About this property

A sudeley castle cottage that sleeps 6 guests in 2 bedrooms

Emma Dent cottage forms part of the Sudeley Castle Cottage complex, which is just a short walk from the centre of Winchcombe. Everything you need is on the doorstep and with Winchcombe being a ‘walker’s welcome’ town, there is much to explore on foot.

On the ground floor, you’ll find an open-plan dining and well-appointed kitchen area, with a door to the courtyard. The living area is a light, bright and airy space with plenty of seating and French doors to the courtyard. There is also a useful ground floor cloakroom. Upstairs are two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.

The private courtyard behind the cottage has seating for alfresco dining and a charcoal barbecue. The cottage complex benefits from large car parking with plenty of spaces.

Ground Floor
The ground floor of Emma Dent Cottage features a bright and light open-plan area, furnished with English country cottage fabrics and light oak furniture.

Dining Area:
The centrepiece of the dining area is an oak dining table and chairs to comfortably seat 6.

To the left of the dining area is an understairs cupboard housing a travel cot, stair gate, highchair, iron, ironing board, airer, and bedding for the sofa bed. A spacious W.C. with sink featuring sage-grey Shaker-style panelling is next to the understair cupboard - a handy facility for guests using the sofa bed.

Kitchen:
The fully equipped kitchen has a country-cottage feel, with fresh off-white coloured cabinets and wooden work surfaces. The kitchen has all the appliances, cookware, crockery and glassware you need for a self-catering holiday, including a Neff cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine.

Living Area:
Down a couple of steps from the kitchen, the triple-aspect living area is wonderfully light yet cosy and features two large, sink-in sofas (one is a sofa bed) and a comfy armchair, plus a coffee table, and a large Samsung Smart TV. French doors lead out to the courtyard with seating and chairs and a charcoal barbecue, the perfect spot for an evening drink after a day exploring the estate or wider Cotswolds.

First Floor
Carpeted stairs with a handrail lead upstairs to the two en-suite bedrooms:

Bedroom One:

Along the landing and down a couple of steps you’ll find the king-size double bedroom with a very spacious en-suite. The bedroom windows look out down the length of the main Sudeley courtyard, providing a great view of all the cottages. The bedroom is furnished with a small built-in hanging cupboard, a full-length mirror, bedside tables and handy overbed lights with reading and room lighting.

En-Suite Bathroom:
A single step leads up into the spacious en-suite, featuring a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, a large sink with a mirror, shaver powerpoint, a storage cupboard (ideal for luggage) and a vanity storage unit for bathroom accessories.

Bedroom Two:
Cross the landing and down a couple of steps as you enter the pretty en-suite twin bedroom, featuring two oak frame beds and a lovely view out over woodland. The bedroom is furnished with a large built-in hanging cupboard, a central bedside table and individual overbed lights with reading and room lighting.

En-Suite Bathroom:
This en-suite bathroom features a large, walk-in shower (with overhead and hand-held shower), dual flush W.C., a large sink and a heated towel rail.

Outside
There is a private courtyard with seating and a charcoal barbecue (please bring your own charcoal) to the rear of the cottage. There is ample parking in the cottage complex car park.

An excellant place to stay

The Emma Dent cottage is a wonderful optimization of space and comfort. The living room, dining area and kitchen are very spacious, and the upstairs bedrooms very comfortable. The bathrooms are well lit, very modern and the showers are, frankly, very appealing after a day of tramping. The location is superb, easy walking distance to all of Winchcombe. We couldn't have asked for a better place to anchor our wanderings between Broadway and Bourton. We will certainly reserve it again.

10/10 Excellent

The cottage was very comfortable and tastefully furnished.

Everything was good apart from the supply of mugs- there were only 5 for a property that says it is for up to 6 people- and likewise only 5 teacups- which is not sufficient. The only criticism.

Super cottage

Emma Dent cottage is a very clean and exceptionally comfortable cottage in a beautiful, quiet location. Having free entry to Sudeley Castle, which is beautiful and very interesting, was a bonus.

Great break

Cottage was very well equipped and furnished, a lot of thought had obviously gone into the interior design. The kitchen had all things necessary for simple or complex meal prep and having the cleaning kit was really helpful. Location was great, a short walk to the lovely village of Winchcome and also to Sudley castle. It was a lovely bonus to have free access to the castle which is definitely worth a visit. It was a great break and is definitely in my list to re-visit.

Great Stay in Winchcombe

A nice detached house with two bedrooms and separate bathrooms. Everything you need for a comfortable stay is there is this efficient home . The kitchen is well equipped, dining table and chairs for our family of four. The Living room sits up to 6. It is located close to both Sudeley Castle and the town, an excellent location.

Perfect Stay for a Cotswolds Vacation

Our family recently stayed at the Emma Dent cottage. The cottage itself was exactly what we wanted and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked for all our cooking needs, bedrooms and bathrooms were great. Upon arriving we were greeted with a lovely note and some treats including lots of tea and coffee and some milk in the fridge. This was the perfect base to explore The Cotswolds. It's a short walk to the High Street with several options for food and beverage. I would definitely stay here again on our next trip to the area.

