside to the Forest of Dean and beyond.
The barn is an open plan "indoor/outdoor" building with up to the minute insulation and heating technologies and all modern conveniences within. The kitchen features a complete wall of triple glazed glass with a huge sliding door giving onto an outdoor patio/lawn area. The living room is the full height of the barn featuring the original beams. Off this is a king size bedroom which can be open plan or closed off for complete privacy. If required there is an upstairs balcony which can accommodate two teenage children in 3 ft single beds.
On the same property we also have Church Hill Farm (Homeaway no: 838758) which can accommodate up to 9 people. You may wish to rent the two properties together.

Absolutely wonderful stay in a beautiful area. For those who love to connect with nature and experience the peace and tranquility of the area, this is the place to unwind. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We enjoyed the lovely walks on the property and watching the deer and rabbits feeding nearby. Thank you so much Christine and Max!
Great property for two adults in a very quiet location. Ideal for walks and wildlife. We will aim to return when the weather is better to allow us to explore without wellies !!
After weeks of street noise and pigeons, we slept like babes in the silence. We had a young deer pass every evening and sheep bleating in the meadow below. Christine was a thoughtful and responsive host. 6 days were not enough.
Lovely property with amazing views. Very private with all the things you need. Very secluded with very hilly long walks around and to town. We even saw deers during our walks as well as many other wild animals at the accomodation such as bunnies, squirrels and a bullfinch that visited every morning. Only downsides were that the windows do let in a draft when windy but closed, signs of wear and tear, and there were a few cobwebs inside but property is as pictured. I have a low car and worried about the track to the house but careful positioning and it was fine. Would of liked a better hoover and mop facilities as would of liked to have cleaned up more after our two big dogs had been out in the rain.
We have just come back from a wonderful stay at High View Barn. Everything about this wonderful barn conversion has the wow factor, the views from the barn were breathtaking! Christine was always at hand to help with any queries we had. We had such a wonderful time we will certainly be returning
Lovely property and in a stunning location. I had a slight issue with the cleanliness especially in the kitchen but overall a lovely break in gorgeous surroundings. Ideal for walking and biking.
We loved our stay at the High View Barn. It was quiet and restful, exactly what we needed on holiday. Thank you Christine for being a wonderful host. Truly a lovely time.
Tucked away with beautiful views, this very well appointed cottage is the most perfect romantic retreat. Well equipped, cosy and very comfortable. The surrounding area is a delight, lots of places to visit, go walking and some very fine places to eat. We especially enjoyed our dinner in the Lion Inn in Trellech. The views from the cottage are really beautiful, and waking up to the view every morning was a pure delight, especially when we woke up to deer grazing in the garden!

Stunning spot, great area for walking, cycling, canoeing. Houses well equipped and clean! Thanks
Would highly recommend the Eco Barn and next door Church Hill Farm. We were a big family group, including 4 couples, 5 kids, 1 baby, 1 dog, and there was space for all! Beautiful views. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner outside, as well as gathering together in the spacious living room at night. Thanks Christine for making this gathering possible! :-)

As described in the details- fantastic location; rural and 'away from it all', lovely walks...
All that we hoped for in terms of a lovely, peaceful place to stay - both inside and outside - the chic yet also rustic interior of the barn was seamlessly integrated with the beautiful surrounding countryside and views via the enormous panoramic glass sliding doors- which we had mainly open with the warm weather. Some great walks with our dog too. We hope to come back!

A wonderfully secluded eco barn with everything
The Eco barn is a fantastic place to stay in every way. If you want seclusion you have it, if you want peace and wonderful views of the Wye Valley you have it.
If the weather is not perfect then the Eco barn is a very comfortable place to be with lots of natural light and a very high standard of fittings and furnishings.
When the sun is out you can open the glass fronted kitchen dining area and enjoy the stone paved patio, lawn and views of the valley. If it gets chilly then the under floor heating and wood burning stove keep you warm and cosy.
When it's time to venture out there is a plethora of splendid places to explore including one or two very welcoming hostelries - all nearby.
Max and Christine are great hosts and are keen that you have all that you need to enjoy your time at the Eco Barn.

About the host

Max and I have lived here since 1977 and love the area. Max is an economist and I work in the music industry managing some great artists and running a record label.
Why they chose this property
The location is extremely private, half a mile from the nearest road. We have spent two years working on this barn conversion and have paid great attention to detail. It is very comfortable and ultra modern in style.
What makes this property unique
The barn is in a unique spot - very quiet and with gorgeous views. Behind the property is 12 acres of woodland and we have just planted another 10 acres. In front you have a lovely view of the Wye Valley across to the Forest of Dean and Malvern. Without ever getting in your car you can be on a gorgeous walk and within a few minutes take in the view of the Black Mountains across to Hay on Wye.
