Glebe Barn is a detached 2-bedroomed single story barn conversion sitting alongside Glebe Farm and set in 30 acres of our own pasture and woodland that visitors are welcome to explore. The holiday barn has an open plan living area featuring a log burner (logs included), flat screen TV with built in DVD player, fully fitted kitchen and a dining space with table & 4 chairs. Early November 2017 a brand new state of the art central heating system was installed, in 2018 new double glazed windows through out, 2019 new floor coverings and in 2020 a new kitchen. There's a twin bedroom with en-suite shower room, a double bedroom and a bathroom with bath and shower. The barn sleeps 4 people and has a travel cot that can be placed in either of the bedrooms. For anyone travelling with small children, there's a high chair and a fireguard that clips securely to the wall. The kitchen has a hob, oven, fridge/freezer, microwave & dishwasher. There’s fenced secure front and rear garden areas with a patio accessed via French doors from the living space. The private garden areas make it perfect for eating out doors and there's 2 seating areas with patio tables & chairs, perfect for family meals. Right next to the barn there's parking for several cars. If you're bringing bikes along with you we have a locked outbuilding they can be put in.
Bed linen, towels and heating and logs for the fire are included. We travel & self cater a lot and find it's so inconvenient to have to take items like washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, tea towels, dish cloths, pan scourers, salt, pepper, vinegar etc, so we provide those. We also supply you with enough tea, coffee, sugar & toiletries/loo rolls to get you keep you going for the first 3 or 4 days too. We accept up to 3 dogs and the gardens are well fenced, with the rear garden fenced with a combination high hedges with stock proof fencing and sturdy wooden fences. The rear boundary is all at least 6ft high. Sorry, we don't accept cats.
Positioned on the edge of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty (ANOB) you’ll discover a special and varied landscape with stunning views, an abundance of wildlife and a wide range of activities. For those wanting to step out, there’s a network of footpaths direct from the door. Within easy walking distance you’ll find the open areas of Silvington & Catherton Common, the Clee Hills, nature reserves and even a small pub that used to be the local jail.
It’s about a 30-minute walk to Catherton Common (owned by the Shropshire Wildlife Trust) a wild and beautiful place, crossed with footpaths and home to a litany of rare plants including bog asphodel, bog pimpernel, marsh lousewort and sundews.
Brown Clee, the highest point in Shropshire, can be seen from the window of the holiday cottage and is a short drive away - or a full day hike! Titterstone Clee Hill can be visited on foot from the cottage (about an eight-mile round trip) or just a short drive for the not so energetic if you just want to head up there for the spectacular views from the top. Elsewhere in the AONB are other famous walks including along Wenlock Edge, around Church Stretton, the Wrekin and of course the Stiperstones. If you're familiar with the well known Social Media page (the one with the blue F logo), you can find more info about the area on The Glebe Barn At Farlow page.