Beautiful cottage near Sudely Castle

We stayed as a family; grown up children and parents. We went to Giffords Circus who were performing at the castle. This beautiful cottage was the perfect location. The village is fabulous. We are vegan and there are plenty of vegan food offerings to choose from. It is easy to cook in the cottage too as the equipment provided was excellent. The rooms are both ensure and there is plenty of space both inside and outside to hang out in. Fabulous thank you.

Great little house in a beautiful location.

House clean and tidy with good size tv, a couple of games, books and plenty of kitchen equipment. Outside area had a bbq with picnic bench but was not ready for us to use. Upstairs bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms lovely and beds comfortable. Plenty of towels and complimentary toiletries. Lounge was a good size for a family as used the sofa bed and there was plenty of room. Mattress on sofa bed a little worn but if being used for small children it would be more than adequate.

Very enjoyable stay on the whole.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Emma Dent. The accommodation is excellent. We were disappointed about the building work and scaffolding right next door and the loss of a nice seating area as no one could describe sitting at the back as pleasant. Also we were woken early and overlooked in the back bedroom. It did not spoil our holiday, but I think we should have been alerted to the situation beforehand.

Very good

Cottage excellent. Just a few downsides - not much storage space upstairs and the bedroom felt quite squashed with the 5ft bed in it. Also the two steps into the bedrooms were hazardous. Nice to have a tray set out for us and milk in the fridge. The cottage was very well equipped, the patio superb and the big shower was great.

Lovely cottage

We loved this cottage. It's beautiful inside and out. The location is perfect -- a walk of less than 5 minutes to the center of Winchcombe, but in a lovely quiet cul-de-sac with a few other pretty cottages. Small private parking area with plenty of spaces. The downstairs -- living room, dining area and kitchen -- is very spacious and nicely furnished, with all the modern conveniences. The upstairs bedrooms are quite small. There is a closet in each, but no drawers for storing clothes. Perhaps the hosts will consider putting a small dresser in the closet. Overall, we were very happy with our choice.

Cosy cottage in great location

We were very pleased with our recent stay in Emma Dent cottage. In a small development of other rentals it was like stepping back in time. The cottage was spotless, looked like it had been recently refurbished. Very well stocked with everything you would need. Perfect for a short break, within easy walking distance of the lovely town of Winchcombe. Our only criticism was a lack of drawer space in the bedrooms. Lovely little courtyard for enjoying a glass of wine. We had one small problem which was resolved immediately by a call to the office. Free entry to Sudeley castle was an added bonus. Would thoroughly recommend these cottages.

Fantastic stay.

I stayed for two nights in the Emma Dent cottage. The cottage is clean and in a quiet location. There is an open plan kitchen/living room, plus downstairs toilet. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom. One room has a double bed, and the other two single beds. The shower is large and you are supplied with toiletries. In the kitchen there is a pint of milk in the fridge, plus tea/coffee and mints. The cottage is a short walk from Sudeley castle and entry is free if you show your key/proof of staying at a cottage. I also recommend asking to do the tour at £5. The cottage is also a short walk away from some restaurants, so although you can self-cater, you can easily also eat out. For entry, you let yourself in, as you will be given a key code to retrieve the front door key. I very much enjoyed the Emma Dent cottage. I intent to book it again for next year as I found it ideal.

Spacious cottage and great amenities in the heart of Cotswolds

Very clean, comfortable and spacious cottage whilst visiting family locally. Have stayed before and will be back again!! Although Sudeley Castle was closed this time we were able to go on some lovely walks and enjoyed a delicious meal at the local pub the White Hart.

Great location

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Emma Dent cottage which we found to be very comfortable and superbly placed for both Sudeley Castle and Winchcombe town as well as walks in the surrounding countryside. We very much appreciated the early check in and would love to return. Just one friendly suggestion - more dishes, plates etc should be provided as this would save on your dishwasher costs! Only five dishes for four people isn’t enough - 12 would mean the dishwasher only needs to go on once a day instead of at least twice, saving power and the planet! But this is a common issue in self catering properties. Thank you again

Superb cottage

We actually rented Emma Dent for 2 weeks as a base for touring manor houses and castles. The cottage experience far surpassed our normal style of moving from one B&B to another. Very comfortable and private. We highly recommend The Plough Inn for meals.

An excellent stay

Beautiful group of cottages walking distance from both the charming village and Sudeley castle with its stunning gardens. The cottage (Emma Dent) was very well appointment and brand new but in a typical Cotswolds style. It’s free on 4 sides but overlooking a charming courtyard where also the other cottages are. A few walks seem to start right next to the cottages or in the immediate proximity. The construction site mentioned in the brochure is right beside Emma Dent cottage so maybe it’s a bit noisy at the moment during the week. It hasn’t affected me since I arrived on Friday afternoon. I definitely recommend it.

Relaxing stay in Cotswolds with family and friends

We had a wonderful time staying in the Emma Dent cottage, with my brother and his family staying next door in Queen Mary cottage. We were visiting family locally in Winchcombe and made use of our free entrance to the beautiful Sudeley Castle and grounds. All thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A lovely, clean and spacious cottage.

A short break

I booked the cottage for my son and family when they visited us in Winchcombe as we do not have much room for them all. They loved it and made use of their free admission to the castle. The little girls wanted to stay for ever in their "little house" and I wish they could! Folkestone is a very long way from Granny! They loved their room and there was a cot for the baby too. My son said it was like living in a film set, very beautiful!
