Great value, spacious, convenient location

The only reason it's not 5 stars is the bed is a double which is a bit cramped for us and the front sliding door needs some attention, but these are nit picky details. We also own a vacation rental, so this comments are meant to be helpful and not critical. We'd happily stay here again. Super friendly neighbors. It is Mexico so there are dogs around, including an intimidating Rottweiler at the end of the street, but we had no troubles with any of the dogs, and or dogs got along well with the neighbors. A sandy beach is a short drive away, and don't miss visiting Doña Rositas for a meal just before sunset. The Yelp reviews about needing 4 wheel drive to get there are exaggerated. It's definitely worth the short drive.

If you have a dog who just loves other dogs, this neighborhood is excellent. Lots of fairly friendly dogs (Chief is a Good Boy) for your dog to play with. If your dog does not get along well with dogs this would not be a fun place. You have to drive to any food, groceries, and hiking. There’s little privacy (the next door neighbor is friendly, but will want to chat anytime you step outside), and we did have to remind the agency renting the place to turn on our propane. Don’t expect warm water in the shower, but that’s typical of Mexico. All in all, though, a good place if you want a quieter neighborhood to stay in.

My stay in San Carlos

The property was clean. It was fine for me by myself, but not for my family. The family area had patio furniture that was hard and uncomfortable. The cushions were dingy and I didn't want to sit on them. The shower has an exposed light fixture with no cover to keep it from getting wet. Blind in bedroom only partially covered the window. The neighborhood was quiet, that was nice. The rental rate was very good. Furniture could be updated for something more comfortable. Would I stay there again? If it was just me, maybe.
