About this property

Peaceful, private, and safe retreat with beach access and central location

Charming and comfortable bungalow located three short and easy blocks from Wikomico Beach. The back yard is private and peaceful and the neighborhood is very safe. There is a small brook that runs alongside the property that draws deer and other safe wildlife into view daily. Enjoy being near the lake and in nature, yet only 5-10 minutes from town and most shopping conveniences. House has private beach access but no view of the water. There is a cement path to the lake and a walkway along the shore.

The lake is great for all watersports including boating, tubing, skiing, fishing, and ice skating in the winter. There are miles of great hiking and biking trails right outside the door and the house is only minutes to 3 golf courses, 2 regional parks, great restaurants, public parks, and shopping conveniences. Only 1 hour's drive to 4 different ski resorts with great snow skiing and no lift lines! Perfect central location only 20 minutes to Lake Coeur d'alene and Spokane.

The home has a newly remodeled kitchen and one updated bath on main floor. The kitchen comes fully stocked with everything needed for entertaining. On the main floor, there are 2 bedrooms (one king bed and one twin bed), one full bath, a dining room with table and chairs to seat 6 people, a Livingroom with large picture windows and a fireplace (not currently for use), a kitchen with granite island to seat 4 people and a sliding glass door that opens to a small deck with outdoor tables and chairs. There is a laundry room and separate very large bathroom with shower down one easy flight of stairs. The back yard has 2 cement patios for entertaining. There is a BBQ and 2 outdoor tables and chairs to seat 6 people. Wi-Fi is provided.

Liberty Lake is a small resort town mid-way between Spokane and Coeur d'alene (15/20 minutes to each). It's surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges and offers many summer fun activities, including outdoor movies and concerts in Pavillion Park, a wonderful Farmer's market, 3 golf courses, great hiking and biking trails, zip lining tours, river access, close proximity to 4 different snow ski resorts, etc

Great Place!

The house is clean, aesthetically pleasing, well-maintained, charming and in a beautiful location. The place fit the description perfectly. Two wild turkeys, deer, rabbits, quail, and other birds visited the property while we were there. The house is very close to a small lake. The place had everything we needed. Abbie responded quickly to our questions and made us feel welcome and wanted as guests. We were very pleased with this VRBO!

Such a refreshing experience

We came here in need of a restful vacation and that is what we had. We LOVED sitting by the little creek, listening to it and the birds. And we really enjoyed the wildlife that came into the yard: deer, raccoon mother & babies, chipmunks, squirrels, and a weasel. Abbie was SO helpful and responsive. Her communication was great. She even left us a little welcome basket. The house fit our needs well. The location was excellent. And the host was great. If we ever come to Washington state again, we would happily stay here again.

Liberty Lake hideaway

My wife and I stayed at Abbe’s Liberty Lake property for most of August 2019. The backyard is a gem with a brook running through that attract deer, wild turkeys and rabbits. Quite amusing to view the wildlife with morning coffee. The home is well appointed with plenty of room for two couples. The downstairs bedroom and lounge provide plenty of privacy. The house is well updated with the latest appliances including a large kitchen and dining room area. We used the large, new grill nightly. The WiFi and internet TV worked flawlessly. We would use the beach regularly after a bicycle ride. The lake is a short two block walk from the property. Rarely encountered other bathers. While here we enjoyed bicycling the Centennial trail (Spokane to CdA); Trial of the Hiawatha and the Trail of the Coeur D Alene's. The local Forest Service roads make great bike rides also. Abbe is a lovely host whom is very attentive without being obtrusive. I would not hesitate to return. My only complaint would be with VRBO/ Home Away. I didn’t appreciate mandatory purchase of a renter's insurance policy on myself. Also, VRBO’s charges (9% from renter; 9% from property owner) are too expensive for the “value add” they advertise for their services.

A lake getaway that will make you feel right at home!

We stayed at Abbie's house on Liberty lake for 4 nights over the weekend and it was a great experience. Abbie welcomed us to her lake home with detailed information about the area and where we can go for food and fun! The house is well updated with the latest appliances and a large kitchen and dining room area. The backyard is lovely with a great patio area and creek in the back. Getting to the beach is easy as its a simple walk down the street, and when we got there it was private and not busy at all! We will definitely be staying here again!

Lovely Washington Hillside Home

My daughters and granddaughter and I spent a wonderful 5 days exploring the Spokane area last week while staying at this lovely property near Liberty Lake in Western Washington state. I would absolutely choose to stay here again when we return to visit our granddaughter. The home is spotless, well appointed with a lovely, private backyard that even has a tiny brook flowing through it. The owner was very helpful and easy to reach, but totally non-intrusive. I would say this was our best experience with VRBO so far.

Disappointed in Location

Our second booking with VRBO but not as successful as our first. When viewing this listing on VRBO the main photo was a beautiful view of Liberty Lake with the heading "semi-waterfront" property. It looked perfect for our little mini holiday to visit with friends in Spokane. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and could not even see the lake. The home was located 3 blocks from the lake and could have been anywhere, certainly not a "semi-waterfront" location. We were to stay 4 nights, but only stayed 2. It was an expensive 2 night stay. The house itself was very comfortable with a lovely back garden. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedroom linens in perfect condition. The home is older, but has been renovated very nicely. On the listing it shows a fireplace, but does not say that you cannot use it. Since our stay was in the summer, it did not matter, but if we had been winter visitors, we would have been disappointed. While there, I spoke with the owner and said that I felt her listing had misrepresented the location of the property. She immediately changed the listing on VRBO and lowered the price. However, she did not offer to reimburse me for the difference. I was hesitant to write a review, since I do not wish to be so negative. However, I feel that it is only fair to other potential renters to tell of our experience. The actual access to the lake itself is a public access which is about 10' wide, and completely surrounded by beautiful lakefront properties. It is beautiful, and appears very private. You really feel like an intruder, even though you are entitled to go onto the shoreline. Perhaps this is why the listing had no reviews posted from previous renters. Once again, the home was not the problem, it was the location. Now that the owner has changed her listing, future renters will not be disappointed as we were.

About the host

Moved to Spokane with my husband and family in 2009 from San Francisco. Fell in love with the area while growing up in Montana.

Why they chose this property

We like the look and feel of liberty lake, a small resort town that is midway between Spokane and Coeur d'alene. It's a beautiful and safe place to get away from it all, yet close to the airport and our home in Spokane. We fell in love with the house for it's unique charm. It sits up against a mountainside with a brook that runs alongside the yard and it feels so peaceful and private yet it's only a short drive to most conveniences. I love the look and feel of mid century homes and this one feels especially comfortable and cozy.

What makes this property unique

The back yard feels very peaceful with a brook that attracts many deer and other safe wildlife into view daily. It's close to nature yet only a few minutes drive to everything. The house is a charming beach bungalow with a cathedral ceiling in the living room and large picture windows with beautiful views of the mountains and nature.
