About this property

Nice apartment by the sea

*** The accommodation ***

Apartment located in an ancient tonnara, in a spectacular position on the beach of Porto Paglia, a few steps from the sea.

It is a historic complex dating back to the sixteenth century, where once lived the fishermen of Tonnara and located directly on the beach. The village was restored in the 80s and still retains the ancient architecture built by the Portuguese engineers who designed it.

The apartment is on two levels, divided by a large mezzanine.
On the ground floor: a living room with a double sofa bed and a kitchenette, a bathroom with a shower.
In the mezzanine: a double bed and a single bed.
The apartment has a small terrace at the entrance, with direct access to the beach and equipped with table and chairs, from which you can enjoy a splendid sea view.
Private parking space.

*** Guest access ***

- Table and chairs on the terrace.
- Private parking space
- TV, digital decoder.
- Conditioned air.

*** The district ***

The environmental context of Porto Paglia is unique for its beauty: apart from the village, you can not see as far as the eye can see of the hand of man. A marvelous sea view that spreads up to the fascinating stack of the Pan di Zucchero which rises a little further north.
The beach is splendid and pristine, with golden sand that degrades very slowly, lapped by crystal clear water.

A place far from the chaos of the city, where you sleep lulled by the sound of the sea. But also a place to spend days of leisure, reading, or where and to practice various hobbies: fishing, snorkeling and windsurfing.

*** A ride around ***

Although you seem to be in a paradise far from everything, the complex is in an optimal position: a few kilometers you will find most of the services.

Just 4 km away is the village of Gonnesa. There you will find various supermarkets, the bank, the post office, the pharmacy, restaurants, the library.

At 12 km there is Iglesias, the capital of the province of Sulcis Iglesiente with all the services of a town of 30,000 people.

The SS 130 road to get from Cagliari is about 50 km all in a double lane. The road from Iglesias to Porto Paglia is extremely convenient and straight, nothing compared to the other Sardinian beaches.

**** The most beautiful beaches ****
In Buggerru we have undergone some splendid pearls like the beaches of Portixeddu and San Nicolò, an insidious sea, but an authentic spectacle of nature. Buggerru beach is very popular with wave surfers while Cala Domestica is an authentic pearl, with its double beach in the small cove.

Further south you enter the territory of Iglesias, the most famous beach is that of Masua, but you must go very early to find a place. Then remain Porto Corallo, Portu Banda and Portu Cauli as you approach the coast of Gonnesa. The latter is really beautiful, a long sandy and dune beach, with a large pine forest - with lots of shade and picnic tables - and an important wetland behind, which changes three times named Fontanamare (on the right the dog beach), Plagemesu and Porto Paglia. Finally he knows Punta 'e d'arena. Here is the coast of Portoscuso, less famous also because of the large industrial complex being dismantled, yet the coast is fantastic and largely unspoiled, lava flows, high cliffs, coves and fossil dunes approaching Porto Paglia. Very beautifull.

Definitely more to the south, on the border with Teulada, here is Sant'Anna Arresi, with the immense white dunes of the beautiful Porto Pino (in Porto Pino there is a free beach dedicated to dogs and their owners most loved in Sardinia). Also noteworthy is Porto Pineddu, the beach of the French and Porto de su Trigu. Shortly before, in the territory of Masainas, here is Solinas.

Then there are the islands, that of Sant'Antioco that we share between Calasetta to the north, with the cute beach town, under the tower, the great beach and that incredible postcard that is the lighthouse Mangiabarche (not to be missed in the days of rough seas ). And Sant'Antioco to the south, do not miss the beach of Coaquaddus, that of Maladroxia and then Capo Sperone and the spectacle of is Praneddas with its natural pool.
